Hey guys, I need some help, also Im new to this sorta and I apologize if this thread isnt where its supposed to be, anywho i rooted my phone and was installing different roms, just trying them out, i had installed the android rev HD 12.1 rom on to my HTC One and it was working fine, but I watched a couple of reviews on the viperone roms so i decided to switch over just to check it out, i started the flashing and all was going well at first but then it froze for a good while stuck at 0% so i decided to restart the phone... turns out that was a horrible idea because now my back ups are gone and my other roms are missing too. well that was the original problem, I looked around and everywhere they said I had to reinstall my ruu to basically factory reset the phone and the first step is re-locking the bootloader... so i did, now it says "tampered- re-locked" and every now and then it says "security warning." then i started looking for my comapnies ruu and i cant find one... can anyone help?
i forgot to mention i have a T-Mobile HTC One.

Basically, if you want to stay back on root, i suggest you unlock your bootloader again and reflash your custom recovery and move on from there. After that you should flash a stock rom if you want to,by just searching it up in the htc one forums. After you have done that you probably have to start over, which means making a nandroid backup and NOT FORGETTING TO BACK UP. Your roms and all your info will be gone after you unlock the bootloader so remember to back up all your contacts and such into your google acc. Have fun rooting! XD

This is probably the best advice for you.
Just something I wanted to add,
Unlock your boot loader then flash a custom recovery just like the first time you did it.
Then boot to recovery and "adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ " to get a ROM on your phone, and flash away.

Search for it, I think its under the main htc one general. Stay away from RUU unless you have s-off. You can brick your phone if you don't know what your doing.

You just need to unlock your bootloader again using htc developer page. As long as you can get your phone to bootloader you should be ok. I have never used one of the all in one root etc.. things since it is so easy on htc.
unlock bootloader, fastboot flash recovery newesttwrp.img.
Sorry if I'm a noob, I'm new here. And I'm also sorry if this is a little long but please help me, it's pretty urgent.
I rooted my Sprint HTC One successfully a couple of months ago and put CyanogenMod on it.
All went well until I had some mobile network issues with CyanogenMod (which probably could've been fixed but I'm stupid so I couldn't figure it out) so I decided to switch to Android Revolution HD. I don't know what went wrong while putting Android Revolution on, but something got messed up and I got stuck in the bootloader. I couldn't turn the phone off, boot into recovery, or boot into Android. I flashed Team Win Recovery with Hasoon2000's All in One Toolkit and it actually worked to my surprise. I used it to wipe the phone completely and flash CyanogenMod again. Unfortunately, I got stuck in a bootloop. What a surprise . After monkeying around for a while, I went back and flashed AOKP with Team Win Recovery. AOKP went into a bootloop for several minutes, but then it finally booted into an Android home screen. About 5 seconds after booting up, it froze and restarted again. This process continued, with it booting up for several seconds before shutting down and restarting again.
I don't know how to fix this, but I'm fairly sure my phone isn't bricked, as I can go into the recovery and go into Android for a few seconds.
So, that's my dilemma. I'll do anything to fix this as I'm still in my contract for another 500 days. Please help.
P.S. What does S-OFF and S-ON mean and does that have anything to do with my problem?
EDIT: Turns out, Android Revolution HD is not compatible with Sprint. So that must be the problem. I'm an idiot for not realizing that, but at least now we know what caused this problem.

Android revolution is a GSM only ROM. No sprint support. Do a quick search, you'll find a way to fix it. The number of people who've done this is astonishing .

I would probably just format the internal sd and ruu or otg the stock ROM and see if that works. I do know a lot of the Roms aren't compatible with sprint models. Honestly I doubt tour phone is "bricked". That's a strong word to use around here especially if you're able to get into recovery and install a ROM. Devs here ALWAYS post instructions which if followed correctly, u won't have any issues.
Do you get any messages before the phone restarts, after u successfully install a ROM?
Also, s-off and s-on, s stands for security. If you have to ask what it is or if you need it, you should probably leave it alone.

Ah, that must be the problem. I could've sworn I read somewhere that the GSM version would work with Sprint, but I probably shouldn't have trusted that. Thank you and I will post if I find a solution.

I don't get any messages. On some ROMs it displays a welcome screen that lets me choose a language but after choosing a language it restarts, and on other ROMs it will go straight to the home screen and restart a few seconds later.
Seems like the problem is that Android Revolution isn't compatible with Sprint. I'll try to find a way to get CyanogenMod working again somehow, but is there a way I can get stock HTC Sense back?

GSM phones and CDMA phones have different partition setups. Flashing a non-Sprint rom did more damage than just a ROM flash can fix. As I said, the fix has been gone over in detail many times... I'd find you a link but I'm not at home, so just search around.

Probably best to return to stock and start over. There's an Sprint RUU over there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276
and as Cory said, there are other threads that have dealt with this (can't remember them though), so do some googling.

I've been searching for this link also for awhile. I mistakenly flashed Android Revolution 40.1 to my HTC ONE Sprint.. When i went to restore from my back up after that it got stuck in a boot loop. I'm able to connect adb I've wipes my internal storage and side loaded and pushed several roms. Looks like I just need to figure out how to fix the partition.. I've been googling for 2 days and finally this makes sense.. If you by chance have a link I would be forever grateful.

Actually, y'all are not the only ones to flash this ROM by mistake. Right now my phone is caught in a boot loop. It sucks. However, I am confident that if I am diligent about looking I will find a solution. After all, what I have learned thus far is by trial and error. My only hope is that this mistake is not costly.
That said, if anyone finds a solution or knows of a solution that will take me back to stock please post it. Any assistance with this problem is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Oanh S.

Posting for help in someone else thread is not the way to go. Their are a bunch of us here to help, but you need to start your own thread here in the Q&A section.
If you have the same problem as someone else and you read their thread and the solution did not work for you, feel free to start your own thread!

WAIT! Your phone is almost there! Don't write off AndroidRevolution. I'm also running an htc one on sprint (m7wls). If you are reaching the unlock screen but after that get a white htc logo or your system crashes on its own you have an easily fixable problem. Actually, this will probably solve any mobile network problems on sprint.
I succesfully got stock rom working from AndroidRevolution by flashing the latest Sprint Radios from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406330
Use adb to push it to your device then flash it using TWRP or another recovery program. Flashing a non-sprint rom will cause future roms to crash until you flash the radios.

I know
xkcd number 979
I thought that ditching my who-knows-how-old Evo 4G would've saved me from unlocking/rooting/flashing hell but of course not.
The Phone:
Sprint
HTC One
Android - 4.3
S-ON
HBOOT - 1.55
Radio - 1.00.20.0913 (who cares)
Image - 3.04.651.2
All I Really Need:
I need to flash the phone from Sprint to Page Plus. So I need to get it into Diag mode. For that, I need the MSL/SPC.
The Problems:
Revskills and a few other programs + a handful of apps give me all types of errors. I decided to root and use an app that requires root to get the MSL, figuring it would work better. Unlocked my bootloader through HTCDev and attempted to flash a custom rom.
Tried 5 versions of TWRP and try to load recovery - for 4 of them it says loading recovery and then starts the phone as if recovery doesn't exist. TWRP 2.5.0.0 loads up but the touchscreen won't react (I figure that version is too old for my specs.) Both versions of CWM "work" but don't allow access to wherever I'm saving the SuperSU.zip and gives me a list of errors similar to "E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command"
Where I'm At
Just flashed RUU Stock specific to my image. Figured I'd ask before going through that misery again.
Where do you guys suggest I go from here?
I really just need the MSL but root would be awesome to have.
Any and all help (and moral support) is greatly appreciated!

I had a lovely chat with 4 or 5 of them the other day on chat. Anyway, there was no number on the phone since it was brand new and I'm not activating with Sprint. I got the MSL by doing a ton of hard resets and updating every time the os came back up. So if anyone else has the issue of MSL readers, even MSL Utility, not working, hard reset and keep updating everything your phone lets you update (os, hboot, whatever). Then just run the damn thing again. Thanks for all the help though
Hi, I know this has probably been asked soo many times already, and I can't really trust the methods to work, since I fear they might be out of date and will just mess my phone up badly.
I've ran with HTC Sense since I got the phone, I thought I'd try it out before rooting it ASAP when I bought it.
Now, when I've grown tired of this, I find out that, in order to get S-Off, HTC wants to wipe my entire phone, "sdcard" included, along with some preloaded apps. URGH.
So, my main goal here is to get S-Off, without having to backup my entire storage (so many tv episodes and flac), and root, in order to obtain some mods with Xposed. I may or may not flash another rom, at this point, I'm still digging HTC Sense thought.
I'm currently running Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), I haven't brother to update to kitkat, because I wanted to root/S-off at some point
Thank you and I hope you forgive me for posting yet another question like this.
e; Was thinking about it a bit, maybe I could upgrade to kitkat before rooting or so- really curious what it will bring to HTC One (reading a bit about it)
In the one general forum there is a post for firewater s off. There is a temp root option in there that does give the option of doing it without the Dev unlock which does the wipe. It doesn't work for everyone. If that doesn't work though you need to do the Dev unlock which will wipe it. It's not that hard to connect your phone to a computer to back up everything so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Good luck

I'm stuck. I got the new HTC One (m9) and went through the procedure of installing TWRP. I got it all up and running and made a complete backup of my vanilla system. Then a few days later, I get a OTA! I didn't know that you couldn't install OTA's after you had Rooted and installed a different Custom Recovery app. So I searched the Internet for ways to install the OTA. Seems you have to revert the Custom Recovery (In my case, TWRP) back to the original OEM Recovery app. I haven't got a backup of the recovery partition, nor do I have a copy of the App. I found a few sites that claimed they had copies of the appropriate recovery app for my phone (A, T-mobile HTC One (M9).
I looked up varying pieces of information like my Android version 5.0.2, presently 1.32.531.25. (The Update being 1.32.531.33) cid: T-MOB010 and other numbers that I have no idea what they apply too. After about 20 attempts, trying about five different so called 'recovery images' I managed to install one. Then went to my Update procedure and downloaded the update about 6 something MB's. My phone rebooted into the another mode and after a few minutes I was informed that my phone had tried to install a Verizon Update or something like that. I'm a T-mobile user??? What could of happened. I'm guessing there's some link between the recovery img and this issue. As I cant see T-mobile giving me a Verizon update? I believe I must have the wrong recovery.img. However for all my searching I cannot find one categorically and specifically for the T-mobile HTC One (M9). Plenty of M8 stuff though.

That's weird. I dont think the recovery image would matter. There are now backups of the OTA available for download and install within TWRP. I would give that a try. Otherwise, you can reflash your system and try again. For me personally, I ended up restoring my phone back to factory default by putting the RUU zip file as 0PJAIMG.zip in my sdcard and having the phone autoflash back to stock.
Where to get the OTA updates for the new T-mobile HTC One (9)
Where might I get these updates that are configured for rooted T-mobile HTC One (9) running custom recoveries?
