Well, after reading dalingrin's declaration that he will quit NC, and that others like Bryan21, cicada and probably others have already left us, i would like to pay my tribute and respect to them:
Thank you all for the greatness of your work and time applied for our happiness.
I would like to urge you guys to finish the "masterpiece" that was started (kernel 2.6.32) but if its not possible, thank you for share you knowledge and experience with us!

i cant find anywhere that dal is leaving NC work. i did however find a post saying that he wasnt going to do anything for nookie froyo anymore though, same for bryan21

Ummmmm...... where does it say that Dalingrin is dropping development for the nook color?? In fact he is eagerly awaiting the B&N source code to see if they can use anything from their .32 kernel with CM7.

So, Dal is busy right now with school. Also with upgrading the kernel. See also real life.
Give the kid a break! Also, he said he will most likely stop NF (froyo) development, since there are so few downloads and the devs for those distros have said (correct me if I'm wrong) they will not support/upgrade their work, with CM7 being the badass distro it is.

Unfortunately I am leaving Nook development entirely. I'm looking for a new tablet and in the meantime I sold the Nook to a friend. It was fun while it lasted though.

I figure with stock 1.2 Froyo released there is no reason to continue CM7 so I want to go to another device.

I am 99% sure this is a joke, but just in case i am still freaking out about that 1% chance its not.......

Oh man, what a bummer if this is real! I just got my nook like 2 weeks ago and have already grown to love his work. With CM7 and Dals kernel the NC is awesome.
If this is true, I wish you the best man. And thanks for your work!

Can't believe yall thought dal would leave. First of all, a smart guy like dal would never sell his tablet and "go looking for another one." dal will know exactly what his next tablet is before he buys it, and hopefully let us all know beforehand too so we can get it ourselves! Secondly, dal would never consider the default Froyo good enough when CM7 has better video playback, working bluetooth, and is faster overall. It is a freaking masterpiece.
But I was thinking today: Aren't we running out of problems? I would love to see a classic dal rant of what possibilities lie past .32 when he can get back in the state of life he was in before Spring Break when his average post size was much larger (I completely understand, I am a student too)!

[Q] Need advice for a skydiving video competition

Hey there guys,
I need some advice in a personal issue! i did skydiving a few months ago and now i am participating in a video contest on youtube! the thing is, the guy who gets the most views wins a sponsorin for a full license!
I gained almost 2000 views yet, but that is not enough to win the competition!
so, the question is: do you guys know some methods, to increase the views in youtube in an efficient way?
the problem is that the video is not uploaded in my channel, so i cant do video-responses, modify tags or the title in "lady gaga naked" or something like that ! not that this would grab MY attention!
I´m not thinking about DDOS or somethin illegal!
Do you have some advice in this case?

TL;DR
1. Either have somebody crash to their death or crash on someone to their (possibly mutual) death.
2. COSPLAY!
3. NAKED! <- might chaff
4. Weird landing targets! Like a giant pair of bewbs.
5. Skydive into the snowy mountains, snowboard down and cause an avalanche!

Tape it on you iPhone 4S with a crash landing.... if you get what I mean

I have to admit, that some of those proposals might catch some interest! unfortunately the video already exists and none of your ideas are included!

Just wanted to say thank you all the hard working devs here. I recently got a Xoom tablet and looked all over the net for good support and info on this tablet. This was the only place I found that had solid info, well explained and easy to understand. I less then a half hour I had it rooted and icecream running like silk!

don't count on it... when there is drama between users and mods the ban hammers come out quick and fast. links get popped quick.
It is really too bad, but this seems to be entirely self-inflicted and we are left high and dry until another Dev steps up.

I'm running 5.5 and it is fine with 1 or 2 minor issues and 5.6 was a consideration... However, I'm not certain that the dev will be working on this soon, he seems to have been trying to play a donation game.
Likely it was a momentary lapse in judgment, but not something that would be tolerated on XDA and rightly so.
Hopefully another dev can step up and produce as good a product as this, but it seems that KnoxRaid is over. Oh well... I just got a Galaxy Gear and I can play with that for a while.

Yeah, its to bad. Well FireNote is top notch IMO, its been great so far. We will just have to wait to see what takes center stage I suppose.

It's unfortunate because he certainly seemed like a talented and dedicated dev. Brought a lot of goodness to our Note 3. I also started becoming skeptical of his requests for donations and think he just got caught up in how easy it was for him to raise spare cash, sell a phone and get another. Once he got the M8, I think his attentions turned to that phone and he figured he'd ride the Note 3 wave as long as he could. I don't doubt that he probably would have continued dev'ing for our phone had he been sent a free Note 3...but I'm sure in time "something" would have happened to that phone as well. As I said though, very unfortunate for all of us Note 3 owners as he truly did devote a lot of his time to our phones. He's young and has a lot to learn still...hopefully this is a lesson in honesty and humility that he takes to heart.

Well stated, my thoughts exactly... Just disappointed now...

I have some of his files saved but not sure if it can be shared anymore, will have to look into that. The rom is sweet, but the things that happened behind the scenes was sour to the core.

Wait... There actually is a 64-Bit version? Can someone post a link up please?

After a long time I found a worthy upgrade between all the crap OEMs were throwing at the consumers. Definitely getting this device for myself.
But have to wait till march Last year of my school and need to study hard, so not getting it so soon, but definitely getting one as soon as my exams finish.
Who knows I will by myself one while coming back from exam center after the last exam, lol

Don't know if it's going to be a 64
bit, but only time will tell. I did read that they're coming out with more phones leaning towards the alpha design...

Can agree on missing things, but then, which OEM even thinks of unique ideas with the stylus and big screens, except for stretching the UI.
At least it can be a worthy upgrade from our trusty note 2

I just want to say I've read through a lot of the post in this general section. And all I can say is wow at some of the comments in here...
It amazes me to how people think something should be, and why it isn't this way...
If you don't like something why are you here in the first place, just to complain. I see nothing but a bunch of complaining in this note 4 threads...
Why this, why that, how come thru didn't do it like this??...
To much speculating and assuming and complaining here imho!
Maybe wait until the device reach store shelves, then go use it, see if you like it, then purchase it if you do... done

I can't agree more.
Most of the people are like, Exynos is crap or useless, and when asked a question about why, they don't have any answer except for saying that overheats, seriously? My Exynos note 2 never went over 45°C even after 3 hours of asphalt 8. How is their snapdragon? 0°C much?
There is a special thread dedicated to being disappointed by note 4, Because some people just want to act smart and have more threads to their name, like it gonna give them some of the recognized status without giving anything to the community.
I just want to really give a bad mouth to some of the people making those useless thread, but then, courtesy and kindness to everyone, can't really do much about it.
Some of the people aren't even using a Samsung device and come to the forums to just abuse that device.
Well, to all the haters saying bloated Touchwiz, how is your battery backup? Enjoying 3-4 hours SoT with less than a day's usage?
