Although I love the phone, I do tend to find i struggle to get through the day on one battery charge. Can anyone tell me if there are any specific roms that have been customised with battery life as a priority?
If so which roms should I be looking at? I have also tried to find the latest guide for rooting a HTC one, can anyone point in the right direction?

with my experience, it's seems that AOSP rom have a better battery life.
Just give a try for 2 or 3 days and switch if you are not satisfied

Hi guys.
Have read many mixed reviews about this but was hoping a couple of you here would be able to confrm it.
As we know the battery life on the diamond aint that great, but I have read many mixed thoughts that a rom upgrade would improve the battery life. Is this true?
If so any recommendations on nice rom from the rom section we have on here?
I am currently running the original orange uk rom.
Many thanks, look forward to you replies.
My guess is that the changes are marginal at best, so save yourself from the trouble and order this, http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=166204
Its not marginal. It got me about 1 extra day of usage before i'd have to charge. I changed from original rom to Dutty's cooked rom.
There is also other benefits to changing roms, most important benefit would be speed. The cooked roms usually run faster and more smoother than the original roms.
Thanx guys, I will take a look at duttys.
Will the official upgrade from the htc site be any good?

Nope. Hmmm cooked firmwares generally remove some things which are not used EVER. Also it will clean up the software being ran on the background. And a few tweeks will be made to WM to make it run faster. ie. page memory, etc.
I think its the radio update that makes the most difference. I seem to get better battery life since 'upgrading' to 1.00.25.05 (upgrading is in quotes since my original version was actually higher than that). But then again i also upgraded to a cooked rom (AZTOR X2) so i got a double hit... Certainly very pleased with the extra speed and battery life!
the radio update is totally true. Ive read certain posts where people are getting atleast 3x longer battery using a different Radio.
Such as on one radio it will use about 8% overnight, where as on another radio within about the same duration overnight it will only use 2-3%.
would anyone be able to give me links to these roms and radio's. also a guide would be really handy
thanks
Jon
I'm interested of the rom that make battery life 3x longer...i'm actually using .16(BS), but i don't know if this one is the best.
I'm about to give my phone to my father and I was wondering what ROM offers the best battery life? He isn't much into technology so battery over performance is clearly what I'm looking for. I would hate to give him a phone that doesn't last through the day with moderate use....
This is coming from CM7 2.3.4. I'm lucky to get through the day starting on a full charge with very moderate use. In fact, my battery was nearly out after about 6 hours of use, and 2 hours it was on airplane mode! I just recently recalibrated my battery and it doesn't seem to be any better at all.... Kinda frustrating.
Thanks!
any of the aosp builds are really good but if u dont care about having gingerbread i would definitely go with aosp 9.9.2 froyo.
also aosp 9.9.2 works really good with collins ph batterry tweak and u can proably get three times better battery life with that if u do it right.
Honestly, even if it was eclair I don't think it would be a problem. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to try it out!

Yeah, I think I remember doing that tweak way back when, and it seemed to help a lot. That is the one and only thing I missed about Froyo-- that and the GPS .
and if he wants the sense look i would definitely go with nfx stock sprint rom.
Do you think sense is more newb friendly? That's what I've heard, and if so, I might do that cause, like I said, he's not very technologically literate....
its not that its noob friendly its just ascetically pleasing is all it is.
Alright, thanks! I'll give one of those two a go when I'm closer to upgrading to the EVO 3D (whenever that is).

Ive had ridiculous battery life on Aloysius.
I think its a 2.1. But it lasted the longest for me
Hi,
I found myself getting annoyed at these rather low battery rates that come with the stock 1500mAh, so I figured I wanted a new one. Now my question to you is: what are your recommendations? Should I buy a similar replacement like the one from stock or should I buy a better one or even a third one as well?
I found some other threads here too, but they were all about choosing between one or two batteries, so nothing there.
I don't want anything bulking in my pocket or not fitting my cover so, preferably, it should be stock sized
Any help would be appreciated, and please if you have any specific suggestions please incl. links

Did you try to flash some ROM's and kernels? Updated BB and RIL?
That can make a huge difference, but it depends what you expect to get. One day of use is not a problem, full two days in most cases require giving up on some functions that make a smartphone what it is. But that is considered normal for almost any phone in our class.
I could recommend you Django Manouche 1.1 (1.2 is in the works) with Spica kernel, simplest one without OC and CC. Great combo, very similar to stock ROM, quick and battery friendly
If that won't be good enough, well... you already have some extensive battery related threads here. I see 6 of them on the first page.
At the moment im running owain's kang build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517301
this is however slightly battery draining and I can merely make my phone last a day, but I don't really want to compromise these awesome ics features,

as for this, I mentioned earlier that these were not very useful, as they did only regard one or two battery models
Hello all,
I own an AT&T HTC M7, originally with CID CWS__001. I have SuperCID'd the phone, tried various international edition ROM's, but all seem to eat my battery up like a little kid finding a bag of M&M's. The battery life always seems OK for the first few days, then all of a sudden it begins dwindling at a rate where I can literally watch 1% dropping every maybe 15 seconds while using the phone for extremely basic stuff. Restarts don't seem to fix the issue, and these are mostly Sense 6 ROM's. There are a few older ROM's that also seem to cause me problems, and it can be a hassle to have to consistently keep my apps off of RAM and force close them. So, due to this ongoing issue, I decided to revert back to a stock RUU with my phone, rooted it, and now have no battery issues. However, I hate being stock!
So, since the AT&T section is truly lacking in regards to decent non-stock ROM's, I'd like to get some personal opinions as far as Sense 6 based ROM's that provide good performance and battery life, including firmware/radio combinations. I live in Florida if that would help anyone with this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I haven't experienced this dude. I get slightly better battery life...
This was an incredibly useful resource, with loads of tips on improving battery life but it's gone Anyone got any ideas where?
I'm not very happy with my battery life at the moment, and i'm considering rooting to save battery through some of the root options. Do you think it's worth rooting now, I see there are a few new kernels available, or should I wait for a custom rom to become available.
I've not had a phone before where custom roms aren't available but I see nothing yet for Mi9.
Grateful for your advice.
Cheers

Unfortunately the xda member who created that thread has since left, presumably taking it with them!
I would like to see a guide for a better SOT
I've only just rooted to get L Speed working but it's been on my last three devices with the Battery profile. Between that, Greenify and a quick screen timeout you should be looking at well over a day between charges. Invariably, the screen is always the biggest culprit, also consider auto brightness turned off with a low constant brightness too..
I'll start measuring my SOT now I'm on a stable rooted ROM..
