Hey there,
Im looking for white notification bar icons (batter, wifi, signal, alarm,...)
Do you have any idea where I can find that?
Im running HellyBean 20131022.
Maybe you have an APK that changes only those icons?
Thanks in advance

Found this on a forum for the Mytouch 4g and gave it a try. WORKED PERFECT here is the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846113)
Props to option94 for his post and info
reboot into recovery. Mount /system.
adb shell
rm /system/app/Mms.apk
rm /system/app/mms.odex
exit
unmount /system from recovery
reboot.
adb install attached mms.apk (or move to sdcard and install with method of choice.)
Or delete it from system/app with android commander then push the new mms to the same directory and reboot.
To change the backround color simply hit menu when in your mms then change it in settings !
Confirming works.
Great find, mate! I got used to that blacks are so sexy on this phone.
Thanks, had it for a few days figured i should share. And by a few days i mean all of yesterday and all of today. That was my first order of business after root
Thanks a lot! I always love the black backgrounds over white. Do you know of a way to turn the gmail background to black?

Mms.apk w/ black bg & gingerbread notification icons
I like the new gingerbread mms notification icons, so i took the OP's Mms.apk and updated the old ones with the new. Tested and confirmed working. Installation is same as instructed in OP ; enjoy.

Why pics? They're the notification icons you get when you get a new text/MMS message on stock gingerbread..

Quick Question
I'm relatively new to rooting, but a quick learner. Got this working on my nexus s and it looks great! Thanks for the instructions! Have a quick question however. When a rom is released for the nexus and I flash it, will this installed messages app (black background) be deleted and replaced with the one included with the rom? Or will I have to change this back to the stock messaging apk before flashing a new rom
Depends

Well Hopefully the devs/chefs who make or cook Roms will be kind enough to build this awesome mod into their rom. However when you flash a new rom most require wipes and will likely overwrite the mms.apk in their install anyhow. So either it will keep your current mms.apk or flash one of the devs/choice.
did that answer your questions?

I hate this grey color theme too!:highfive:
I love this phone but I can not get used to.
I am new to here, so I can't link direct this comparioson video:
Type "mobiltelefone.ru" to youtube, and click to the first video and just watch the comparison (Europe Z / Japanese Z) video to experience how better the black UI design:
Please someone help to us, we are suffering!

Unlock the bootloader, root the phone, edit the framework files, done.
If that's too much for you, wait till a) root for locked bootloaders is achieved AND b) somebody else cared to edit the framework files.

I made my statusbar, navbar and also the background of the notification toggles black this morning. I should be able to share an update zip for you all in the themes section later today.
It looks a lot nicer in black!
