Anyway to go back to the 959? I'm on 890. I've noticed some differences in another d3 in the house running the 959. Id like to see if its the software version.

The main one I noticed is my screen has a really bad blue tint in comparison to the other.

Yeah...mines the blue one

Took the pic of mine with the 959 one so the camera blue tint may b making it look worse than it is. So I did it differently. U can see the difference. Mine is on the right. And sorry about that blank post..fudged the buttons haha

This.
My replacement Droid 3 has a much brighter screen on it then my old one did.
Silly question, have you checked brightness settings?

Yup. I actually sent my replacement back, and kept my original which has a very tight slider. The replacements screen was blurry, and dull. Moto needs more quality control on the screens. I cant believe the varying differences.
Yeah both on auto brightness. But the difference is huge no matter what. The other looks much better in all conditions..oh well.

The screens are very different. I've noticed 2 drastically different types. One is blue tinted, and you can't see the grid pattern, but it ghosts badly. There's a more accurate screen with yellow-ish whites and it ghosts far less, but you can see an odd grid pattern and lines on the screen. My first 3 had the blue tinted screen. My 4th one right now has a very nice screen-it ghosts far less and colors are more accurate. But, everything has a noticeable grid pattern over it.
Interesting thank you

This is true, I have one with a more noticeable grid but better coloration.
Hi guys,
Yesterday I bought a Nexus 32gb in Fnac, and I realized that with the screen off the light of a close reading lamp is reflected in it and because of this I can see a dotted line and "squares" in the screen (I suppose it's the tactile panel)
The weirdest thing is after seeing the dotted line with the screen off, when I turn it on with the highest bright and a white background I keep on seeing those points
Would you be so kind as to check this?
Thanks for all.
My one x and asus transformer have them too.

I'm very grateful for your answer.
Do you still see them in the same place when you turn the screen on for a few seconds and put a white background in it?
The squares are in an obvious pattern. There is no way that could be a bad screen. All HP touchpad had it.

Ok, but I dont think it's normal that I can see the points with screen on (with background white)
Regards.
I see this with the Kindle Fire but not with the Nexus 7.

I've noticed this pattern on my Nexus 7 as well, but only when the screen is off and hit by a bright light at just the right angle. And even then, I have to really look for it.
I've never been able to notice it while the screen was turned on though.

ah no, i can only see them when the screen in off and i am outside with bright sunlight on the front face... no chance of seeing them on white background here. :good:
It is normal. Stop being paranoid and just accept what people are telling you. It is normal to see that pattern while the screen is on if you have a bright background.
Edit: If people say they cant see them they are not looking for it correctly. All capacative screen has em'. True story

Hi man, please try with the screen in on and with the bright of a lantern, I can see the pattern of points easily.
Thanks!
I got my one from best buy, last night I noticed that when the screen is on, on the lower left side part of the screen is a little brighter, it's about half inch in diameter, it seems like the screen is being pressed, bc if I press the screen myself a little lower, it goes away and the same thing happens where im currently pressing. The is also a small bright dot right in the middle of the screen, which also is only noticesable with s black background.
And last thing, I don't know if this is normal, but the touch screen is not accurate at all

All of that is normal. They actually made it like this as a selling point.
Jk. Not normal. Take it back. I have none of those issues.

Lol, I'm just wondering if they will exchange it since it's barely noticible if it's bright outside, and only with a black background, like when a YouTube video is loading or the app drawer

Be prepared to demonstrate the defect and be firm that you want an exchange...

I was wondering if anyone else is able to notice blue Lines on the screen when the display is off? If I have my display off and I tilt my phone I can see blue lines both horizontally and vertically depending on how I hold the phone. I was just curious if anyone else has this problem or is it just me?

I didn't notice this on my original One that I got the week the phone was released, but it was immediately apparent on the NIB replacement I got 2 weeks later. I only see horizontal lines though, no vertical ones. The screen with the lines also seemed a bit brighter, but I never got a chance to compare both side by side.

You might be seeing the lines of the digitizer I believe not sure it has small squares or lines going vertically and horizontal depends how you see it really I've seen it on most touch screens they're very hard to see tho

I've seen them, but only in specific conditions with the screen off.
If I helped you don't forget the thanks button!

Looks like not all N3 have the same display temps. I compared 2 different ones and one has a whiter white than the other. Is this the case or just me?

Not sure how to check that. Is there a setting or just a visual comparison?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes, it's possible. Also, if one is more yellow, it could also be the glue between the display and glass hasn't cured yet.

I guess just a visual but I prefer a whiter white than a off white display. I was hoping there's a setting but didn't see one.
