Q Android Revolution HD 31.0 Blinkfeed + Twitter - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed Android Revolution HD 31.0 after a clean wipe and everything seems good except for the fact that I can't get Twitter to work in Blinkfeed, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Twitter app to no avail.
Google+ and Instagram work fine.
Twitter used to work for me in Blinkfeed when I was on the 4.3 Developer Edition ROM
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks

Figured it out

Uninstalled and reinstalled Twitter (though I think a clear data would probably work too)
Did NOT open the Twitter app or add a Twitter Account through settings
Instead I went into Blinkfeed -> Topics and Services -> Services & Apps and clicked on Twitter
Get prompted to enter uesrname and password
Then get the Authorize Twitter for HTC Sense screen et viola Twitter is back in Blinkfeed

What Rom are you using?
This is what I did after I faced a prob.First check with some app like rom tool box ->root browser etc that your /system/app/ folder got HtcFacebook.apk if its there do as follows. If not ask your rom developer for that file.If its there do as follows and see..

After switching to v 4 pictures of my Facebook contacts went missing.so i installed Facebook from market .still it wouldn't show my contacts fb pic.So i removed htc Facebook apk in /sys/aps .Then i extracted a apk from another rom and pasted and fixed permissions .Now i cannot add fb account.
I even tried restore from titanium back up but no use.
What shall i do?
adding market one wont sync my fb contact pics still..
even tried apk from niks v4 rom
got it fixed.
strangely after installing face book for android (from market)this time i selected the option dont sync oppose to sync with contacts...and htc sense started syncing my contacts..strange apps....hope this help any one facing the same prob...

This is because HTC decided to remove the Facebook for HTC Sense app in all Sense 3.5 ROM. Now you have to install the official Facebook app to sync your contacts. If you have a task manager, you can see there's still a Facebook for HTC Sense process but I guess it can no longer work on it's own and must depends on the Facebook app.
This implementation has also other implications. For example, many people reported that Whatsapp cannot show contact pictures from Facebook anymore even though they're linked.

[Q] Android Revolution HD drawbacks

Hi guys,
I have a quick query. This week, I downloaded and flashed the Android Revolution HD Rom for my HTC One and also flashed the aroma mod to have the htc logo be used as an option button. After flashing the rom, I noticed that I could no longer add new gmail accounts to my mail app through the "accounts and sync" option in my settings. The option to add new accounts is just gone, and I am wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I've flashed a new rom. Does anyone know if Android Revolution HD has any drawbacks like it locks you in to using only the apps native to HTC or something like that? I really don't know what the problem is or if this has been an issue that was there since before I flashed the rom and only noticed today. If anyone else has had this issue and resolved it, could you reply and write what you did to solve it? I am also open to suggestions, so please suggest as much as possible. Thanks every one.

Did you do a full wipe when you installed? Also, what recovery are you using?
To answer your question, No there is no sort of "limitation" on any apps at all. You can use whatever apps you please

The issue you have is not due to ARHD and there are no limitations at all (other than Android base compatability as with all roms) on the apps you can install. I suggest you reflash selecting wipe in the installer and see if this fixes your prob but don't use the HTC logo mod just in cas this is the cause.
Good idea but the issue was much simpler

So the solution was very similar to this one. First I kept messing around in the settings window and after tapping on the + in the upper right and then tapping everywhere, I was finally able to find out that to add a new account to my gmail I just had to tap on the google logo after tapping on the + in the upper right. Another thing that helped a lot was clearing the data for the gmail app. Thank you for your response @rider5512 :good:

Black/Inverted Gmail and Chrome for HTC One M8?

I found several inverted apps that work for this phone, but can't find ones for Gmail or Chrome that work. Does anyone have black versions that work?

I'm using TBO's inverted GMail on my M8 right now and works perfectly....haven't tried Chrome yet but I would be highly surprised if it didn't work for us^^

A search will find a lot of inverted app threads on XDA. You might want to try the Team Blackout inverted apps. I haven't tested them on the M8, but they work well for me on another handset.

I searched and found those threads (and installed the TBO app as well), but was unable to get an inverted Gmail app that worked for me.

Can you point me to the Gmail.apk you used? I've tried the Team Blackout version on Viper ROM and Renovate ROM and in both cases, after uninstalling the original Gmail app and installing the blacked-out apk, when I try to open it I just get an instantaneous force close before the app even opens. "Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped." Reboots don't change anything either, unfortunately. Also tried with and without XPosed framework installed. Any ideas?

I'm guessing you have the right file but it's designed for AOSP, like the ROM I'm running. You listed 2 Sense-based ROMs so that's what leads me to believe it...that and that the download links(that I've rfound) are usually within an AOSP ROM thread.
I got this one from the Dirty Unicorns thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633324
(I know it's not for our phone but it's a similar phone and the rom is kit kat...I didn't have any issues with it)

Exchange issue? Can't add exchange account to Gmail app.

I am unable to add my exchange account to the Gmail app, however it works perfectly in the stock email app. I was able to do this without issue on my Nexus 5. Is this something to do with the exchange services on my device or something else?
Sent from my XT1095 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't think the MX's gmail app has been updated to include that yet.

Here is what I did to make it work. You have to add the exchange services plug in first, then install GMail. What I had to do was install an older version of the GMail app (one of the 5.00 releases) and then it automatically updated later to the latest Gmail release but is still working.
So, steps I took were:
1) Disable stock Gmail app
2) Install Exchange Services 6.5 update first
3) Installed Gmail 5.0 (1569867)
4) Later updated to latest Gmail version 5.0.1 (1642443)
I got all the update files off of ap mirror website.
Thanks,
Rick

thank you, i know that is what i had to do on my N5, but that was when the gmail app had just recently got exchange support.
As far as I know, that is the process that still must be followed. It is a somewhat frustrating to still have to do this as my experience has been hit or miss with it working consistently.

I can't find Exchange Services on the Play Store anymore... Is there another way? Like remove the updates + desactivate the E-mail and Gmail app. And then reactivate the E-mail app, updating it and the, doing the same with the Gmail app?

Latest update of Android System WebView makes stock mail client unable to reply email

Hi
After updating to the latest version of Android System WebView (48.0.2564.95) the HTC stock email klient stops when I try to reply an email.
If I uninstall the update the mail app works again.
I'm running Android Revolution HD 93.0 rom
Any suggestions?
I could skip the update, but I assume that it contains relevant changes.
Thanks
Am I really the only one who has this problem?
i got same issue
Same problem with the update 48.0.2564.99 from the 2016-01-29

Are you using AR-HD or stock rom?
Still not working with version 48.0.2564.106
Same here.
I´m using ARHD 91.1.
For testing i have installed ARHD 93.0. All good until i updated the Apps with PlayStore. Android System WebView ist gulity. I tested four or five 48.0.2564.x Builds. Nothing.
But 47.0.2526.99 (from here) works.
More Informations here
In any case HTC released an update to HTC mail that should solve this issue. It was rolled out this week
I have a htc one m7 with ARHD 92.0, but I cant get the update. As HTC have stopped support for it. Any Suggestions for people in this situation?
