Meh, I've never heard of Geekbench.
There seems to be a new benchmarking software released every week to gauge our phones against.

Geekbench has been around for a pretty long time, it's a pretty standard benchmark program.

is it jsut me or does it seem like the app isn't using all 4 cores. Even the Note 2 if it used all 4 cores should be higher then the Nexus 10 with 2 cores.

now can anyone tell me how is this possible?

is it because he overclocked his processor ? there are some really big gaps like in Blowfish - multi-core scalar where i get 1228 and he gets 2929.. how is this possible?
Is 2200 a good score? Bad score?
I thought they had the same processer apparently they don't dna get a score close to 20000 where xperia z barely makes it to 15500 somethin is very wrong here why does xperia have such a huge difference over 5000 points less so its seems like the 1.5quadcore in xerpia is not as powerful as the the same 1.5 quadcore in dna yet there both from snapdragon so one of them is lieing !!! about there processer... Cause over 5000 points in difference its funny how so many smart people havnt realized this yet lol every other 1.5GHZ snapdragon quadcore is close to 20000 yet the only yes the only phone with the same supposedly same specs is way less then 15500.... explain that :/

Explanation is very simple: ~15000 score was achieved on prototype device with debugging/development 4.1.1 software. Retail devices score from 19500 to ~21000. Score is expected to go up with 4.2 update.
Here's a video for you:
AnTuTu S3 vs Xperia Z
Quadrant S3 vs Xperia Z
Unfortunately I cannot discuss unreleased products and previously posted content must be removed.
Okay I guess they either updated antutu or they updated the firmware on xperia either way the new score is much more better then the one I saw before I can totally live with that score much much better n its a tiny bit more then dna so that's a huge improvement plus will get 4.2 before dna so even such better yup the choice is clear now!!
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda app-developers app
I think the change comes from Xperia firmware - or the hardware used in prototype units. Seen one youtube video where it scored over 21000 so we might still be surprised.
Here's a better tip.
Don't compare a device which is already out than a device which isn't yet.
Did you at least consider how many running apps the Xperia Z is running on that demo unit? For all we know other testers could have just launched an app and pressed home button(without killing the app) so it still consumes resources. If you really want a decent benchmark they should have made a fresh reboot on a device first before doing the benchmark.

Hi,
I wouldn,t say benchmark don't care anybody, but they are useless if not done with identical setup of installed apps etc.
Maybe it would be interesting to compare benchmarks after wipe and flash of custom roms with no additional sw installed. But for myself battery, wifi and other things are more important than max performance.

Battery also drains differently with softwares and widgets installed. So you freeze bloatware and setup apps to fix autonomy.
It the same for performance. I try to get the best of my phone and AnTuTu help me to setup
Regarding modems, sure you can compare wich is the best but not with speedtest. So different results in 5 minutes.
But you can see which get the best signal in différent place
So it's not really easy to compare item... But enjoy to do it

Snapdragon 800 processor in Xiaomi mi 3 scores out of the league 85000 in antutu benchmark. posting this thread here because same chipset will be powering next nexus in November most probably.
Benchmarks prove worthless in case of nexus 4 ...still its smoothest android (yet..) but doesnt score much.... more like having a rifle in hand but shooting like a pistol.
Android is clearly not that heavy duty OS that requires such huge power which no app can utilise...
As far as my views are concerned s4 pro is still not properly utilized in terms of raw power.

So, now that a few of us are finally getting our hands on the devices, let’s get some proper user benchmarks going! Mine should be with me in the next couple of days, but hopefully there’s enough people with phones now to get a good set! Let's see how the snapdragon 800 with pure android compares with the rest of the pack...
EDIT - Let's get a leader board going! I'll only post scores backed up with a screenshot showing the score. (Yes, I know, benchmarks don't really mean that much...)
Geekbench 2 - 4,961 - Simms22
Antutu - 40,723 - Simms22
Quadrant - 30,497 - Simms22
Linpack - 1259 - Simms22
Sunspider - 536 ms (Chrome (/beta)) - Simms22
3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited - 17902 - Newbieandroid
Some suggestions to get going (obviously there will be more that people can run if they want)
Sunspider
GFXBench (GLBenchmark 2.7)
3D Mark
Google Octane
Mozilla Kraken
BrowserMark (2.0)
Vellamo
Linpack
Quadrant
AntuTu
Also it would be nice to see what the read/write speeds of the internal memory are like, so if anyone could post those up it would be great!

So you want to tell me that clocking higher like 10-15% S600 should match S800? sorry but but that's just not possible there is an issue with the N5 being tested imho, the S800 should destroy the S600 no matter of the cheats, they are equal on the graphs.

Not sure what your on about... The note 3 has a snapdragon 800 not a 600
Edit: Oh if you mean the s4, I believe that's the octa core variant not snapdragon. Don't quote me though
And let's not forget, Samsung and others put loads of optimisations for benchmarks that increase the scores, if you had the n4 I'm sure you would have heard of the dalvik patches from the s4? They increased benchmarks from 17-18 to 21k without any oc.

the sammy phones as well as other brands cheat.
motorola and google do not 'tweak' to get better benchmarks.
Google crap always comes without dalvik and krait optimisations. Those scores were totally expected.

Please for the love of God, forget AnTuTu! It's easy to rig and it measures I/O, memory etc., and inconsistently, therefore it doesn't give usable individual benchmarks.
Nexus 5 owners need to run AnandTech's test apps, 3D Mark, Sunspider, Browsermark, Vellamo, Basemark, GLBenchmark, Epic Citadel and Google Octane.
