I'm running pure stock HTC One 3.62.401.1 rooted/busyboxed does anyone have a mod or steps to remove the Kid Mode from the power menu. I've seen a lot of mods to add the APM. I know it's not a big deal but It would be nice to learn how to remove it.
Thanks.

Has anyone seen a Nexus app, utility or firmware that modifies the power button Longpress menu behaviour. ie the "Phone Options" menu that pops;
Silent mode | Airplane Mode | Power Off.
I am looking to get an app developer to add a new menu item in there within his existing application. He has asked me if I have seen it elsewhere. To which the answer is no. But if I can find an existing app that does it, it might help him work out how to do it.
CyanogenMod adds a reboot phone option to this menu.
Perfect thanks. That was just the sort of thing I want to know. Wonder if simlar sort of mod can be achieved with an unrooted phone.

Probably not...
Okay, so my question is similar to this guy's: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2323390
Sadly, the solution he found did not appear to work for me (guessing it's a sense thing?). Basically, I want the setup that the Sense HTC One has regarding the menu button, remove the ugly ass bar, but keep the button in apps the use it correctly (like google apps such as the play store or chrome), which things like remove 3dot menu does not do.
So far, I have been able to make a long press of the back button bring up a menu with Gravitybox, but have been unable to remove the black bar without removing native menu buttons in apps.
Anyone have a solution for me?
I'm running the latest Sinless Google Play Rom (Sinless 4.1.2 with Android 4.3)

Change the qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to qemu.hw.mainkeys=0? Did that, nothing changed.
EDIT: perhaps I should be more clear. qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 was ALREADY in the build.prop when I opened it (likely because the Sinless Rom Developer put it in there). So, that addition to the build.prop file was in there, and I was still receiving the black menu bar regardless.
I see there is a sense kernel that will do this. I want it bad, but not bad enough to return to stock. Is there any other kernels out there that will turn the HTC logo into a menu button? (Can you even believe they didn't make it that way in first place? What do people do?!!! I have double tap on my home as the menu but barring that, I have apps - XDA and TB for example - that simply don't work without a menu button!)

Hi...looking for help as I can`t find a resolution to this ...I have connverted my HTC one to a GPE running 4.4.2 just cos i wanted to try it.
is there any way of remapping the home/back buttons as you can in the stock sense ROM so that long press home is Menu swipe up for Google Now etc...
can`t see it anywhere in the options and hate seeing the ... menu button taking up scren space in applications.
Thanks
Rick

You could try TeamSeven's kernel. It has options to make the HTC logo into a menu button and offers some swap options as well.

I'm running it on a GPE rom without issue.
I am running stock GPE android 5.1 (though my phone came with Sense). I want to change the capacitive buttons to match the normal google layout i.e. I want to enable the htc logo as the home button and change the home button to display recent apps. Is there a simple kernel that will just do this and nothing else? If not is there a simple kernel that will just enable the htc logo as a button and not give me options to overclock or change a bunch of other stuff? Thanks for your help.

I don't know exactly if you can do that specific option with this kernel, but ElementalX has the aroma installer so you can leave everything stock without having to overclock and you enable just the features you want. I'm running it with Logo2Menu, so maybe there is an option to change the button arrangement. Doesn't hurt to give it a try.

You don't want that feature trust me. It doesnt turn the logo as a button, but puts the sensor a little bit above it, so when you are typing you accidentally open the stupid menu and hit something random, and next thing you know, you are in a video call with someone from madagascar. Trust me dude, you dont want this stupid feature on the htc one m7.
You can also just enable soft keys too instead of using the physical buttons.
There is an app somewhere that actually uses the space above the logo, but this is different then the kernel. I just used the elementalx kernel (which was my backup plan if I didn't find something better). I can't do logo2home and home2recents like I wanted to, but I don't have any problem with accidentally hitting the logo button instead of space. I guess this could be because I usually swipe to type, but I'm testing it now and I have to be off the screen before it hits the button (though just barely). Overall I'd say definitely worth it for me.

Yeah, but if there's already a space for the button...
