[Q] Overclocking on CM9?

Hello!
I'm looking to overclock my Galaxy Note which is currently running the latest CM9 nightly. I tried Tegrak Overclock but I got an error when trying to run load the module. Would I be right in assuming that it requires a custom kernel, rather than the provided CM9 kernel? If so, do any custom CM9 kernels exist yet? (from what I can tell from looking through the Development forum, there doesn't seem to be)
Thanks in advance!~

Yes, your assumption would be right, stock CM9 kernel cannot be o'clocked.

[Q] alternative kernels for cm9?

is there any alternative kernels for cm9... I can't find any in the development section.... I am on PA 0.4a and cant get cifs to work I tried everything... (it must be the kernel because it works perfectly with speedmod kernel on touchwiz roms but it cant be used for cm9 based roms)

Cm9 itself is a custom kernel, you can't put any other kernel on top of it.
I don't know about that .... but i found many alternative cm9 kernels for other devices like SGSII
Afaik you can use the kernel who's name we shall not speak... pm me if you need details.

look like you are right but i can't find any for our note.
On cm9 can i oc gpu? I play n.o.v.a 3 and use gpu at 400 mhz and this game run so fast and smooth, more bette when use 267 mhz, or can i change gpu on 2d from 160 to 267? Because note is smoother on samsung roms when use 267 on 2d. Or maybe cm9 dont need oc gpu on 2d because is still smooth?

To my knowledge there are no specific kernels for the same. But you can use Notecore (Over Clock Version) on ICS roms only(Not on cm10 or AOSP/AOKP) and BBRQ3 or Ani kernals on cm9/AOKP/AOSP that supports overclocking. (Warning :- Overclocking may harm your hardware. It is a dangerous operation. Use it At Your Own Risk.)
SINCE YOU ARE ON CM10 YOU CAN'T USE THESE KERNELS I SUPPOSE.
Any kernel that can be overclocked for performance with suitable voltage settings that can support the cpu and gpu can give you a great gaming experience. Notecore kernel is an excellent kernel for stock ics. But jellybean cm 10 is just under development so you will have to wait for a performance kernel.

[Q] CM9 on stock kernel?

Realy sorry for my noob question, I have a locked bootloader
I was researching a bit about the ICS for xperia x8, seeing that only custom roms based on AVD run on stock kernel, because the AVD is based on the same kernel version.
But, isn't possible to adapt the CM9 to run on stock kernel?
Why the CM9 don't have support for X8 on Cyanogenmod website? How developers made Roms based on it?
Moreover, why all the custom kernels are based on version 2.6.29.6? It is impossible or unnecessary to create a custom kernel based on 2.6.32 or up?
Sorry for my bad English.
So ics can't run on stock kernel.Stock kernel miss a lot of components from 3.0 kernel. The kernel is 2.6.29.6 but to have 2.6.32 need to port a lot of stuff so this mean need a lot of time. The nAa kernel's and alfs' kernel is pathed to 2.6.29.6 For now we have ported some components from 32,35,38 and 3.0 kernels.
We do have ics for stock but it is not for daily use. And the development has stopped so don't expect updates/fixes.
As naa said, stock kernel really can't support ics.

yes ics or jb on stock kernel is impossible and trying to port it is pointless.
We have ics for stock kernel, but gods sake its laggy, buggy. Its not good for daily use. U can find roms like ics. X8 is now old. But u can unlock bootloader by paid method. Next time please search.
Really thanks for your answers.
Interesting, I did not know that the custom kernels had several other superior features.
Actually run on ICS stock kernel is impossible, but there is very buggy roms projects based on avd can i run. What I was wondering is whether it is possible to install the CM9 on stock kernel. I do not think it was just out of curiosity noob ...

Yeah. Its possible, check in development section.

I've tried the only two ics roms for the x8 stock kernel, and I know it's possible to INSTALL, but did not to use, because there are more bugs than fixes.
My doubt is if I can INSTALL CM9 in stock kernel, since I tested these roms are pure android, not CyanogenMod, they are based in AVD, android debug bridge. :fingers-crossed:

I can't find an overclockable kernel for cm 11 4.4.2 n7000

Hello guys, I have forgot my old username here, I don't even come on xda since a long time, I used to have the cyanogenmod 10.1.3 version of cyanogenmod since months (4.2.2)
because of it's highly customization

and easy to find an overclockable kernel (NX Kernel) a pure happyness.
But... I'm updating my stuff to a newer nightly because I want new stuff.
I also want to overclock it, but I can't find the right thread for a list of overclockable kernel for cyanogenmod 11 at 4.4.2
Could someone help me ? ( I know that I have to search, but I can't found it, that's unbelivable )
We haven't got any 4.4.2 compatible overclockable kernels. You might want to give tegrak overclock a try though, that might do it (on the stock kernel).
