Hello,
I cannot find the download link for HTC One India RUU.
CID: cid_38
I downloaded RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.3_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed.exe from somewhere but it throws 130 - Model ID Error.
Can anyone give me the download link of HTC One Asia India RUU?

Appreciate the quick response
Don't I need to match my CID and MID with the RUU file? Is there an easy way to turn S-OFF?

1. CID_38 isn't a valid CID, it'll start with HTC or with the initials of your carrier so please post your proper, FULL CID, e.g HTC__001
2. There isn't an 'India' RUU - it'll be the Asian model or the EU one
3. Run the command 'fastboot getvar all' and post the results (but remove your IMEI and serial number). We can then see what you actually need

It's actually HTC__038
Yeah, it's actually got to be the Asian WWE, and I think it's also the same for the Singapore variant (India is supposed to be x.xx.720.x, but we have x.xx.707.x, the dual-sim variant has a x.xx.720.x)

You need
RUU Zip M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.3_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed.zip
Google it. Now that you're s-off, you can restore an older RUU, and then you can take all the OTA's you get, all the way till 4.2.2, and 4.3 when it is released in India.

Crap, you're yet s-on. Ok, sure, now that RUU won't work.
Go to fastboot mode and flash twrp recovery from your pc
Use an otg USB cable and flash a rom from your USB drive or side load a rom with twrp.
Post back once you're done.

Ooh, my bad. I didn't look at your info correctly.. Here is the RUU you need http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...0-01_release_312087_signed_2_4_decrypted-zip/
What you need to do is flash this like a normal RUU after relocking your bootloader, if not locked already.
Sorry for complicating it so much in the previous posts

Haha!! I unlocked my phone again and it got back to the 4.2.2 version that I had on previously. I guess I had not cleared the cache and data on the phone
Next step will be to lock it and then install the RUU that you are referring to
This whole thing is new to me so I guess it is going to take a while and a few more experiments to get it right.
Thanks gain. This really helps

Thanks for your prompt reply. I forgot to mention that I have TWRP backup and aslo I have used the rooting method given on HTCONEROOT.COM.
That doesn't matter, it will get rid of all of that itself and return your phone to full stock.

stock recovery (and everything else) is included in the RUU. it "should" run successfully and put you back to 100% (-10% because of SuperCID) stock ROM, firmware, etc
then hopefully you can downgrade, and get S-Off and unlock using revone

I hate asking for help as I can almost always find the answer through searching but I ihink I killed my One -_-
I moved from Sprint to Tmobile. I got a new HTC One from Tmobile (silver). I wanted to keep my old HTC One (black.) The plan was to unlock both SIM card slots and send my sister the new one (Tmobile didnt have any black and I prefer the black over silver.) Got an unlock code off ebay for the Tmobile silver, Sprint would not give me an unlock code for the black.
Looked at a bunch of different forum posts and followed the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586704
Since I have 1.29.651.7 with S-ON, I did more searching to make sure the methods would work and saw posts from others with similar situations refered back to this post. So I started with Solution 3a, got all the files, made sure phone was fully charged, etc.
Tried rumrunner and it went through the motions but did not work, got error
"ERROR: looks like device is not rooted AND lacks an unsecure kernel. SU or FU!!"
My HTC One black is rooted. Tried again, same thing.
Scrounged I dont know how many posts, somewhere along the lines I read to use a version of RUU that works with S-ON. Ran it, all was going well, progress bar was almost at the end and it stopped and it showed an ERROR RECOVERY [0].
Followed the onscreen instructions, When I unplug it from my computer as instructed, I get a "bootloader" screen that just has "RUU" in orange. Continued and it fails again, this time when I unplug it I get RUU "hboot Version is older!" Stuck at the black HTC screen with 4 triangles in each corner. Can not get to recovery, bootloader, anything.

People like you really get on my nerves. How do you start with solution 3a? Did you even read what is it for? If you are on 1.29 you just need root and than run the SIMUnlocker app. You DIDN'T need the ruu. You really seem to want to kull your phone.
Anyway you have hboot 1.55 that's why the 1.29 ruu doesn't work. Lock your bootloader. You need this ruu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576995

Try adb reboot-bootloader it should take you to bootloader. Maybe you don't even need to run the ruu to get it working

Actually that was a mistype, I used 3b not a, because as mentioned I do not have s-off and I started with hboot 1.44. I did try SIMUnlocker first, but as the description said it does not work with every Rom and it did not work on mine.
Appreciate the help and will try what you've mentioned.

To make some things clear you have hboot 1.44 or 1.55? The simunlockhelper works with every rom, you didn't have root access or weren't on a sense rom. First try if you can boot on the os, let's start from there

I did already relock the bootloader, as that was part of the initial instructions. I started with 1.44, now it has 1.55. Correct, I was not on a sense rom. I tried flash InsertCoin back on since I came to that from Beanstalk. I cannot boot into the OS, no. I can use fastboot commands but I do not get the bootloader options, only RUU.

You did pretty much everything wrong. Do what I said in the previous post: lock bootloade, than the ruu in that link. After that unlock bootloader, flash the 4.3 BadBoyz ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=2301&task=get
Now you can finally unlock with the SIMUnlock helper

I'm a complete newbie to this XDA so would appreciate any help possible.
My HTC One is Bricked and wont go beyond the HTC logo screen.
I've look at all the different forums and threads and I cant find one particular thread to guide me through the process.
The simplest way I can tell to get my phone back to stock without rooting and doing s-off is to use a ruu file, but I cant find one any where for my phone.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction:

I'm a complete newbie to this XDA so would appreciate any help possible.
My HTC One is Bricked and wont go beyond the HTC logo screen.
I've look at all the different forums and threads and I cant find one particular thread to guide me through the process.
The simplest way I can tell to get my phone back to stock without rooting and doing s-off is to use a ruu file, but I cant find one any where for my phone.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction:

There is an RUU for your One. The only issue is that ur S-ON and the RUU is for a lower firmware version than the one you have. To flash the RUU, you will have to downgrade your firmware, which needs S-OFF
Post the output of your getvar all. It'll help a lot
And do u have custom recovery?? What exactly did you do which bricked the phone ??

Hello, Thanks for helping out. I have a taiwan build of the phone, for some reason I got the message prompt to upgrade to kitkat and sense 5.5 ( the release isnt officially out in my region) I'm thinking I got it because of the firmware build of my phone, once i tried to upgrade thats where the stall happened.
To get S-Off i need to root my phone from my understanding is this correct ? I dont have a custom recovery will post the get var here.
Thanks again.
Since you bricked your phone, I'm going to safely assume you were at least on an unlocked bootloader. If that's the case, you can download the TWRP recovery image onto your PC and boot into it off your phone with the fastboot command "fastboot boot (recovery name).img". Once there, you can go to TWRP's advanced settings and turn on ADB sideload to install a ROM. After that's done, go back into fastboot and flash the boot.img from the ROM separately before booting the ROM for the first time (since you're S-ON). That should get your phone back on.
My friend did the same thing the other day and that was how I got theirs working again.

That only works on hboot 1.44, "fastboot boot ...." was patched/broken after 1.44.

That's not needed on the M7, it'll get flashed automatically during the install even with S-On.

Which RUU file do you recommend I can downgrade to. The version I have is 3.63.709.3 is there a site with ruu files. I have the latest ota file from the htc website, is the ruu file in there ?
Will try the procedure today and re post here.

Yup the fastboot thingy doesnt work, anyother way i can use twrp if this is required. Unlocked my boot loader, are there any short cuts in this. Cant I just unlock, s-off and download any of the latest ruu files to bring my phone back to life ?

please help me out. I am using custom rom now .... no network .... no baseband. i am also confused that ruu is for me... i tried one but failed
So I have the pink camera issue. I noticed it today when trying to take a video of the meteor shower happening. I am currently on viper ROM and my phone is unlocked, tampered and s-on. My problem is I am with Virgin Mobile(Canada) and I cannot seem to find a stock ROM so I can send this phone in for warranty.
Once I get back to the stock ROM how can I remove the Tampered and Unlocked messages?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Are you sure you need to restore the phone to stock? Since they sold you a phone with a hardware defect, they may have a legal responsibility they can't ignore. In most civilized countries, a seller has to repair or replace a defective product.

I'm not sure, I kind of assumed that once you rooted, your warranty was in jeopardy.

Surely it is "in jeopardy". But my rooted and S-Off phone was repaired under warranty due to the same camera issue. I'm not in your country, but it's probably worth a little googling to find out. Maybe even call them to ask, but don't give them your name/IMEI/serial (tell them your friend is borrowing the phone, but before you get it back, you need to know whether the rooted unit's defective camera component it can be fixed under warranty).

Let me clarify. Based on my personal experience (not internet hearsay), some warranty repair centers do not care about a phone being tampered/s-off/unlocked. They noticed (and mentioned it to me over the phone), but repaired it anyway, free of charge. Now, can you clarify why you think that's not true?

Well, they rejected my phone. The first thing they did was check the bootloader. They said that i would have to pay for the repair because the bootloader was unlocked. I think HTC's policies differ in different countries.

If this is the case, based on the info I gave you, what do I need to do to reset the tampered flag and return to stock without a recovery from my stock rom

There is an RUU available for your device. But you will need S-OFF because you have installed the 4.3 OTA. So, use Rumrunner to S-OFF. Then, ill guide you through the rest

Ok, firewater worked, phone is now S-OFF.
The phone is with Virgin Mobile, which I believe is the same company as Bell, I had bell's self serve app on my phone when I first got it. I also bout an old iPhone on a Bell network and it worked fine with a Virgin Sim card.

Ok, cool. Now here's the guide to going to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
The 1st post is important, it gives you the list of downloads and prerequisites. READ IT A FEW TIMES VERY CAREFULLY
Then, move to post 5. The method you will be using to return to stock is the CWM NANDROID method.
Now, the RUU you will be using is this:

That's very interesting. I (strongly) thought that was illegal in the US, where have the right to return a product that was defective when we bought it. In the future, I'll keep my mouth shut about warranty issues.

when you flash the ruu.zip you will actually downgrade to hboot 1.44, which is no problem unless if you are on Win 8.1
please check post #2 (FAQs) about Operating System issues.
