I've owned my Xperia V for a month after buying it.
I just had flashed PACman ROM and out of habit clicked fix permissions.
It was taking a long time so I pulled out my battery.
I turned it on, the phone vibrated but did not turn on.
Is there a way to recover my phone? Please help!
have you tried flashing the rom again?
Like always, its very difficult to help you when you give so little information...

Sorry.
I flashed PACman ROM to my phone.
Out of habit, I did Fix Permissions.
Since it was taking a long time and thought nothing would happen, I pulled out my battery, put it back in and started to reboot it.
It vibrated a little bit but there was no backlight and the Sony logo didn't appear.
I tried it again the same thing. I did it multiple times and it seems like the phone turns off at initialization.
I tried to use Fastboot and Flashboot modes by using the volume rockers but the LED just blinked and turned off.

I unplugged my phone when the flashtool told me to.
Now i can't boot my phone, can't even get to the SE logo.
I tried everything i could found.
SEUS, PCC <- neither worked.
As for flashing, same error, turn on unknown sources and debugging.
Help please..
Are you sure that it´s just a battery problem?

Well tried everything.
I think it's in the 'press back button' mode, cause it automatically bypasses the pop up screen in flash tool.
I reinserted the battery several times as well. Same thing, vibrates continuously if i kept pressing the power button. Oh and the green led flashes when it's vibrating.

Tried everything in the thread..
...i recomend you to retry everithing... that is all we have...
(unplug everithing from batery,sd card and sim card)
only usb cable....
it seams you are in flash mode...
one time i manage to boot xrecovery from my bricked phone after many reboots, if you do it install rom from there.
also try from other pc, from other usb input on pc.
it dont sound like full brick... i think
try every thing even if you are sure it will fail.
But i can't see my SE logo.. I'm guessing that my screen is somehow corrupted?
Oh and i can't boot up at all.
The vibration and green led light comes up continuously if i kept on pressing the power button.
Do not worry... you just need to update your phone with Sony Ericsson's update service. If you had search the general section you could have found how to fix your phone... take a look at here:

I think the best choice is flashtool.
You just download the original firmware that you want (1.6/1.6 chinese/2.0/2.1/2.1 chinese) and flash it directly.
Flashtool also has the advantage that you can flash the baseband (if you already have iton your PC) right after the firmware.

His problem is that SEUS wont work, if YOU had read through the posts you would have seen this.

I saw from another thread that if the SD card was used for App2SD before, it can fuxk up the phone after falling back to stock rom.
Mind to take out the SD, or reformat it before start up the phone?
i think, you should retry SEUS method again. i bricked my phone last time and SEUS seems did not work for me. i tried for few time until somehow it works.

A SD card with two partitions, can negatively affect when install a custom ROM on the phone?
If so, I think I know what's going on here...
It shouldn't.. Lots of people have 2 partitions and never had problems

I rooted my VZW non-dev 4.4 Moto X. Now, I am having a weird problem. I couldn't shutdown my phone! Whenever I press the power button and choose Power Off, it reboots itself instead of shuts down. What can I do?
Oh, let me clarify -- the phone works perfectly. It's not stuck in a bootloop or anything like that. It just reboots normally. The only problem I am having is that it cannot be shut down.

Are you on the stock rom? You may have fastboot on. I had that on and the same thing was happening to me, but not on the moto x, it was on an htc one. But if you are on the stock rom disregard.

I have the stock rom, but if in order to root KitKat, I had to downgrade the recovery. Not sure if something got wrong. But what do you mean by having fastboot on? How do I check it and how do I turn it off?
Many thanks!

Moto G needs USB unplugged in order to shut down
I want to confirm my 1st generation Moto G also kept rebooting after a shutdown / power-off. It stopped doing this after I disconnected the USB cable.
Ohai guys,
Well, I'm quite familiar with all flashing and stuff.
I was updating my mom's phone today, when while updating the phone restarted, and started vibrating 3 times non stop.
The phone isn't detected anywhere, and I tried the reset thingy (The white dot when removing the back cover right?) and nothing else happenned.
If I press the power button, it vibrates 3 times. When I connect to USB, it vibrated 3 times non stop.
Any ideas of what I could do?
I've already sawfamiliar threads, but nothing worked. Any ideas how to unbrick this bad boy?
Thanks
hmm

Disable all vibrations and haptic feedbacks. Check now.
Else, make everything backed up. Try flashing the stock ROM. Hope, this may solve the issue.

Hi all,
Try to help my brother here, he's not that proficient with tech, anyway, he did a software update, and official one, something to do with Lollipop and now his phone keeps restarting. Sometimes it's a boot loop, sometimes it turns on, you get the Sony screen, the powered by Android screen, you a wavy live wallpaper, then the wallpaper freezing and the phone turns off. Just as I type this it turned itself on again, and is going through the same process, wavy live wallpaper now. I've currently got the phone plugged in to charge, doesn't make a different.
He tried using the PC companion tool, or whatever Sony call it, but that did nothing. The SD has been removed so we know it's not that.
One time I got a popup saying "InitialBootSetup is failing to respond, would you like to close it or wait?". So yeah, things are screwed.
I've rooted and flashed things on my phone but not this phone, this phone in completely stock. What should be my next step? Will it even be recognised in adb in this state? Still on that wavy screen moving about, not frozen yet. The power of volume do not respond while this wavy wallpaper screen is going, phone cannot be turned off.
Would appreciate all help that is given, thanks!
Edit: From my understanding the phone was already on Lollipop, this was just an incremental update, possibly to 5.1 or 5.1.1. It's been dead for more than a week now, when he showed it to me today, the first thing it did was show the "Android is upgrading" thing then all of this started, that is no longer showing.

5.1 or latest hasn't been released yet, so that phone hasn't tried to upgrade to higher than 5.0.2 version. If flashmode is working you can give a try to flash stock .FTF
To enter flash mode, turn off your phone completely and wait at least 30 seconds.
After that, whilst holding Volume Down, plug in your phone in USB, LED indicator will flash once and your PC will recognize your phone (I suppose)
And you're free to go

Sweet that did it, thanks. Any chance there's a step by step guide for the next part? Haven't rooted a phone in ages, let alone flashing a file I've never had to flash before. Already got ADB, fastboot and all that, just need a bit of direction on what to do with it.

Ok, you just made me confused 'cause you said you've fastboot and etc., anyway.
Just find any desired .FTF for LB here: HERE
For example, :THIS
After downloading .FTF you need to have flashtool by androxyde. After installing flashtool, put downloaded .FTF into /firmware(s) folder and run Flashtool(/x64).exe
Push the "Lightning" button and choose "Flashmode". Then choose the correct .FTF and check all the checkboxes (or choose what do you want to leave, for example, if you'll untick "DATA", your phone's data won't be touched at all). Then pop-up will come up and you don't need to follow at these instructions, you just have to plug in your phone in Flashmode and after you'll do that release the volume UP button and wait while flasher will end all the process.
And when you'll see "unknown sources has been.." or "flashing ended" you can turn on your phone. It could take up to 15 minutes to load.
By the way, it's recommended to have at least 70% of your battery otherwise you can brick/soft-brick your device.
Good luck!

You're welcome! I'm glad you sort it out and it helped!
I was using CM12 for quite a long time. Then I received an OTA update to CM13. After using it for a few days the device suddenly crashed and wouldn't switch on since then. Whenever I try to switch it on, it vibrates three times. If I connect a charger, it vibrates three times. If I connect to my PC, it vibrates three times.
Sometimes suddenly it boots up and then again crashes in the middle, and vibrates three times.
Is it some kind of hardware problem? :crying:

Hey there! I think it's some infection from the CM ROM. The same happened to me.
The best you can do is submit your phone to the centre, that is if it goes into flashing.
I think it's some ram problem or CM's internal boot file corruption, after the latest OTA.
Search for bricked xperia phones on google and XDA, you may get something helpful.
