Is there any particular problem that you need to solve which requires you to use the Stock Rom for South Africa? From my limited knowledge of the Galaxy Note, which i just got less than a week ago, if you are stuck with some firmware issues or bootloop or battery drain, whatsoever, just flash a stock full wipe rom and you should be fine. I would suggest flashing a stock firmware from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 say the first one XXKJ1 and then through the software updater inside the phone, update to the latest firmware from there. Hopefully this helps

All sorted thanks I Downloaded LA3 and flashed with CWM and kept CF root and cwm now using LA1 Kernel with CF root and working fine. My Problem was I was on Revo Note KL7 and could not restore back to my backup as MD5 was giving a mismatch error but everything is sorted out now.
Dear concern, i am using galaxy s i9000, i buy it a 2months used cell, as it was using gingerbread 2.3.3, i doesn't know that if it was an official gingerbread or non official, i flashed it with custom rom's, such as XXJVO, XXJVA... and in those i faced some problems i cannot upgrade the firmware version by kies r itself by the phone, so i rooted with so called official version from this link (theandroidsoul)
and now when i connect my phone with kies it has the same problem "your firmware cannot be upgrade by kies"
Can you plz help me that what should i do to get the official version of the gingerbread. Thank u very much in advance.
Go to sammobile.com and make a login account (its free). From there click on firmware and then click on smartphone and then android and so on. Then find the firmware you want. There are also pdf guides that you can follow to tell you exactly what to do.
Yep, you'll need to manually flash stock before Kies will recognize your phone and it's firmware version properly and agree to upgrade it for you.
With stock on, you can still be rooted and do all fancy things there-in, but the OTA upgrades can and usually do break it.
There are also ROMs that are pre-modded/rooted versions of the official firmware that might interest you, and save you some time.
official version
Dear Talon26,
i did what you said and i did get pretty much of help from there, but i am facing a simple problem how should i get the official firmware of my country Pakistan. Really thanks to you for further telling.

Hi xda-developers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) (hw ver. rev1.2), provided by Vodafone Portugal, and I want exploit the device by installing custom ROMs.
But as you can imagine, I want to be sure that I can revert the device to this state whenever I want. And this is my problem....
I've been searched for tutorials how to do this, but i could not find this specific ROM.
Info after pressing *#1234# :
Firmware Version:
PDA - P1000BUJQ3
PHONE - P1000BUJQ1
CSC - P1000TCLJQ1
Android version is 2.3.6 and carrier is Vodafone Portugal
I also went to a Vodafone forum, and they suggested an alternative by asking a previous version ROM to Samsung (unlikelly): Android 2.2, P1000BUJI4+P1000TCLJI1
I also can't get this one.
Questions:
Do you have any sugesttions where can I get this stock ROM (preference 2.3.6)?
What does people like me normally do in this sittuations on their devices?
Is there any Stock Rom without carrier (directly from Samsung)? Can I install another P1000 stock rom from another carrier (I don't like this sollution) ?
Let me just say this.
You P1000 is no different than all the P1000 talked about here.
Just read all some if the threads here and you know what to do.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app

Thanks priyana, but I want to preserve the original ROM for a eventual revert, and that's what I can't find in any P1000 thread.

Thanks nurusz, but I don't want how to flash the P1000;
What I want is the stock ROM for P1000, carrier Vodafone Portugal (TCL), no matter what version (2.2 or 2.3) and not-rooted
I have 2.3 now in my P1000 (that was never flashed before (only updated via Kies)).
Does anyone provide me any reliable solution to this?
Thank you!
Hi guys I'm running CM11, ICS 4.2.2 on my Galaxy Ace, GT-S5660D and want to downgrade to the original OS the phone came with, I believe it was GB 2.3.6 or 2.3.7. My phone is rooted but I have no idea how to bring it back to the original Android version. Any help would be appreciated!

dont download the rom of I or C variant it will brick your phone

Thanks for the quick response!
I'm not sure what odin is and I don't think I used it when I flashed CM11 onto my Ace.

Thanks this looks promising. But when looking at this site http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...laxy-ace-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82 there's no Canada under S5830, only European countries. Should I download the Canadian firmware under S5830D?

Before you install anything, is your phone GT-5660D or GT-5830? Make sure to download the original firmware for your device. Installing any firmware meant for another device on your phone can, in the worst case, hard-brick your device. As for the firmwares, you can download the one that is near to your region. In fact, any regional firmware for a particular phone will work on it. You can also find all the Samsung Galaxy Ace firmwares in the following link,
[Share] All Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Stock Firmwares (2.3.X) Ever Released
Hope I Helped
I just did it with the help of that thread. Thanks all.

Unrooting is different from restoring or reflashing stock rom.
Not seeing any Firmware for that build
Which Carrier are you using?

Im currently using Cricket mobile. Previously I was using straight talk. Can I factory reset it? If not what would be a good firmware region to download from. I live in the USA. If I can't put the original firmware on it how can I restore or reflash the stock rom. Would it be easier to just upgrade with the newest firmware?

Since you're in the USA you're never going to receive an OTA for the i9295. Your only option is to manually flash the firmware you would like to use. Just looking at the firmware available on sammobile.com, I'm thinking the German XXUDOB4 firmware should work pretty well. I had XXUCNE5 on my phone and had no problems with it living in Washington DC.
