Hi guys,
I usually connect my HTC One with my cars (BMW e91) Bluetooth and all my Google contacts get synced without any issues using Android 4.2. But when I run android 4.3 always the same contacts won't appear on my car. I tested with ARHD v. 30 and Maximus HD v. 21. Both show the exact same "issue".
Did Google changed something in Android 4.3?
All my contacts are stored in my contact's.

I figured out something very interesting. Only contacts which are linked with Facebook do no get synced to my car. Anybody with the same issue? Any ideas how to solve it?

Try HaxSync from playstore. It resloved this problem when I was on cyanogenmod

I have the same problem with my One and Opel / Vauxhall Insignia. With version 4.2, all contacts were transferred to the car phonebook. On version 4.3, only one or two contacts are transferred. The strange thing is, it's not the same contacts that are transferred, it seems quite random every time I start the car.
I can't see any logic between the contact types (Google contact, Facebook contact, with picture, without picture etc.).
In the call log, all phone numbers are transferred, but again, no names.
Any suggestions..?

Bumping this as it is relevant to me on Sense ROMs. I think it's an issue with the Sense bases as I don't have this problem on CM/AOSP. I'm curious if it began with 4.3 or if it started with Sense 5.5 though.
Hi. I found an interesting app in the playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc
Having this installed almost all contacts gets synced. Only a few numbers are still missing.

So I confirmed this an issue on the official AT&T 4.3 release so it's a 4.3 problem on HTC ROMs. It wasn't working properly on the developer edition 4.4 build either that I can remember. You'd think this stuff would pass QA.
Good find on that app. I don't feel I should have to pay for an app that fixes something that HTC broke.
Almost all contacts get synced? That means it still doesn't work 100%.
I'll see if I can remove the Facebook profile information manually as one of the contacts I verified didn't sync isn't even linked to Facebook.
Well all contacts get synced but some numbers are missing. Yeah feels weird paying extra money on an app for a software feature which should be standard on a phone worth 500 euro. But this app is definitely worth the money...cause now I can use my phone the way I want it.

Same problem here. Since 4.3 upgrade not all contacts are synchronised to either my car bluetooth or my motorcycle one. Also my motorcycle tries to connect but the phone prompts for the bluetooth passcode every time. It will not seem to remember it. Tried deleting all pairings etc but no change.
100% Working Solution
The solution for this is to move all your contacts to the sim card. Check the bluetooth settings on the CAR bluetooth to ensure it syncs data from the phone and the sim card.
Once you do that all the contacts will sync. I had the same issue and it took me 2 days (and a flat car battery) to work this out. I know it's not ideal but until it is fixed in a software release this is the only 100% work around i found without trying loads of different apps.
Well 4.4.2 broke the fix above. The only way I've found now is to use Bluetooth Phonebook app from the play store. Everything now works flawlessly as it should do.
Seems to work fine for me with 4.4.2. I have that app installed but pbap disabled in it and my contacts sync fine. Maybe I need to freeze or remove that app and try.

Ok when I froze it before connecting to my car, it's an issue again. The app is still needed in 4.4.2 Sense.

Hi, my mom just got an HTC first, which is running stock android 4.1.2. Everything is working great, except that instant upload is not syncing back to her stock photo gallery. She has Google+ installed and instant upload turned on, and that is all working perfectly. She has a nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2 and the photos she takes on her phone are syncing to her tablet perfectly, but they are not syncing back to her phone. Everything in her Google account is set to sync. I have Force stopped/Cleared Data and cache in the gallery app, but nothing I do gets is to work. I even had her add my dads google account to her phone (set only to sync Google photos), hoping that would force something to work, but his photos are not syncing to her phone either. Please help. I just finally got her to get an android phone because of all the awesome features it has, (Instant upload/Gallery sync being one of them), and it stinks that one of the best features is not working.I know she can access the photos through Google+, but its so much more convenient to have them in your gallery. Thank you for your help...
Does anyone else have this issue? Got my wife the same phone, and the issue is the same. Even if you don't have a solution, please reply with a, "yes I have the issue", or "no, it works for me.” I'd appreciate it.

Same thing here. I just bought the HTC First primarily for the stock android, and now the gallery app doesn't work with Google Photos...
It's weird that it is definitely connected to Picasa, as it can upload pictures to albums.
New stock app fixes this issue
The updated 4.3 Gallery/Camera stock app which was just leaked fixes this issue. It will now properly sync with Google Photos and display all your albums. The camera app is also spiffier as a nice bonus! :good:

Yeah, haven't had time to update, but... What he said! Δ I installed with no problems at all.

Hi all,
First thread and did not see anyone with a similar problem like I have.
I have a black HTC One 32GB. I am coming to this phone after 6 years with the iPhone...so please be gentle.
What I really liked about the iPhone was how uncluttered the software was. Before coming to the One, I was with the S4 and I HATED it. Crappy software IMHO. But the HTC One is a fresh Android experience. Excellent software and I am glad Apple is not the only company we can go to when we need premium software and hardware.
But one thing really bugs me though. The HTC Sync Manager on the Mac. I plan to stick to the Mac for some time an this means I plan to stick to iTunes to manage my music. But I have found the HTC Sync Manager to be really crappy to sync music to my phone. It crashes frequently and before it does this...it runs through the CPU like crazy...continually uses 100 - 140% CPU sending my Macbook's fans into a tizzy. Does anyone have the same problem? Solution?
Note that I have tried the other so called sync programs on the Play store...iSyncr, Double Twist...all of them are absolute crap. Never could get them working consistently. I want to commit to using the HTC Sync Manager.
My GF used isyncr and it worked great on her sgs3.
She uses Htc sync on her mac and it also works flawlessly.
Try uninstalling it and installing the file the comes with the phone when you plug it in. Good luck.

Mine does not run so well either with my Macbook Pro. Tried using the HTC sync and also had that good old spinning wheel popping up
This worked a bit better..
http://asia.cnet.com/this-guide-will-help-you-use-android-with-a-mac-62221359.htm
I also couldn't get any of the software crap to work except for airdroid with doubletwist. Doubletwist is a crappy app but when you install airdroid in your phone and use the WiFi syncing it works great. Most android mac software is crap and it's a shame. It would be ideal to have a premium phone work with a premium computer

The phone is absolutely fantastic...but over the last two weeks...I am getting really frustrated trying to get music to sync on my phone...I have not tried Google music manager because i dont like my music on the cloud and i find it cumbersome to sync music in this way...God..there is always something is it not!
Why sync it? It's just as easy to copy the files into the filesystem. Android isnt like iPhone, you can get into all your files on a computer.

I like to 'sync' playlists and not 'copy' songs...there is a subtle difference here I guess. That is the reason I much prefer a syncing solution.
Coming to photos, I have a set of folders (nested) containing all the pictures I would like to see on my phone. But the sync manager disregards all the nested pictures and throws them into one large, disorganised folder. Anybody know of a workaround ? How are the Mac users syncing picures o the One ?
Mac crashed

Hi. I'm a fan of BlinkFeed....
I'm also a fan of having a home screen page with the large gallery widget.
I know on the BlinkFeed that it has gallery as a highlight option, but for some reason it fails to display gallery images. If I click on the gallery button via BlinkFeed, it says 'no content pull down to refresh'
I'd like it to mix gallery images with everything else that's subscribed to, but gallery is the only one that fails to display.
Any help?

I'm having the same issue, didn't notice it before. i do remember that few pics from my gallery used to appear on my blinkfeed
do you have the data / wifi on ? what happen after you refresh???
It's never worked, the phone is new. I downloaded the tips&help on BlinkFeed, it definetly shows gallery, at first I though I'd have to use picasa.
I pull down to refresh but no images appear. I'll try some settings on gallery

Tried the settings>apps> to any relevant app I could think of to see if I disabled something by mistake. It could be a random named app maybe

Alright, I may have found a connection between BlinkFeed and contact card/my profile on the quick settings tabs. There is a hidden feed on just yourself, like Twitter gallery etc
The thing is, this gallery is also empty

Bit of a solo effort this but I don't mind aha
Ok so this maybe down to settings>accounts&sync>HTC account.
This account has sync turned OFF and is unable to turn on for reasons unknown.

Maybe because I have a Google account sync currently?

I also have google account with sync on bit not the HTC and i remember that it used to works when it was on 4.1.2 but don't remember when it stopped working, after which update i mean.
will search the web more.
sorry for not answering earlier. it's due to different time zones :silly:

one post i found here at XDA that a guy had the same issue but solved it by replacing the gallery app with the 4.1.2 version and it worked for him.
Unfortunately, many people are having this issue without an obvious cause or a solution.
will search more
Is asking HTC a thing that people do around here? Or forbidden haha

Got the same issue. I will try to replace the gallery app, but I don't think so. No one seems to care
I like the option because I like Blinkfeed.
Over the last 3 days apps, specifically Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Samsung Internet and YouTube, won't function properly. They come up with pop-ups asking for a restart but they never do. An uninstall/reinstall from the Play store fixes the problem only to come back after some time. What's going on?

I noticed the same thing with YouTube. I thought it had to do with substratum theme. A complete reinstall fixed my issue as well.
Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
This is for me a common Substratum Issue / Behavior, I've noticed this also under some LineageOS Devices.
As mentioned before a complete reinstall of the Substratum-Theme solves this in 99%, the other 1% is mostly solved by updating the Theme if an update is available.
Gesendet von meinem SM-N950F mit Tapatalk
I tried uninstalling my substratum theme but the problem persisted. It is mostly Facebook that's buggy now. I also forgot to mention YouTube but it's working at the moment. I'd really hate to have to hard reset coz I've gotten the phone to a point where I am really comfortable with it already.

I'm experiencing the same issue with WhatsApp. I've reinstalled the WhatsApp overlay, uninstalled the overlay and even completely reinstalled WhatsApp. It still crashes and asks me to 'restart WhatsApp'. The funny thing is that I'm still able to answer voice and video calls and I'm able to reply when a new notification pop ups. When I try to open the app it force closes itself.
I have the problem with some APPs, some of the settings that I put in the APPS by itself back or not saved.
I have been using the APPs for a long time, even on other devices. I had never been able to observe the problem before.
Does anyone have an idea what this may be?
Thank you very much in advance
maybe after app update settings are resetting to defaults?
Forgotten setting without app update.
My exchange settings in the mail app (aqua mail) and in the phone setting are also forgotten, every time I restart the phone.
I couldn't understand why it happen...

It seems clear now. It was because I disabled background activity on some apps. Some apps have changed some settings in the app, especially the sync settings ..
