Hello, I'm soffed and using the stock Rom by using the supercid ,but now I have the opportunity to update to 4.3 ,but I've got a customer recovery and can't install it .

to apply OTA, you need:
1- stock ROM
2- stock recovery
you will NOT loose S-Off with OTA

Thx!!!!

If you have currently have the stock GB ROM with the stock HTC recovery and stock HBOOT 2.01.0001, then you should be able to apply the OTA.

OTA updates for custom recovery

Hi,
Is it true, that phones with a custom recovery don't get OTA updates?

They don't get updares by the manufacturer but custom ROM get updated way faster. There are tools which can download these via OTA.

Well, I don't have a custom ROM, I just unlocked the bootloader of my HTC One and installed a custom recovery to get root.

You can re-install stock recovery, which i believe will allow OTA updates again.
OK, I see. I used the all-in-one kit to unlock my phone and install a custom recovery. So I thought I could just flash the stock recovery using the kit as well... But where would I get the stock recovery?

Actually the phones with custom recovery still get OTA updates as long as still using stock ROM.

Correct! But you still need stock recovery to install the update.
You are driving me crazy... So what good is it to receive the updates if I can't install them?
OK, so I still need stock recovery. So the question remains, how so I get the stock recovery?

How do I get updates from the oem instead of the carrier?

I'm getting bored waiting for O2 in the UK for the Android 4.2.2 update, I have rooted. I don't want to put a custom ROM on it though, I just want over the air updates straight from HTC and not my carrier.
Thanks!

So I have a custom ROM installed on my HTC one it is the 4.3 Google edition ROM. This morning I received a notification saying "system update downloaded. Touch to install" would it be safe to install it?

Perhaps. I heard another person's phone got unrooted or relocked bootloader? I doubt it because google developer edition is supposed to be unlocked and unrooted?

then your rom is not stock, well not 100% stock.
all /system and /data/preload files must be 100% stock to be patched by the ota. try to find the correct file (from a guru reset rom for example) abd push it to your phone + set permission correctly or reset your phone with a ruu.
Downloading from guru reset...lets see what happens next
