Hi,
I am wondering about the white icons (wifi and mobile signal).
I thought they appear white, when there is no connection to the Internet or google servers... but this is just fine.
It's all, because in CM and pure android (e.g. Nexus) it gives a hint for troubled data connection...
Ideas? Syncs are all ok and hangouts is installed. Push (gmail) works perfectly.
It just drives me crazy!!

Hi Guys,
I noticed all the data syncs (google syncs in particular like GoMarks, then a currency program i have ) going on with galaxy s (froyo) - if i turn data comm off - it doesnt sync via wifi.
comparing with iphone - you could have all sync via wifi.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thx
not sure what is wrong with your phone, if anything.
but my calendar, emails, phone book and other stuff syncs normally when i'm on WiFi
check your settings perhaps?
did you install any app that might give you some choices related to that?
It may be that your wifi has not all ports open.
sync uses gtalk for the push notifications. Check if you can connect to gtalk when on wifi.

Hi there,
I was wondering why the Gmail labels on my SGS remain blue instead of the colors I gave them in my gmail account via the desktop PC.
Is it possible to show the colored labels on my SGS?

Hello There,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Tab smartphones. When using Facebook App (latest version) on both phones through Wifi, I cant get precise Notifications and also I cannot upload photos to facebook. However, when using 3G, everything works fine. I guess the issue with facebook is that first it uploads some data onto the facebook servers and then gets the relevant notifications. To pin point to problem, I checked with the wifi and it turned out that my wifi (BSNL Broadband in India) broadband has Data Upload Compression (which I can verify through www.speedtest.net). Is there anyway to tweak seetings in android so as to enable the facebook notifications and photo upload in such date upload compression enabled connections. To add, when using my PC through the same broadband, the images gets uploaded to facebook without any problem. So I guess there might be some kind of a minimum bit settings for upload data somewhere, maybe higher in Android and lower in PC connections.
A help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Akshay
Same deal here with HTC Sensation XE. Can upload pics fine via 3G, no go with Wi-Fi.
Basically, I get a notification of new mail on my phone before my web Gmail, which is normal. But when I read or delete an email from my phone, it doesn't sync properly with the normal Gmail client, because those emails are still unread.
I have a possible theory as to why this might be happening: From what I can remember, it seems like on FroyoMOD it was working fine, but any Gingerbread ROM I've been having this issue. Is it possible that because GB isn't really made for our phones, or the Gapps for GB are causing some sort of issue?
Thanks!
Having same issues. Gmail is not the only one having sync issues. In mine cm7 rc12 gb rom, even other apps such as yahoo mail, what's app, Google +, huddle are not notifying me anything even when I hv the background sync option on!

I think there might be something in build.prop that changes the sync. It is not always going to get everything right away as it only syncs every so often.

I have this problem, my father is updating his phone from a Samsung Galaxy Pop to a Galaxy S3 mini (So he is used to TouchWiz and Android) so far so good.
There is only one small problem, he had saved all his contacts in the SIM card (Yes, very old fashioned hehe), now I copied all of them to his Google Account, in contacts I selected "only show contacts from Google Account", and it works fine! (Otherwise it should show duplicated contacts. the old ones from the SIM card and the ones in the Google Account).
BUT
When he want to send a SMS and selects the subject, it shows ALL the contacts in the phone (SIM and Google Account), so it's very anoying!
Contact app only shows the desired but SMS app shows all!
Is there a solution for this?
Best regards
Delete the contacts from the sim card.

You could remove Google account, then remove all contact & add Google account back & sync. If you still have double i'd check then in Google dashboard on a pc.
