[ROM][GB]MokeeOS-Nexus s V1.10.436(AUG.24.12)

Hi Everybody,
This is my first ever rom on XDA. I am not a dev, i just ported this GB base rom to nexus s. I already tested everything. It works fast with out any problem. Also I have to thanks Galaxyuser who helped me to fix googleplay fc. As you know He ported this rom already to nexus s. This is the latest version of mokeeOS.

Note1: Gapps already included
Note2: If you have problem with su permission simply just flash this .zip file and youll e good. The problem is, mokee team has included the SuperUser into the rom, I tried to removed it but its related to framework stuff.
Installation:
If you are coming from ICS/JB roms you need to perform a fullwipe.
Issues:
- The only thing I have noticed so far , when you press About phone in setting you get FC, but other than that everything else works smooth.
P.S: This rom is meant to be for who want to experience a new GB rom with new UI, So please dont spam my thread. Also I am not responsible for whatever can happen to your phone. Flash it at your own risk.

Buddy, I did not ask you to flash this rom. if you dont want to flash please dont spam the thread and wait for JB rom to release.

What launcher are you using? I know galaxy user put go launcher but I didn't like it. I prefer gb over ics because it's a memory hogger!

Never heard of MokeeOS. Care to tell me what is so special about this ROM? It looks interesting.

Any plans for a 4.04 version? Can't seem to go backwards; heck Jelly Bean is even out.

The original mokeeos launcher. it looks like adw launcher but much faster than adw.

I agree. You're going to have a difficult time finding people to run this on their phone. People don't want to downgrade.

Flash it and you'll find out. It is faster than cm7,also the ui is completely different.

Guys im not trying to force anybody to flash this rom. I just port it to my device and just wanted it to share it here on xda. If you dont like it ill close the thread.

budd, I presonaly, flash all roms on my phone with out asking the op. If i find any bug i uninstall it,and i flash something else. i told you this is just like cm7 rom with a bit changes in ui and speed. thats all i can tell you.

While you may use it, I think you might be flogging a dead horse here seeing as nearly everyone is waiting for JB proper. I am sure its a good ROM but its a bit like trying to sell a VCR player when Blu Ray is out.

Hes not forcing anyone to downgrade nor is he trying to sell an old product. hes simply trying to share his own work. if you dont like it just click back, dont post about how no one wants it.

I agree with u first of all this is in the wrong section and first we have got to get a fully working 4.1.2 JB and 3.0.52 kernel then we can proceed further !

No we don't need 3x Kernel would be just better because of new possibilities and performance, but it's not a must. Look cm10 working very nice on 2.6x...

I think he was trying to say that first we must make the base stronger (both kernels have almost everything working) before we proceed to the next step

well, on the contrary a 3.0.x kernel is a necessity for android 4.2. i didn't have time to build myself to test,but i googled about it and found out that 4.2 requires ion and will not function with pmem. unfortunately 2.6 does not have ion support and has pmem. arco on his google + page has said the same thing. although we can get a working build using the latest 3.0.52 kernel, but without camera.

Yeah this is true. 3.x kernel is needed for this. Hopefully it got built correctly but I'm going to be out for a few more hours.

Yes they are! I'm learning java and Linux command to write camera drivers and compile the kernel with it...I know I'm a noob, but why don't try?

That wasn't his question but great to hear that. Anyway, I couldn't test it yet. I don't know what is and isn't working. I am not even sure if it compiled properly.

I do not get your problem...
We have a partial working 3.x kernel and a partial working 4.1 build, will not take long until we get it right and get CM0 to the level of CM9.
Well, here is the interesting part, xda is for developers and testers, users willing to sacrifice functionality and stability for... well... development! So normal users can use CM9, it is bug-less and with a ExOV - OC 2.6 kernel, it is a great device, better than what Samsung would have done!
I am now using Alpha 4 of 4.1 with kernel 3.x and I am quite happy
PS: You do know there is a 4.1 to 4.2 convertion pack, right? It gives you 4.2 capabilities on 4.1! Try it!

Android 4.2 has many bugs. A stable Android 4.1.2 would be nice and is a big advantage.

yes someone is working on 4.2 but.. you know.. they try to make 4.1 full working and of course 4.2 after. Look in i9001 android development for Tutorial Build CM10 ( 4.2 building )

There is no stable MIUI 4.1 for I9001.

We allready have a miui JB... the person who ported it is he same who ported miui ics and miui gb for our device (i forgot his name). Only it didnt work that well and the porter said he wanted to stop porting miui jb (i forgot why but he had a good reason. Maybe this is the same rom... some russian dude downloaded it and posted it on a russian forum...
Oh and maybe this is huge.. but you asked a question, so this isnt a development thread.

You could try with 3.0.61 kernel by ivendor. Is really really stable and smooth.

You can ask Alex more about it. But as far as I know and my experience concerns, it either doesn't boot or the system fc's.

Change Kernel on MIUI JB brings lot of bugs ... Then, it's not recommended.
I modded the kernel from CM, to work with MIUI, then if you replace this kernel with an other, my mods won't work properly, and MIUI will have bugs.

Anyways Checkout my attached Changelog.txt... and yeah, if you want me to add anything else, then do tell me

Seems pretty good! One suggestion replace the stock systemUI with the nexus 4 one in the themes section. Really in demand!

But there are already 2 ROMs trying to replicate Nexus 4 look (i.e AOKP styles) so I want to go for something different..

For me all of them are themed + added some init.d scripts. Some modding (Ripple unlock, 15 toggles...). Why no one provides inprovement in performance with some testing app? Or extended battery life with sceenshots of it. This is just mine thinking, maybe I am wrong.

Changes in ur rom:
1. Remove note 2 popup browser..its a waste
2. Copy the bootanimation file from jellymod or pure vanilla rom(nexus animation)..its awesome.
3. Try to add the X4 video player from xperia Z..it can play 4 videos at at a time.
4. Keep the nature ui touchwiz launcher.
5.Make it d smoothest of all roms :thumbup:

2. If both ROMs have the same Boot Animation, then why would I keep Nexus one? I was planning for some other animation, but I will add Nexus one as an add on
3. Can I directly use the apk or should I port it first? Note that I have no idea how to port an app

Our screen isn't big enough for pop up browser. So it's a waste

well your right Nature UI touchwiz launcher is really smooth i'm using it on my rom but only when im working on the phone and then mostly i use nova it's the prime AOSP feel well good luck with the Rom and yeah be careful do make a backup with CWM or TWRP of the system before flash or your S Advance dies

But I have used it on my Phone.. it was a port for S3.. I just took its apk from my friend's S3 and it worked on my phone as well
But since I have removed Stock Browser from my ROM, I wonder if the Popup Browser would work or not as I think it needs the Stock Browser as well...

Try all of them and choose one which suits the best for you

[Request] Port Boot Manager pro or Dual boot

I am new to this forum but whenever i need any kinda mod for my s advance i always consider this your threads
Now days i was searching for dual boot or multiboot but the only thing i could find was an unsupported app or kernel for s2 or s3
All of you developer are porting Rom from s2 or taking help of open source
but i request can anybody create a kernel with dual boot or port a simple app for our s advance

If sombody gonna work on this project it is only going charm our s advance other can easily swap btw stable and unstable rom n it may also some beta tester too so we really need to work on this its a request to upgrade phone

Our devs are work on fixing CM. You think this is more important than it now?

It can be done. But, it's not worth the time now.. Let's first fix cm which is the top priority! We can always experiment when we have stable cm..
