Currently no. If someone can remove the Google Play Licensing Validation, then we could push Tasker. There's an apk called "Lucky Patcher" that removes those sort of validations from apps (probably not legal in the slightest). However, Tasker is one of few that are considerably hard to emulate a paid purchase, causing Lucky Patcher to have no effect. So, no, not currently, but I'm working on removing that restriction and testing.

You're phone, by default, should detect your watch as a media headset or something similar. So, you should be able to use your watch in AutoVoice/Tasker on your phone as a microphone

Were all waiting for this, SDK hasn't been released yet from my knowledge.
Going to have to be patient like everyone else.

Way ahead of you, except tasker won't install. Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY]
I got Locale installed but it seems to crash when I try to add conditions.
Llama seem to work, it seems I can at least change volumes based on times of days, its a start. Not sure what profiles I would need with a watch but Llama might be the best bet right now

Okay I am wondering how to connect other devices? I know wrong place to
ask but am asking anyway?
I have not had problems installing autoapps just can't get other devices to connect or see it on search of nearby devices?
Anyone tried this? My goal is basically to make the Gear compatible with iOS devices.
It works from a high level - it says they're connected (and doesn't disconnect), but I haven't deployed any apps yet that communicate properly with an iPhone.
The BLE APIs are 4.3 (API 18) and the Gear is 4.2 (API 17), so I don't think I can use the BLE apis directly.
Anyways, I'll poke at this slowly between other projects and share what I have. Hopefully I can inspire others to do likewise.
Cheers

Well, I think you can pair it during the initial reset phase (it will pair, but fail to connect), and then pair with your samsung s3.

You can reset the device, pair with iPhone, and then pair again with your Samsung.
You'll still be paired after the reset.

Yeah, it'd be nice to reset without going to the Samsung devices.
I've been playing around with the various services/and activities via the am start command:
Code:
am start com.android.bluetooth/.common.BluetoothPairingDialog
am start com.android.bluetooth/.common.BluetoothConnectActivity
am start com.android.bluetooth/.common.BluetoothSyncingActivity
am startservice com.android.bluetooth/.common.BluetoothAutoConnectService
Bit of a chore, but I got these using smali / dex2jar / JD Gui
Code:
adb pull /system/app/Bluetooth.odex
adb pull /system/framework/ framework (grab all the frameworks for baksmali)
./baksmali -a 15 -x Bluetooth.odex -d framework -o Bluetoot
./smali Bluetoot
d2j-dex2jar.sh out.dex
And then run JD Gui on them to figure out what's going on. I'm not sure, but there is a VendorSpecificCommand in the odex which might be what's causing the reset. If there was a way to avoid that, it might help. Hard to say.
Another idea might be to use bluez or something and do a command line pairing.
Hi friends,i want buy samsung gear, but i dont know if Tasker (app) work with gear.

Paid apps do not work (because of licencing issues - no play store/internet connection). We need a plugin to interact with phone side of things or dedicated gear app to apply to the watch itself

Couldn't one just backup the paid app with something like jrummy app manager, then side load the paid apk with wonders have??

I've tried, but sideloading doesn't get around license checks
And the beta failed to install: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/beta.html

First we need to figure out how to write apps that can talk between phone and watch. Then it wouldn't be hard to make a simple menu/button based app to trigger events
I've tried to port out "paid app", but no show after. :crying:

Yep, just updating you with status. We'll see what next null rom brings featurewise as it should have native Bluetooth internet
All we need is an app that will send an intent to Tasker over Bluetooth like pebble tasker or pebble glance. It's the Bluetooth communication holding us up. (plus I for one have no idea how to code for android let alone use intents)
What I have found is that some paid apps will work. As an example Busybox Pro, works without a hitch. Same pull/install process as any other apk, until you run across an app that phones home for activation or validation. In the case of Flit keyboard as an example when I contacted them directly about the inability to activate they sent me a pre-activated apk. So it might be worth a shot to email the dev and explain what you are trying to do and they may be cool with figuring out a work around if it means selling more of their apps to the people in the community.

Google Now can send and receive audio through our Gear. AutoVoice for Tasker can receive voice commands from our Gear as well! This opens up many possibilities! Both programs can be activated with the standard bluetooth button on your everyday headset.. is it possible to simulate this button on our gear? I am thinking our media control program works by simulating hard headset button presses. A program would be fine, but a widget would be ideal! TIA!
Another question. Is a bluetooth headset limited to these 6 button functions? Play/pause, skip, back, volume +/-, and the standard button mentioned above? If not, we can take Tasker automation from gear even further!
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
i hope for this
..
I've looked into some apps on play store, but nothing seems to work. Can't find any other examples where a headset is actually running android in order to utilise button in this way
brendo now rooted gear and install all, try if Utter or Klets work
This is all I need for a perfect gear !
I have searched ALL day to figure this out, although no luck sadly.
Best way of doing this would have to be using a plugin for tasker, just like atooma uses.
EDIT: We need to figure out how exactly the gear communicates with the phone, if we can manually send a request from the gear to the phone. We could setup a intent listener on tasker and it could execute tasks.
Maybe someone should speak with the dev's of gear getter ? Or ATN ? Figure out how they communicate with the gear ?
Got Google Voice to work from Gear
With Google search 3.1 all you have to do is say "Okay Google". This works for me.
To Launch Google Search from Gear
1) Set Up to recieve Google Notification
2) Open a Google Notification
3) Press Show On Device. This will launch Google Voice Search
4) Say "Okay Google".
Make sure you have "Record Audio through Bluetooth headset if available" checked in Google Voice. Only issue is that if Phone locks. Maybe someone can find a way to get a shortcut for "Show On Device".

I too find it difficult to swallow that a solution has not been found. I am a little late to the "gear party" (only having mine for a few weeks now) and have been searching for a solution to this.
I believe Vingar's solutions is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47519892#post47519892
I have found a few apps that may help with this but none that directly address what I am looking for....namely a widget on the home screen of my gear that simply sends the correct keycode to my phone via BT.

That's it exactly. I have no programming talents, but this seems like such a simple - and powerful - solution, not least because it would allow Google Now voice inputs. And the watch is already a BT device, an also an android device. Frankly it's absurd that this wasn't included stock.
Hi,
i d like to create a task so it autoenables smartview and connects to a given device.

Hi, thanks, but thats exactly what im doing in profile, using the bluetooth connect to car to open the app, but the app doesnt auto connect to the cast device (and there is no option as far as i see in the app todo so), so the point in auto connect to the device cannot be provided like this in my usecase.
thanks for the tip with BT, that is my trigger already to start the action, but the action "auto connect to a cast device" ... is not given to me.

There is a tasker plugin by the same developer called AutoCast. Maybe it will help you.
I don't do any of this, so obviously I don't have any personal experience to offer. You might try on the tasker Google groups forum.

was a great idea, sadly this app (beta state) only supports google devices, no miracast device, but that function would have been the winner, thanks again
Probably a part of the problem is that Google removed miracast support from "stock" android awhile ago. That dates back to the nexus 6 days.

contacted the developer of the autocast plugin and he confirmed, only works with google cast devices like i (sadly) expected.
thanks anyway for the hint.
That's always working to automate the tap(s) required. You could use Tasker to open the app, AutoInput UI query to determine when it's open, then an AutoInput action to enable the device connection.
probably yes, but thats now too much read and trial and error for now, thanks.
