I just purchased a 1053 on eBay for use on T-Mobile. What's weird is that something about Brazil was showing on the phone (I'm in the U.S.). What is the latest firmware supposed to be for the XT1053? Thanks.

There are many models unbranded. The ones from latin America and Canada. AFAIK, all can be bootloader unlocked except Nextel Mexico.

If you're planning to get one in Greece, you're out of luck. The Moto X is only for sale in Latin America, US and Canada. UK is not getting it.
What matters most is the spectrum your network supports. Even if the phone was SIM-locked, you could just pay for a SIM-unlock online and leave it at that. If the hardware of the Moto X doesn't support the networks available in Greece, then it's pointless to buy either way.

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand. All phones come with the retail ROM, if that's what you're asking. Just because the ROM title in the site doesn't say it's retail, doesn't mean it isn't.

That's the T-Mobile version of the phone.
The picture you posted is the tmobile version. You would have to buy it from the US then take it to Greece.

I have a soft-bricked Moto X XT1055-DE (GSM Developer Edition) that I can boot into fastboot with, and that's it. Does anybody know where the stock Firmware files are for this device? The host I was using had them yanked down.

I have located another source for the firmware files here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
They must be requested, but they'll give them to you after making you wait.

No, it's not. The idiots at Moto Care seemed to want to brick my phone. They told me THAT was the model number, but now I know better.

I think there is an XT1053 and XT1055 GSM Dev Edition.
Btw, the GSM Dev image that you can download from the motorola link above is for the XT1053, I don't know if you noticed from the file name.
But I believe the hardware of all Moto X models is the same, it's just the software that's different. I'm running the XT1053 image on my XT1058 and it works fine.

Select OTHER CARRIER OR RETAIL, you would see a Moto X - DE (XT1055).
This suggests that there is an XT1055 DE as well...
Thanks for your help. I noticed after taking my Moto X out of the case that the model number is glazed on the bottom. It is, in fact, the XT1053.

So I've had the moto G (2014) for a month now and for some reason I can't detect the latest build version or the lollipop update. My sister has a slightly newer build but she didn't get lollipop either.
Thanks in advance peeps!

Which model do you have? I don't think XT1068 has gotten the Lollipop OTA yet. If you're on XT1064, you can side-load the OTA via ADB.

I just snooped the forums for a quick bit. Sadly Lollipop has not come to the XT1063 yet.
Just in case; I don't recommend you sideload the XT1064 OTA. There have been people complaining in the XT1064 OTA post that functionality was lost since they have a different model.
However, according to this post; Lollipop works. If you decide to use this method, be aware you are flashing a XT1064 OTA on a XT1063 phone. "I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO FLASH STOCK LOLLIPOP ROM OF DIFFERENT MOTO G VARIANT. " -AD9295
I suggest you just wait it out; as painful as it may be.

Oh i wasnt planning to flash it anyway, I am too much of a phone noob that i fear i might brick the phone, I was just worried that it might be my device's fault.
I can't get mine to find the update either. XT1064, locked bootloader, completely stock on 21.11.17 in the U.S. Phone just says software is up to date.

Is it a retail, simlock free, device? Or did you buy it with a provider contract? In the last case you'll have to wait for your provider...

Looked it up in the Amazon store: they're selling 2 variants: the US version and the international version. The US version should have the update by now. The International version has to wait.
What version do you have?
XT1063 Global GSM Single SIM
XT1064 US/Canada GSM Single SIM
XT1068 Global GSM Dual-SIM
XT1069 GSM+GSM+DTV Dual-SIM, Brazil model supporting DTV
As far as I know only the XT1064 has the official Lollipop update by now!
If you bought the "global" version, you probably have the XT1063...
Mine (I'm from Europe) is the XT1068. So i'll have to wait too...

I have an Unlocked Moto Maxx from Puerto Rico. I've seen that the Brazilian variant of the phone has been updated to 5.0.2 already. I was wondering if anyone had any info./news on the Lolipop update for the PR version.
Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling we pr folks are out of luck since our provider is Claropr and we are no longer in good standing with Motorola and have stopped negotiations with them.

Actually i just did it thanks to the great directions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58801128&postcount=1
And here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/guideinstall-lollipop-ota-root-ur-moto-t3029690
Thanks for responding though haha.
I highly recommend that anyone who has a PR or Mexican Moto Maxxs to switch to the BR build as they seem to be getting the most updates(also this process DOESN'T wipe your data!).
Thanks again!
