[Q] None of my flashed roms are working! - Sprint HTC One (M7)

So, I 've working with this for a few days and I know I missed something, SOMEWHERE..
So I was usnig the pacman rom for htcone, but needed to return it to a stock rom to take it to the Tech store(defective camera I think).
Now I went wrong when I acidently relocked my phone before flashing anything,
After I unlocked it one more, somehow my rom was erased along with EVERYTHING,
So with some work I was able to a Recovery(clockwork) and tried to flash ANY rom just so i could have my phone functioning again.
I went through
-the Stocked Rom - odex
-Viper Rom
-stock with goodies -
-1.29 Ruu - Flash failed
-Pacman nightly
All the roms that flashed sucessfully, they only make to the home screen for about a a minute then it restarts on its own and then im stuck in a loop. Each behave differntly but they all end up with the same result
- Stock rom - odex : Lets you setup but when you reach the main screen, screen shows nothing and the app drawer has nothing on it.
- Viper Rom : Doesnt make it to the home sceen but just loops
-Stock w/Goodies : Im able pull up the lock screen but when i do, it only shows the HTC logo.
-Pacman : Makes it to the home screen but keeps giving erro that "andriod.phone" has stopped responding indefinitely.( apps were visible)
I have H.boot 1.44 / S-ON with htcone Sprint of course.
+ I do factory Wipes after each flash (cache and devilk)
+ As far as I know nothing is wrong with my recovery image
+ I did NOT install gapps with the roms, so not sure if that would cause these symtoms - as that has never happened before.
+ I tried to use revone through AllIinOneKit but it never goes through correctly.
I have yet to make it to the part where i can enable usb-debugging so I just recently was able to get my pc to recognize the phone for the 1minute that it has before it restarts.
PHEW! WIth all that being said, with the information i brought to you, what in the World could be wrong with my phone that no rom that I've tried so far is working and how Do I return it to a functioning state? Is it the s-off? Or something that I totally neglected?

G1 possibly bricked; stuck in recovery console [researched]

i will try to be as detailed as possible. im coming from the kaiser community so go easy on me
when i had recieved the phone it would turn on go past the tmobile g1 screen and go into the recovery console. the console read. JF 1.41.
after reading around the best option i got was reverting everything back to factory settings.....and so i did. i installed the factory spl went back to rc29....then updated to rc 30 and installed the new cupcake.
everything was fine except for i couldnt get the phone activated given im an AT&T user.
this morning i finally recieved the unlock code from tmobile and when i turn the phone on with the att simcard, it gave me the triangle with the exclamation screen.
so i hit alt +l then alt w and after a reboot it would bring me back to the same screen. Also this recovery screen is diff from the jf 1.41 (im guessing this is the factory console).
now im out of ideas as to how to get this phone back in order. i would love flashing the DREAIMG.NBH but sadly my phone refuses to go in bootloader.
ive been trying to hold camera+ power and its jsut loads up the tmobile g1 screen.
any and all advice/helps are appreciated.
-thank you
so this is totally weird. i leave the phone unplugged with the battery out for about 3 hours. came back to work on it....turned it on and well it loaded and got me to the home screen ( no sim card ).
so i powered off the phone and inserted the AT&T simcard turn it on and it shows me the same screen again with the triangle and exclamation point.
how do u explain that ?!
pressed power for 3 seconds and then let go and held down the back key. it flashed the bootloader tricolor screen and then said ""everything will be reset to factory defaults .press send to reset"" and when i did that there was no change........nothing happened. ended up pulling the battery out..
Same problem..
I have very similar problem.. but mine takes much more than 3 hrs to come back.. and even then , the task manger keeps popping up from time to time in the home screen ,, so i guessed my home button was stuck or something...
After i found your "problem Sovled" post in another theread on 11th oct ..i thought i better take your suggestion before taking phone apart..
I was on 1.5 version and 2.22.19.26I radio. also i do not know whether i'm in RC29,30,33 ..
i'm really confused about all this radio, firmware ,recovery things....
Please Guide me ..
well first you need to get in your ph to find out if u have rc29. if you are able to get to home screen just hit menu - setting - about phone - all the way down it'll tell you what you are running.
i followed this guide to help me flash it to the cyanogenmod rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563679
hopefully it helps. but if you are able to get into bootloader unlike me then jsut flash the rc29 hopefully it will solve your problem.
my home key acted like it was stuck but now everything is working fine.
Thanks for Replying so quickly ..
I managed to go to the bootloader screen(tricolor) ..actually it went without even pressing the camera button(any idea why??) after leaving the phone without battery for about 5 hours.. and i flashed the Dreaimg-RC29 file .
Since then i'm Stuck in recovery mode again.. but this time the recovery utility is different (yellow letters)..i.e hopefully RC29 is succefully installed.
I wanted to complete doing your suggested guide before asking any more questions, but now i unable to so what shud i do now?
IS the task manger popping up involuntarily sometimes for you in the cM builds?
Can it be that you had a hardware button issue, which somehow rectified itself when going to Cyanogen..
I really appreciate your taking time to answer my questions ..
well sounds like jsut what had happened to me.
make sure you have tmobile simcard on you with a dataplan.
you're going to have to leave your phone off without the battery or just turned off for a while. from here on out it was trial and error. i kept trying to turn the phone on hoping it would go past the recovery screen once it did i activated the phone and finally completed the root process.
as for the cyanogen mod rom i think you are right. though on my initial flash i had a bunch of force closing apps but it all fixed itself upon a restart. ever since then i haven't seen the recovery mode every time i boot it.
PS: that reocvery mode that you see is the stock recovery meaning yes u have flashed RC29 sucessfully.
so i jsut flashed to CM 4.2.3.1. and well im back to square one. im booting into the recovery by default. obviously confirming my doubts about the hardware problem.
im going to try and leave the phone off for a while and see if i can get it to load up. usually that solves my problem.
Oh..
Thats depressing.. Anyways... Lets do it together then I have kept my phone unsed for about 16hrs now.. hope it works ..
Have you tried the HTC Diagonistic program for g1 (DREADIAG.nbh) ?.. I am yet to try it out as i cannot go to the bootloader..
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7NRX7H40
which version of cyanogen were you using before this happened?
i have not tried diagnostic. iw as going to use ADB to push the recovery on there but it went into bootloader.
i was using cyanogenmod rom 4.1.9999. now i have updated to 4.2.3.1.
actually iw as working on it last night. i re did that whole guide except for downloaded the new rom and flashed it.
so as of now once again that hardware flaw is gone and the phone is working fine.

Did you update from 4.1.9999 straight into 4.2.3.1? If so, that's the problem (maybe).. I suggest you install the HTC 1.6 ADP Rom (link in the cyanogen 4.2.3.1 post) then upgrade to 4.2.3.1. Make sure everything is updated.... rom, recovery & spl (before you upgrade SPL make sure you have the most recent radio version first! or you'll brick the phone). then give it a try and see what happens...
you are right. the first time i just flashed the new rom. the second time around i followed the guide except for i flashed the latest cyanogen rom.
I'm not able to make it go to the home screen even after so many attempts..
i could only manage to go to the bootloader screen once and flashed the RC29 and i'm stuck there
Can you elaborate on how you got to the Home screen , like how long you keep it off or press which buttons to start ?
I'm not in the US , and have bought this phone from Ebay (new, never used) from a seller with good feedback for G1 (wanted this phone very badly). I was using the phone for barely 3 days when i did a factory reset from the phone and this problem started occurring .
IS there anything else i can do..?
Thanks for Helping..

how did you flash the RC29? after pressing the power button
did it give you any errors? once its flashed, reboot by pressing home and back (or w/e the SPL tells you to)
it should boot into the rom
Home button problem (repaired/solved)
Firstly, thanks for responding ..
I had flashed RC29 when it had gone to the tricolor bootloader screen on its own
but after that it would not go anywhere other than recovery(exclamantion mark)
Now good news
4 hours back i opened the phone again(third time) , and took a safety pin and started scraping(gently) the non shiny parts of the connector ( daughter board to main board) .
I think it was previously shorted near that area , so by scraping removed the shorted metal joints .. and now the phone booted up to RC29 (just like that) and i even installed the cyanogen mod ..
Many thanks to u all .. hope this Comes UP in google search for people with similar problems(and there are many)...
KEYwords: Home button stuck on recovery no booting
Ah wow didnt think of that lol.. glad to see you got it to work

[Q] Stuck at the X, move on to a new phone?

I recently bought this Nexus off eBay and it worked fine.
Owner said it had problems with the SD card, but it seemed to be working, for they said it wouldnt read, when it does.
Anyway, it had cyanogen mod 6.1.1 on it, and I hate the setup...so i changed roms. That was a success, but when i flashed a sense rom thru clockwork(most updated) it said:
E:Error in /sdcard/N1Sensation_v0.4.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
Now, when i flash any roms, whether it says it installed correctly, it doesnt change anything. Now it's stuck at the 4 color x with the unlock icon. Any advice is good advice!
In my hboot, it says:
*** UNLOCKED ***
NEXUSONE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.35.0017
MICROP-0b15
TOUCH PANAL-SYNT0103
RADIO-5.00.00.04
Oct 12 2010, 14:33:16
HBOOT
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Thanks for any help!
Edit: I fixed the issue with why it failed, was my fault, didnt partition the card...but i was flashing a stock rom and it said complete and when i rebooted it stayed at the X and then powered off. Since then has never turned on. I don't know what to do. Nothing will turn it back on. I have a universal charger that charges the battery and it said the battery is full. I need help!
Ok lets see here try this plug in the charger then pull the battery place it back in wait a few seconds and repeat until you see the splash screen (the static X). This could get the phone to at least boot.
But just to check did you flash a radio in all that stuff??

That did not work. I work at a cellphone repair store, but im yet to open it up. But i flashed a sensation rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083035
After then i got stuck on the X
Then i used... well i cant find the link, but it's PureGoogleMod.
From what I saw, there was no radio or kernal being flashed. I just know i flashed a rom, it said completed, then went to the X, rebooted, but never turned on. And ive tried other batteries.

Try flashing CM7. Also...before you do...you may want to search for a format.zip from a member named temasek. It'll wipe your phone...clean. Real clean. Then flash CM7. try that.
also....those sense roms sometimes take at least 5 minutes to boot. Sometimes it'll stay on the X screen for 5 minutes or it'll stay on the bootanimation screen for 5 minutes. FYI.

I can't flash anything. Phone wont react to anything anymore. Hoping one of my family members can fix it. But if I get it on I will try that.
I am pretty sure i waited long enough, but who knows. I didn't partition my card, which may have been the problem. And also it was S-On....which i thought was odd when it had a custom firmware.
Unlock bootloader. Flash recovery. Boot into recovery. Wipe everything. Flash rom.
Why do you guys keep suggesting software stuff when it's probably a hardware problem he can't get the phone to boot up so he can't do any of that.
Although there is one thing I want you to try before your family take a crack at it to take it apart and what not, it's a long shot but it's your last chance if it's software. Hold down trackball and press power keep holding trackball for another 5-10 seconds (better to long then to short) then connect it to the computer via USB you could see a popup notification saying that it's looking for driver software if you do then it's software and we need to reflash everything and might need to unlock the bootloader. Now if you don't see a popup notification I would still go check in the device manager and check for an unidentified device probably in other (it should be extracted so that you can see it).
If this doesn't work then sorry but I think it's a brick
Because in order to find out if its truly a hardware problem you need to try every software fix first.
Op mentioned nothing of trying fastboot as well. Software fix is free hw is not. That is why we suggest software fixes.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Let me remind you guys, THE PHONE WONT TURN ON AT ALL REGARDLESS OF WHAT I DO. I can post a YouTube video to show everything. It'd be very random for it to be hardware because it just turned off and will not turn back on. If there is any software like an RUU out there, that would help, if not, ill have to buy a bottom piece and warranty it out. But I'd feel bad because that isn't the right thing to do.
I don't expect you guys to fix it and I and very thankful of your help! But the phone won't turn on at all. So telling me to flash roms doesn't work. Imagine it as flashing a rom with the battery out of your phone. I am wondering if there's an adb way or something to get it to turn on and restore to stock?
With all that said, any help is amazing help and I am very grateful that this isn't a post I have to bump! Thank you so much, when I go on the PC, ill thank the helpful posts
Sent from my (finally) permanent root Sensation 4G
Then it is a brick if it won't turn on at all. The entire getting stuck at the x thing confused me to think it was powering on.
You have me confused sir, I'm not quite sure what good it is your looking for a RUU for. If the phone truly won't turn on/go past the X screen and you have it on a charger with no LED notification, then the phone is bricked. When you said you flashed a Sensation rom, I truly hope you just meant a Sense rom. If you can still get to the bootloader screen then you are not bricked and should retry everything from scratch.

[Q] Sprint HTC One reboot issue

I got a Sprint HTC One last week, rooted it, s-offed it and flashed several ROMs on it.
My problem is that in every ROM I've tested, the phone reboots after a couple of minutes.
Here are the ROMs I've tried so far:
- CLEAN ROM SPR 2.5
- CM-10.1-20130714-NIGHTLY-m7spr
- MIUI_m7wls_signed_07042013
- Slim-m7spr-4.2.2.build.7-OFFICIAL
- Sprint_HTC_One_1.29.651.10_Stock_Deodexed
- Sprint_HTC_One_1.29.651.10_Stock_Odexed_05.17.13
- Stock_w_Goodies_One_1.06
- viperROM_One_v1.1.0
I'm using TWRP 2.5, advanced wiping: dalvik, cache, data, system before flashing the ROM.
Does anyone have sugestions?

I guess that's a slightly different problem then mine.
My phone is S-OFF already and I've wiped and flashed almost every single ROM out there and the phone reboots (doesn't shutdown) every 2 minutes...
After I read some other similar issues, I'm guessing I'll have to use a RUU tool to fix the problem. The other problem is that I only have Mac and Linux...
I've read a post advising to copy the ROM file to the root of the phone's internal storage in order to do a proper flash.
Since I was always flashing the roms directly from an external usb thumb drive, I thougt it was a good idea.
I copied Android Revolution 2.5 to the phone's memory, wiped everything and flashed it. Installation whas OK so I rebooted. When selecting the wi-fi network on the initial setup I received a message saying "avoiding poor signal network" even thoug my router was about 10ft from me. After finishing the initial setup I rebooted the phone and then it got stuck hard.
Even when pressing the power button for over 20 second it didn't shut down. Now I'm waiting for the battery to die so I can see what happens on the next boot.
Again, if someone can help me on this situation, I'll appreciate it...

press the buttons while holding phone under a bright light and it will reboot, if that rom was a 4.2.2 rom from the intl. forum you're going to have to ruu it.

I've only used Sprint ROMs but still got those freaking reboots. Only by using RUU (provided by viperboy) I managed to solve the reboot issue.
Now I'm waiting for a software SIM Unlock solution, since I'm in Brazil an cannot unlock it OTA.
I'll post an update here as soon as I have a solution...

Totally stock phone now totally broken

I like my Sprint M8 and I've avoided messing with it because I'd hate if it got bricked. It got bricked. In my pocket. Somehow. Seriously, I was using it like normal, put it in my pocket for maybe a half hour, then took it back out without having even moved from my seat and it's off. I assumed it somehow died but when I plugged it in it became obvious that wasn't the issue. It doesn't really seem to care what I do with the buttons, but eventually it'll end up in fastboot mode and nothing else. Any of the options just result in a black screen. Sometimes I get a charging screen though. HELP.

Only goes into fastboot. If I try to hit recovery or factory reset, or basically anything that goes outside of fastboot I just get a black screen. I just bought a new phone (Pixel) so it's not a big deal, but I still really like my M8 and if I can fix it I will.
I have run into that a few times with mine and Was ALWAYS able to fix it .
Its just being stubborn. If you have Fastboot you can FIX IT
Is it rooted and bootloader unlocked

It's totally stock and unrooted. I tried RUU about a thousand times, every time it gets to the rebooting into fastboot or whatever stage where it times out and fails because the phone takes minutes to turn back on and go into fastboot no matter what I do with the buttons, even if I don't touch them at all. My battery was fine, I think. Still lasted the whole day just fine. Stays on when I disconnect it.

Want a new ROM the current one totally bugged

Hello guys,
Currently I run Android Revolution HD 93.0 by mike1986
HTC Sense Version: 6.0
Android Version 5.0.2
Recently dunno what happened, but my phone randomly stucks in the boot screen with the HTC logo and I need to restart it like 10 times till it runs properly again.
My question is, how do I install a new custom ROM when I already have this one ? Do I need to return to a stock ROM or something till I can flash a new one or ? I have no clue. Thanks in advance.
Btw. If any of you can help me find what causes this problem my phone to stuck in the boot screen I'll be more than happy.
I can't remember which app did this, but I remember receiving the notification on my phone to chose how to install the new update for this app, and there were 2 options
- Normal install
-Install through Recovery (recommended) and I think I clicked the Normal install option and since then the phone stucks randomly in the boot screen.

Yeah I've done it many times in the past on my old HTC Desire and now on HTC One by following step by step guides. However I totally lost interest in these custom ROMs and etc. in the past year and basically forgot everything, but when there's something urgent I always come back here to ask for help
However I think I fixed the stuck in boot screen issue by upgrading my TWRP to the latest version, no idea ... but now whenever I start the phone it turns on normally and there are absolutely no problems.
