Missing icons - Nexus 4 General

Hi, we have all been there. Got a set of icons only to find ONE is missing, that throws the whole look of our carefully crafted main page.
I've spent a fortune in time and £ looking for the perfect set for me. I've pleaded with the devs for the one I need.
I found an answer that works for me. Make it using two apps, Simple text, and Icon Changer. Start with simple text then use icon Changer. I won't go into a long ramble on how to. I picked it up pretty quickly.
I can honestly say that my gf could not pick out the one I'd made. Those apps are a god send. If you are into coding great, I'm not but I got a really professional look.
I was after the INex look and got the 3d shading to a tee. Took a bit of trial and error but I wish I'd found these a long, long time ago
Hope it helps someone

For some reason a tsk file can not change the BaseHue to 160 it always defaults back to 120, but only when you try 160. I made a cab for a workaround..

Hey I really like the way these are coming out. Can you make some with some really hot women. Maybe that new girl from bionic woman, or lindsey lohan, or the girl from ghost whisperer.
thanks,
Just the thread I was looking for...
Hi Greyzter...
Just wondering if you do Auto themes. If so, I'll be particularly interested in a Nissan GTR or Koenigsegg CCX theme.
Don't need a separate pic for the start menu; compatibility in standard and landscape modes is all I need. Something black would be ideal with any lettering/words to be on the top instead of the bottom since I have a plug-in at the bottom of the today screen which often gets obscured. A good reference would be Badbert's Ford GT theme (Here) but with the word "GT" on the top instead of the bottom.
Topspeed has some nice pix and renders of the two cars.

Koenigsegg CCX Gallery:

getting on that ..... got a few other things im working on. as im learning ill share with the forums..... thanks for the idea.... found a couple shots i like.
Nissan GTR Theme
Got a little impatient and slapped together a theme with a little cutting and pasting. There were several pix that I liked but couldn't use cuz I don't know how to do gradients and other lighting affects. After a few hours, finally got something I was happy with so I thought I'd share.
See attached to see my cluttered Today screen and some cleaner screen caps.
EDIT: Oops... forgot the most important part... the tsk... Also threw in a 320x320 that just missed the cut.
well thats one off my list...lol....... thanks for the great theme file.

Tipulator on the Iphone advert - poss on diamond ?

hi all i kinda like the tipulator idea is it available on the diamond by any chance ??
did a search came back blanko
a little more info would've been nice
http://www.148apps.com/reviews/tipulator/
Tipulator is a absolutely beautiful bill tip and splitting calculator. You enter the bill total, tip percentage, and the number of people and are shown the amount to be paid per person.
If you know the formula, maybe I can try to develop it. Seems like a good thing to start making apps.
edit: ow, realized it is just simple percents and "people" button (?) just splits the bill.
so, starting up eVC.
Update.
You can try my app.

Need feedback about my first theme

Hi Guys,
I've made my first theme and popped it on the android market, I made the decision to charge £0.99 for it as I believe it to be worth that and I know if I saw it then I would have no qualms with paying this at all, however since releasing it around 10 hours ago, ive only had 3 downloads all of which were cancelled so im trying to work out reasons why. One possible reason I can think is that they are using the Motorola Droid, where most these don't look particularly good because of the resolution, the second is that they just plain didn't like it! I do find this rather odd though as I have included 2 screenshots.
So if here's the androlib link (http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-nd-android-pandatheme-psimpleblack_5896-pExj.aspx) (screens dont do it much justice), I would appreciate any feedback. If anyone wants to download it for real then for today I will refund anyone from XDA developers who purchases it, just PM me your name after you have done so.
Thanks a lot for any help .
Looks pretty good to me, i take it the fuzziness is just in the screenshots? There's certainly A LOT worse on the market that have quite a few downloads, so I think you just have to give it time.
Yeah the fuzzyness is just the screens, thanks for the comment . Feel free to download if you want to take it for a spin and I'll refund your money making it free.
Anyone else got anything to add? getting a lot of views but little in the way of comments .

I would suggest making the notification bar black. The white bar does not look quite right. On the other hand, I only theme AOSP ROMS, so this may not be an option for you.
I want you to know that what follows is constructive criticism in the hopes that it will help you. If I offend I apologize, and give you full permission to tell me to piss off.
When I look at the theme, it looks nice, very clean, all the graphics work, but there is nothing that grabs my attention. It seems very "flat" and I personally would refund and get a theme that would draw me in to the screen. Having said that, I think it is really great work, that with a little bit of effort could really sell. I am sorry to say that I can not tell you what it needs, but I suggest making a few mock ups in gimp (or photoshop) and asking people what they think.
Additionally, the theme looks a lot like an iphone, which may be why I do not care for the look as much another may. The idiots on the market are always looking for iphone this and that, and thus I think it could really sell given time.
Thanks, comments noted, very helpful. The black notification bar isn't an option in this sort of theme but I'll definately be looking into ways of jazzing it up for a version 2.0 .
While I love themes like this, the only issue is that every other app installed will have a regular icon. Which unfortunatly takes away from your great work..
Yeah I recognise this, i was thinking of adding extra ones for the most popular apps (facebook, twidroid etc). Maybe this is something I'll look further in to.

That is exactly what I did. There is no way to legally theme and distribute most market apps, so just make an addition icon pack and let people apply via bettercut.
By the way, I showed this to my wife, whom is a professional graphic designer, and asked her opinion. She suggested it is way too flat, and needs more contrast. I realize that you do not want to add color to accomplish this, as it defies the point of your theme, so she suggested to do away with the symmetry. Stagger some icons, give the homescreen a look that carries the eye of the viewer around it.
Thanks cloverdale, will definately take this into account in my future themes. Currently selling ok on the market place after making a few colour variations .

Need artist to form my ideas of an icon set!

Hello
I've been searching for a specific sort of icon set for android apps, but haven't been able to find it. My idea is to have an icon set of stickies / post it´s in different colors, angles, sizes, roation and with either text, drawings or text and drawings for the icon itself.
To give you a better picture of what I'm imagining I've found some pictures to illustrate fractions of the idea - "combined" they kinda look like what I imagine
Hope you can help me or guide me in the direction of something alike !
there is nothing like that...Have to make them...
Seems simple enough to make, I've actually worked on something like this before but never finished it because I didn't really imagine myself using it. I probably still have my resources gathered, and could materialize it for you - but be warned that I'm not a professional and the amount of time I have to work on it is limited. If you want to work something out, send me a pm. There are better designers out there, so if you find someone else to do it I won't be offended.
I'm not saying I suck, I'm just letting you know I'm not the best. Your idea is fairly easy to implement, so it shouldn't take a professional. Anywho, just let me know.

Be my guest ! I have an idea of them in a homescreen setup, where the wallpaper is a vintage white polished fridge (like 50's kind of style) up close and then with all the post its apps *Haven't been able to find such wallpaper either tho :-(
well
I like the idea and could probably pull it off... the only thing bugging me is the random post-it rotation... if they could all face the same direction i'd do it...
but otherwise...
ok
So after much thought i decided to do this set... without compromise, different colors and positions... this is the most logistically challenging set so far...
I hope there's a demand for this because its gigantic work

and its coming, with the ability to choose the color and position of every icon. For example, lets say you want the facebook icon, you'll be able to have five choice for it... This is going to be a lot of icons... trust me.

get ready...
This will be released today... stay tuned!
Glad you got Phlash on this! For one, I'm super busy right now and don't have the time.
And Phlash is an amazing artist! I remember when I first came across Tha Icon months ago, I used those icons for at least two months straight!
He'll do a great job, you won't be disappointed

I've actually been thinking about buying a couple of your newer sets. They look really nice. I set a monthly limit on how much I can spend on my phone - apps, dev donations, etc. If I don't, I'd be broke, lol. It resets on the 20th, so I'll probably buy a couple next week

[Req] Small keyboard "hack" suggestion

Hey all you jive Android turkeys!
I submit that I've not really searched hard and deep into this yet...other than just basics of the different Android soft-keyboards, AOSP included. I haven't flexed my FreeBSD/Unix finger muscles for a while now, which also my piss-poor excuse why I haven't taken a better crack at it.
This is probably a suggestion suitable for pretty much all Android devices with soft-keyboards. (Is there even a phone left on the market with a hard keyboard?!)
Anyways,
How awesome / efficient / useful would it be to have a button on the soft-keyboard with the sole purpose of pasting something one has just copied?
Better yet,
How awesome / efficient / useful would it be to have a button on the soft-keyboard with the sole purpose of both copy AND paste?
So say you highlight some text, selected area of a picture etc, which will invoke this suggested new button to "come alive" if you will, and ready to tapped for copying. (So the initial state is a greyed out 'Copy' label until something is highlighted & activates the potential to copy said highlighted whatever-it-is)
Once the selected stuff is tapped to copy, the button would subsequently switch it's label from 'Copy' to the updated 'Paste' label.
This query stems from the particular frustration I have with my giant fingertips, which are more suitable for doing highly inaccurate maneuvers with large & imprecise dumb things rather than sophisticated high-tech micro-electronics designed for sentient beings with toothpicks for fingers.
I'm always having to screw around, re-highlithing & re-tapping stuff four or five times before I can claim success in both the copy AND pasta maneuver.
Having said that, allow me to suggest a comical name for the flash/hack/APK, call it: CopyPasta.apk. For sarcasm's sake, obviously.
Anyone wanna take a crack at it? If any of you genius jive-Turkeys can otherwise point me in the direction of "how to screw with, screw up, go screwy in frustration for lack of success, the Android keyboard", I would greatly appreciate that too...unless of course I'm reinventing a wheel, but Google hasn't offered me a suitable page describing any of this that I'm looking for.
Any bites?
(Listen you nosey ignorant little bastards, don't go all "you should try harder" or "you should practice more" or "you suck with your poor, inept lack of genetic evolution" or "Darwin FTW *****ez!!1!". I'm getting old, I realize that...my digits are getting more shaky and inaccurate as time goes by, so sue me, big whoop, wanna fight about it?! I'm confident that there is a large number of you folks out there that would also enjoy this copy-pasta thing for the sake of efficiency.)
Well.. If you want a copy paste option in the keyboard.. I suggest you to try Swype from the play store and see if it suits your needs.. It has some shortcuts to select the whole text, copy and paste it.. If that's what you are searching for.. Definitely worth a shot..

Lemme respond to that with "dumb old dog, can't learn new trick"
That Swype stuff has been an absolute disaster for me from Day 1
I suppose the biggest issue, besides my goofy paws, is the fact that I am required to type in 4 different languages on a daily basis... If it just so happens that I'm typing to a family member it may turn into a menagerie of 4 languages with an included jumbled bunch of slang words of mixed English/Spanish/Dutch origin......whilst attempting to speak proper Dutch.
Swype don't like any of that.
I like Swype even less for the fact that it looks/sounds a lot like that blasphemy that is Skype. Splitting hairs here.
I'd prefer a nice little elegant button that can do both. There seems to be enough space on the OEM keyboard & pretty much all AOSP keyboards for one more button. Should be easily portable to other devices too, I presume. Maybe a photocopier icon on the button for Copy & a tub with a brush in it for Paste....you know, paste, from back in the 1930's when wallpaper & posters were pasted everywhere.
I suppose it is time I flexed some Unix muscles, of what is left of them.
