Hello,
yesterday i bought Sony Xperia V.
In settings menu-downloaded applications i found some process/aplication "com.android.cts.process.share".
I didn't download it, and i don't know what is this.
Can i delete this app?
I wanted to know what it does and asked already a few weeks back. No reply. I backed it up and then deleted it. Never missed anything.
Thank you.

Hi,
I installed the French ftf from the other thread and now I get the Storefront App (That I am not able to uninstall) starting a Screen-Demonstration Video everytime the screen is turned off or locks. I can temporarily disable the Service, but it just starts up again. Would one of you be so kind to use the Sony Update Service to get his/her flash files (I know, that this will wipe the device, but maybe some of you already backed up their files and just haven't posted them yet or just want to reset their device anyway.) like this.
Thank you, your help is much appreciated.

this used to be fixed by dialing *#*#73556673#*#*
Yep, dial *#*#SELLMORE#*#* and it'll go away.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
Thank you very much, that worked. Nonetheless would it be nice to have a Generic unbranded UK/DE non-Storefront Firmware so I let the post open for now.

Just so you know, all Xperia firmwares contain the retail demo software, they always have There is only one "special" firmware this time around (from the demo units) and it can't be recovered through EMMA, PCC or Update Service yet so we can't create an FTF - and even that special firmware doesn't actually have anything different.
It's really funny to do to friends though, while they're not looking go *#*#SELLMORE#*#* and watch them freak out
I really need some serious help, My phone battery died earlier on today and after I charged it again Android would not decrypt my phone as it says my password is incorrect.
I know for a fact that it is the correct password as I had saved it in my Password manager and have used it many times before.
I found Frost(Forensic Recovery Of Scrambled Telephones) and have seen that there is an option to decrypt the phone. But I really need some help to get it working on a HTC one.
I really need some data of my phone, and cannot factory reset it yet.
Frost can be found here: https://www1.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/frost
But I can only see a Galaxy Nexus version. Has anybody got a version I can use for the HTC one so I could possibly recover some of the most important files?
I really need help on this one guys....
(edit)
The source code is available for it.
I forgot to mention I can't compile it because I have no expiriance in Kernal compilation ;(

I'm even willing to pay some money for someone to compile it for me when I get my wages.
Again this is a real emergancy
After trying my password about a gazillion times it eventualy worked.
Very strange. I have removed the encryption now

I had a similar problem with my Xperia X8 and Xperia PLAY back in the days. Try repairing the software using newest PC Companion.
I don't know if applying someone else's EFS backup is a good idea.
You cant use someone else's backup akaik.

That is the reason I am asking, If I had my backup I wouldn't have requested for the data.
Please, I can give you my efs backup if someone knows how to fix it. Thank you All,

This is my first Sony phone, before I was a Samsung user, I recall that once similar thing happened to S5 user, Community helped him and one of the members had given his backup. I would have done that if someone is in need.
So, say I restore a backup from some other phone, will my phone get bricked?
Thank you Z3C Community

No, but you will use the other phone's IMEI, and that's illegal

No two phones will have same IMEI
When you put same IMEI in phone and connect it to network, it goes from XX123 to XX123 / 1 and etc for all multiple ones,
I am with XDA for years and I know when things are actual illegal.
Anyways my phone is unusable and will go back to Samsung if I cannot get any backup as I have tried flashing multiple times and it seems like it cannot get fixed and this is the only way I can think of
Thanks All!
Anyone?

Hi guys,
As the title says, will i be able to retrieve my lost files after sudden factory reset? i just saw my phone restarted then saw the emui logo which i thought was updating then all of a sudden asking me all the details which was present when using a new phone such as, gmail account, language, time etc.
I already rooted my phone because that was the requirement of all recovery software(dr fone, easeus mobisave, remo) but haven't got any luck of seeing at least some of the files i know was present before my phone did the factory reset.
I saw this post here in xda about internal memory recovery, will it be the solution to my problem? will it work on my phone? or i should stop looking for a solution?
here's the thread i'm talking about:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705
P.S.
after rooting my phone i disabled my wifi/mobile data, removed the sim card and memory card to prevent updates, etc. thus making it overwrite the files i want to recover <- this was the tip present in all sites i visit looking for a solution to my problem.
I learned my lesson now to always backup.
Thank you in advance guys, I hope you guys can help me, sorry if I wrote a long post asking for a solution.
Hi,
I just received my phone today and somehow I managed to brick it. I don't know how this happened as I was only trying to fix a common issue I was having with my google play store ("download pending"). I didn't uninstall anything as I didn't even root my phone. I just disabled some apps like the browser and now im stuck at the zuk logo boot page. I got into the bootloader page and it's asking me for an update.zip file. can anyone please help with this?
thanks
well, at least you can still enter the bootloader page, which means the phone is still alive. Which zuk do you have? Did you try reboot? How many times?
hi thanks for the reply. i tried rebooting more than ten times for sure and i am sure i didn't disable any important apps. My model is the Z2. The model number is Z2131 on the box.
I also tried flashing the phone with a new rom as per instructions on another thread but its only showing no port available and when it sometimes shows something its not qualcomm snapdragon as it said in the thread.
