So this update came out a little bit ago. I have done the "allow unknown sources" mod. Should I be able to install the update or does the mod prevent it from installing?
I've tried to install several time and it keeps failing.
How can I do the update at this point?
Enable Unknown Sources zip does nothing to prevent an update.
I'm not sure what you mean by update came up. What were you running before. Is this an update over the air from B&N or what?

I am running 2.1.0. It's an over the air update from B&N for 2.1.1. I even tried the method to download the update file and save it to the device's main directory but that didn't even try to update that way, but the file disappeared.
I installed the NookHD-HDplus-stock-enable-Unknown-Sources-rev0-(09.08.13) and NookHD-HDplus-Universal-Root-rev3-(09.10.13)
Oh, the universal root rev3 does block it.
If you want to upgrade, go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread and flash the rooted 2.1.1 from item 6.

so basically just reflash with the NookHDplus-stock-2.1.1-rooted.zip file using that same set of directions that I used to do the original allow unknown sources mod?
ANother question, I originally used an 8 GB SD card and it only created a 4 GB partition. I backed up the stock image. I was going to back up the current image to the same card but it ran out of space. How can I make full use of the 8 GB card?
Yes, install the rooted zip just like you do any other zip from my thread, using CWM.
You can try using partition software like Mini-Tool Partition Wizard to expand the 4GB to the full size of the SD. Make sure you copy the backup files to your PC before you start in case you screw it up.

I tried searching a little, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I used the files from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613
I used the program "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home" to make sure that the sdcard is set to as "primary" and "active". And basically I'm just trying to go from 'CyanogenMod 10.1.3-ovation' back to Stock Rom (back to how I first got it/how Barnes and Noble sold it to me).
I formatted the sdcard, unzipped and moved the files from "NookHDplus-bootable-CWM-6028-for-stock-BOOTFILES-r4-(05.15.13)" to the sdcard, moved and left zipped the "NookHDplus-factory-2.1.1-plain-stock" file (even tried the 2.2.0 file beforehand) to sdcard, and turned on my nook with the sdcard in. I go to "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard", and get the message "E: Can't mount /sdcard/".
Also (if this even matters), to install CM, I followed the instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9aTofeSPbg

You said you moved the zip to sdcard. Did you copy it to the SD by inserting the SD in the PC and copy it to the card?

Yes, I saved it to my desktop and then dragged it to the card. Attached is a screenshot of everything on the card.

No, you have the right files. CWM is just not reading the card. Try reformatting with SDFormatter to fat32 and set it up again.

If you want CM11, that is the one to use. If you want CM10.1/CM10.2, use the guide I referenced. They use different tools.

I'm confused on what files to actually download?!! any help please?
Advice please
kk so last night i had a go at the kit kat tutorial.
Think I got the right files in the end. (see attachment photo)
Managed to get CWM flashed on the 32gb micro SD and insert it into the Nook and reboot it into recovery.
Then i needed to back up stock OS to SD but it goes through the process but at the end it says no EXT SD found.
So it has the back-up on the internal memory which i cannot get off.
Why did it not back up to EXT SD?

That EXT SD it says it cannot find is not the external SD you are thinking of. It is looking for an old scheme not used anymore where apps sometimes were stored in an extra partition named that on the external SD. Your backup was probably stored on the external SD. It depends on which option you chose when you made it. If you chose the wrong option it might be stored on the internal memory. In any case it is easy to get it off.

It's ok mate I followed your tutorial and I'm all up an running on CM 10.2
I just copied the back up from the internal memory via USB to my PC so all good!
The nook hd was working fine it pulled up all the normal screens turned on and off normally... then did factory reset now its i think what you call boot looping. I bought this on CL never used it went to sell it and factory reset it now its flashing nook over and over when I try and plug it into my computer its pooping up as new device then it goes away then it comes back then it goes away over and over and it makes the windows makes the device connected beep noise over and over. What do I need to do to fix it?
Thanks for any help!
Go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a bootable CWM SD per item 1a and use that to flash a plain stock zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset with CWM and you should be back to plain stock, ready for registration.

The small image is too small to accommodate the size of the plain stock zip. It is over 400MB. Use the new procedure in section 1a and you can use the whole 2GB.

Hi guys,
I tried installing cyanogenmod on my new Nook HD+ but when trying to install CM11 it gave me a status 7 error!!
I did make a backup before installing and so I wanted to know how to recover back to factory setting or whether I can still install CM11? When turning the tablet on it just goes to CWM v6.0.4.6
What do I do???
To get to stock go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new bootable CWM SD per item 1a. Use that to flash a plain stock zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset by CWM. That takes you back like it came out of the box.
I don't know which guide you used to try to install CM11, but I suggest you use this one:

Thank you for your reply. I did use that guide but I think the CM11 file I downloaded must have been corrupt?
Is there anyway of trying to put another CM11 file on the device without installing stock rom?
I need to get another SD card to try to restore to factor setting.
You said you wanted together back to stock. That is what I told you how to do. You can't use that 6046 CWM to do it.
If you want to try again with CM11, just do it.

Yes I appreciate that, thank you.
I was just wondering whether I could somehow do something now to get CM11 on the device without having to get back to stock?

Just follow the guide. Can you get the SD to boot? What steps were successful? And there must be more to the error message other than status 7. Tell us more.

I don't think I have made myself very clear. Since following the guide I received an error, so I can;t follow the guide now. I just need to try to change the file that was corrupt or start again. I would prefer to change the file but I don't know whether that is possible. If it isn't I will have to buy another sd card to try to solve this problem.
At the moment I can't use the device but it does boot to CWM.
You are not making yourself clear. There had to be more to the error message than "status 7". Maybe you don't remember. Or maybe you lost the file and you cannot try again. And why can't you use the SD you used the first time?

this is what happens:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /data/media/sm-11.....zip
(Status 7)
I suppose I could use the same sd card but don't I have to put the files on the internal sd card for it to reboot to the factory setting?

Now that you have CWM v6046 already on internal memory, it is ok to have the files you want to flash on the external SD. It is only the version on SD that needs the files on internal SD. Get SDFormatter free on the web and use it to format the SD so it goes back to its normal size. Then you can put the CM and gapps zips on the SD. CWM v6046 has an option to flash a zip from external SD.
But that being said, that error message tells me that you have too old of a version of CWM on internal. Are you sure it is version 6046?

When CWM loads that's the version that comes up. I couldn;t see any option of loading from external sd card?
...Also if I take the sd card out then the bootloader doesnt load. the Nook logo just loops?
Thank you, I got it back to Stock and will try the install again!
I got there and installed CM11 now. Thanks for your advice.
I downloaded the wrong CM11 file, instead of downloading the emmc.zip I downloaded Sd-card zip!
hi, when i use win32diskimager it wastes most of my 8gb memory card. i then dont have enough room to put my gapps and rom on
after writing the cwn, it says 110mb available from 116mb. but the card was freshly reformatted to almost 8gb
anyone know whats going wrong?
That is the way it is supposed to be if you are using verygreen's original version of the install method. I assume you are trying to install CM to internal memory. If you are go to the Dummies guide linked in my signature it will let you install properly.
