Hi, i'm French, sorry for my bad English. OK, I have a GT9000 and a Captivate.Yesterday, I flash the phones (Download mode and Odin)since September so I was stuck many times but this time I need YOUR help. I flashed the GT9000 with a new rom, but it was unstable so I flashed it again with a stuck Rom... But the Captivate stock Rom!!! The phone didn't pass the AT&T animation and rebooted in loop. Try to go in download mode with the Captivate and GT9000 way. Nothing happen. And after 2 hours, the screen stay off, nothing happen. Stay in charge all the night, the top of cellphone was hot. I try to keep the download button pressed and put the battery, with cable connect on the PC and without(removed the battery 30 minutes between all tries). Tried the air-gun. Ordered the kit on Sparken but if the screen stay black...The Captivate is fine...
The captivate rom changes the buttons order on galaxy s , so you need a jig to force into download mode .

I hope it will work because like I said the screen didn't switch on now. I'll be back in France next week to try this method.
did you ever fix this?
Did you try the POT android tools by opda team to put the phone in Download Mode?
hey everyone,
i'm trying to flash 20B HK, but i'm having some issues i didn't have before. when i plug the phone in computer without the battery, and hold volume down, i get in S/W upgrade screen, however it stays on that screen only for few seconds before it goes to white-line-mess. i tried it on two different OSs, win7 and win8. never had this issue before, used kdz flasher to flash 10h when i got the phone, and 20a when it leaked.
i'm on unlocked, rooted 20A EUR-XXX. anyone have any tips on what's wrong??
thanks in advance

skip the steps about removing and putting battery back in. I flashed V20A and V20B this way.

Don't take out the battery, it will be in SW aswell, if you're having problems with device being detected, as soon as you get in SW mode, put back the battery. Don't forget to give time to windows to detect and check the drivers.
leaving battery in did the trick. thank you both!
I've owned my Xperia V for a month after buying it.
I just had flashed PACman ROM and out of habit clicked fix permissions.
It was taking a long time so I pulled out my battery.
I turned it on, the phone vibrated but did not turn on.
Is there a way to recover my phone? Please help!
have you tried flashing the rom again?
Like always, its very difficult to help you when you give so little information...

Sorry.
I flashed PACman ROM to my phone.
Out of habit, I did Fix Permissions.
Since it was taking a long time and thought nothing would happen, I pulled out my battery, put it back in and started to reboot it.
It vibrated a little bit but there was no backlight and the Sony logo didn't appear.
I tried it again the same thing. I did it multiple times and it seems like the phone turns off at initialization.
I tried to use Fastboot and Flashboot modes by using the volume rockers but the LED just blinked and turned off.

Unless you bought second hand then it wasn't.
Repair your phone using PCCompanion.
Hi Guys,
I have used my T-mobile Note 4 for years since it came out. I have replace the batteries once, but like a month ago when there was an update my phone keep restarting and turning off. I then had to get another phone because of that I still cant get it to restart even after I bought a new battery, updated the firmware. can some one guide me the right way to do this right. I think I am not doing the flashing the right way.. with oldin, and the correct firmware. after I do that I get this installing updates andriod show and it stops and reboots again. please help. thanks
- this phone was never locked before
- Replaced the battery once
- one day when there were a bunch of apps that needed update with probably 35% battery I let it update and after that it kept rebooting
- So installed the twrp recovery.tar.md5 from here that didnt help
- So then from sammobile I downloaded the latest firmware and installed it, that didnt help too
So the question is can I just wipe the whole phone and start fresh? -

download and install this using odin
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651442761499080
if that didn't fix Im afraid you have to do the factory reset using TWRP factory reset or android recovery reset

Thank you for your response, unfortunately this didn't work for me I did install the latest firmware , but the phone doesn't go to the stock recovery mode for some reason and keeps rebooting. it does say Recovery booting... but it shuts off. so I have no way to do that even if I keep pressing the volume up, power and the home buttons pressed then release the home and power and keep pressing the volume button.

So I tried this yesterday evening,
- I did install the latest firmware which was suggest in by one of the comments above :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24651442761499080
- then flashed it with philz recovery and did the factory reset and rebooted it but no luck.
- when restart the phone, its shows the Samsung note 4 logo then shuts off.
im afraid to say that your note 4 might bebroken now. If you go to the note 4 reddit, this has happened to many people and has something to do with the solder degrading after a few years iirc. Best thing you can do is buy a motherboard replacement for around 60 on eBay if nothing else works. I have replaced 3 note 4 motherboards for people i know that this has happened to.

- Ran into another issue where I am getting this 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.'
- For some reason the Oldin froze and I had no way to stop the download process.
- I tried using Kies to install the recovery but cannot, I did look for SM-N910T ...but nothing.

^^^This. I just had to replace our two Note 4 after years of service over the last two months. Same symptoms as yours. It is most assuredly hardware related.
Even "better", from the two replacements sent by TMo, one failed within the week. The replacement just abruptly shut off and doesn't turn back on unless the battery is removed for 20 min. or so.
However, once it turns on it freezes. Try to boot to recovery, it freezes before even loading it up. One time the screen display even corrupted on me.
So, tldr, it is time for a replacement MoBo. Good luck!

You have a bad battery, replace with this one dont buy off the eBay they are fake
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072KJRJ45/ref=psdc_7073959011_t4_B06XV8JSKK
The new battery may initially help, but it sounds suspiciously like the mmc is beginning to fail. Wakelock app set to option 4. Only thing that worked for me.

Good luck, my friend!

Why is it that the When I restart the phone show the Samsung Galaxy note 4 powered by Android screen and then when it has to go to the next screen the Samsung (pink) only the S partially shows, freezes and then the blue light comes on and the light now stays on, screen go blank and stays that way even if I do a restart by pressing the volume down + power,

Hello guys,
3/4 days ago I bought a new note 9. I flashed it with a stock firmware from sam and at this point everything seems Ok, but I went to flash the exynos TWRP on my snapdragon and here we go after this step it said passed on Odin and then stuck forever like a bootloop with a vibrate when trying to start.
I tried everything like recovery mode or download mode either not regonized from the pc or smart switch.
I waited also till the battery drain out but again nothing now when I plug into the charger its like going on self but cant start either turn off.
If I do not plug it on a charger it wont even try to start so I guess its bricked but what next?
Do you have United States Snapdragon or China? United States has locked bootloader you can't flash custom recovery.
And you should not have let the battery die.
Sent from SM-N950U Still Rooted Note 8
Someone in the forum said to let the batery die out thats why. And I guess it is a Dubai one. Well I flashed it but when tried TWRP I saw it was the wrong one and here I am.

go read the forums on what different model phones samsung has in the note 9 series. then go read up on rooting and flashing possibilities on these different versions.(and find out which model you actually have)
this is what got you in trouble in the first place... not reading.
then you'll know what to do in the future and how to flash back stock if possible.(including how to correctly go to dl mode if ure device is not bricked and flashing stock firmware with odin). these are things only you can do. the info is there to be discovered.
Ok next time I will but now I need to fix my issue so if you can contribute something for it would be ok and not for the past.

hold vol up + Bixby + power and be super fast and the minute u see the screen change( backlight shut off or feel device vibrate) switch to this button combination:
vol down+ bixby and plug the usb cable from pc to phone.
might need 3 or 4 hands and alot of luck.... or wait till device dies, charge it 5 mins and hold vol + bixby while plugging usb cable and wait till u see dl mode and flash back stock firmware with kdin(hope u read and know what files u need now)
rince and repeat if u missed the button combo and usb plugging steps.
since u didn't flash wrong BL( bootlaoder) u might be able to eventually get out of this jam.
just continue to try...timing is everything
I think he needs the tweeked ODIN too.
