Well i have turned Google Now off, so the only thing that comes up is the search box that would have been google now window. I am asking where i would go to do that, i have searched all over the place in the menus and settings and can't seem to see where to turn it off at.
Go to Settings, search for apps icon , then select all apps. Find google search from that list and stop service and delete it.

You can force OK Google everywhere to be enabled thanks to zhuowei's UnleashTheGoogle.
EDIT: DO NOT USE ON L. Just wait.
If you have not updated Google Search and Play Services, here are the updated APKs.
Google Play Services 5.0:
https://mega.co.nz/#!gxEwlIZB!9nEGTTgnv6rJUF5U-jlOKjwbnfhWDcT3nJIxcr8L1os
Google Search 3.5 (for ARM):
https://mega.co.nz/#!V1MwyZYR!KSA4nK91jxOyDYBoomNeCd6ivM6RxN-B5D30X5UTApQ
You must have your Google Search language set to US English and be rooted.
Enable debug/dogfood settings using UnleashtheGoogle, found here. http://coggy.euroskank.com/APKs/UnleashTheGoogle.apk
Force stop Google Search once UTG has ran, then go into search settings, then config flags. Enable both e300 toggles, add the country code(en-US) in "speaker_id_supported_locales".
Save the config by tapping save config settings at the bottom.

Awesome great find man!
Have one vug Bug!
UnleashTheGoogle doesnt work on L Preview ROM (Nexus 5)
When open > it put phone to soft reboot > booting > Android is updating... > booted > no changes
Or just install normally from Play Store and turn the option on. No BS
I used unleashthegoogle, and debugging options are available.
But it seems that google removed the flag descriptions, I got only id 1 up to id 303, but no description of the flags.
Any suggestions?

Enable id:199, scroll down, hit save config settings.
Go to home screen and hit the search bar once.
Now you will get the option for ok Google everywhere.

Hello s0ullight,
thank you for your answer. But the problem is that I am in Germany and I use german as language.
Id 199 is already enabled, but I'm searching for the flag named
speaker_id_supported_locales to insert "de-DE".
As I wrote, I miss the captions from flags.

" Do not use on L" lol I'm still using this on the lollipop preview images and it still works a treat (only downside is that google hid the id names)
Ok,
I found a solution for my problem without unleash the google.
I just put english as standard in google search and german as second language.

Does any flag by any chance disable the permanent search bar on the homescreens?

Hello,
English has to be the principal language to have this work?
It works natively in my Nexus 5 but doesn't work with My S5 901F so I'm searching for a tips.
Thanks.

On My Samsung Galaxy S5 901F with Android 4.4.4, I've already id 199, 201, 202, 204.
194 is off.
But it doesn't work...
How do you restore these settings in case of bad modification?
Thanks

I try also in id 191 to replace "en-US" with "fr-FR"
I could after enabled options, but in learning recognition, it hangs after the third "Ok, Google".
So the best solution for me is to activate english UK in principal language but it forces me so say "ok, google " with an english accent .
If you're on KitKat 4.4 and go to your Google search app and type in "OK GOOGLE EVERYWHERE" without quotations then click search. Then back up one page. Go to search settings then voice you will now see the option to "manage voice" turn it on the click "agree". Then back in settings/voice click " hot word detection" and then keep checking every option and you will have to teach your voice by saying "OK GOOGLE" 3 times. Once completed you can say "OK GOOGLE" any where and search pops up. In any app it doesn't matter where. And you don't have to be on the Google Now Launcher. Check it out. Its pretty cool.
I noticed after enabling that I cannot use the camera to record. It says "cannot start recording while other application is using audio".
Fresh 4.4.2 from the back to stock guide no root just a fresh phone.

Oh wow. So that's why I'm getting that error too. It never dawned on me that's what it was. Cool. Well not really that sucks. I've got the google now launcher on there too. I'm gonna try it. See if same results
The video recorder still doesn't work with the Google Now Launcher. I downloaded from Google market the "Google Camera" and it works. Video, still pick , and sound during playback. With the Google Now launcher. I haven't tried it on stock launcher.
Sweet I'm going to check that out.

Got a strange issue on my Opti 4X
When i go into Play Store and try and access the 'my apps' section I get a
'Unfortunatley Google Play Store has stopped' message
I have reset my phone, uninstalled play store back to default so it could update itself, cleared the cache.
LG have advised me to speak to Google but if I can avoid that I will
Im running the stock rom.

Factory reset is my advice before that BACKUP all your data (contacts, pictures, sms etc..)
But I have done a factory reset and that google play store my apps issie still happens.
Its only on my Opti 4x
When I try on my Galaxy S running CM11 theres no problem?
Is it time to ditch stock?

I have the same problem and have read online that others have it too.
One work-around is instead of clicking on the button, swipe left to right, that will show the same menu as the button without crashing the app.
Yes, i have the same issue Google Play; regardless of what function it is presenting at the time (back, menu etc) the softkey in the top left corner of the Play screen causes the app to crash. It is very frustrating to say the least but as I see it the only viable solution seems to be to swipe left and right as mentioned above and wait for the next update from Google as it appears to be very much a bug in the app rather than any problem with the phone itself. I have a Nexus 7 also so I will check sometime and see if there are any issues with that (I use the Nexus mostly as an alarm clock and e-reader so it does not go online much therefore there will be just about every app to update including Google Play before I can report back).
I know my reply does not offer anything new or provide much help but at least you know that it is not caused by the phone and you can avoid wasting more time with backups, restores and factory resets etc.
Ok peoples, I have found this elsewhere in the XDA forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/lg-optimus-jelly-bean-play-store-fix-t2852146
I will give it a go at some point over the weekend and let you know if it makes any difference
I installed the Xposed module in the above post and hey presto, Google Play doesn't crash out when you press the top left soft key

Anybody else see that? Seems odd that there's a widget in the app switcher.
same here
I don't have a solution, I just wanted you to know that you're not the only one seeing that.
That's the Google search widget. Haven't had that problem though.

can confirm that it is the Google search, if you have frozen it or uninstalled it you will get this error, once I installed google search again the error was gone.
That's actually a pretty convenient feature. Better than the swipe up thing IMO.

Same problem but I dont have it disabled or anything. I use it all the time but it's just missing from there
I had this too (and have never disabled Google Search)
A simple reboot into safe mode the then boot back to normal fixed it.
Press power button then long press on "Power Off" to access safe mode.

That worked
Just tried on my nexus 5 which had the same issue and it only seems to work if you actually open "Recent Apps" once you are in Safe Mode.
I think it is a profile error as the problem appeared on a brand new Nexus 6 after "restoring" from my Nexus 5 config.
Great!
Starting in Safe mode, opening the recent apps and rebooting fixed it for me as well - many thanks! :good::good:
Try using Gravitybox.
Gravitybox > Miscellaneous Tweaks > Search bar visibility
Set to Hide and remove space.
That will get rid of that annoyance.
Reinstall clean master
Uninstall clean master from settings > apps, then install it from play store. Worked for me.
