Backup's of HTC ONE - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can I still use HTC backup to dropbox. Or Google backups. Or isit easier just to use my cwm recovery for nandroid's and use advanced restore to just restore data back to phone as I would like to try flashing a custom rom. Thanks

Boot Master Pro or Lite

Has any one tried using this app with their Inc S? How did it go?
I've installed it, loaded 3 roms (2 install from zip and 1 nandroid backup) and can't get any to boot. They all get stuck at the Splash screen.
I'm unlocked, S off, using Blackrose and have never had an issue installing those roms before.

I had it, but just for two rom. Do you selected install boot.IMG with?

I just followed the on screen prompts. Install zip, so I then select the zip I wanted. And when I try to boot to that rom it does nothing.

A reason could be the blackrose hboot with the lip partition..

Do you know of any way to get it to work?

For me it looks like ics is too unstable for that, it doesn't run on my device flawlessly. You could go back to a non Blackrose HBoot, flash a Rom who don't need blackrose and try it again

Help

Anyone know why my HTC one has 27 gb out of 32gb used on my phone under the "other" tab under storage in my settings?
I performed a factory reset thinking it would erase all and give me more storage but itsthe same. Is this the way the one comes? I thought there was way morewhen I purchased phone.

Have you been doing nandroid backups in recovery? Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage and see if it can help you find what's taking space.

I've done a few backups lately with Rom manager

nandroids consume lots of space. If you want to clear all, you can go to TWRP, then wipe -> advanced -> internal memory. It'll wipe your whole sd!
Did you by any chance encryrpt your storage?

You should go to sd card and then to TWRP then to back up

Did you delete them from your internal SD card? If you did, then you can't really get them back

Backup Protected Apps

Is there any way to backup protected apps without rooting my HTC One?
Any help with this?

without root, you can't backup the app data. So you may as well just download the apk from internet and save it, than backing up the app.

That's not actually true. But the OP wants to back up protected app data, and that simply cannot be done.
I mean backup the app to .apk file to install it on another devices.

If you already purchased it just add your account to other device and redownload.
