Need some help getting a Vodafone UK HTC one to stock - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, I've already got around to resetting my CID to the stock CID number (VODAP102)
I'm using this site for all the downloads http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ - sadly since Vodafone doesn't seem that popular there isn't any RUUs for it, there are however a Nandroid backup, OTA update and Guru-reset.
My phone is currently S-OFF and rooted and has all the lastest firmware e.t.c, and since I can't find a guide on how to go to stock without a RUU I thought I better ask first!
Also side note, when changing firmware using the command with cmd to check the version number is fine, but when the phone is booted and I got to about>software infomation, it still shows the old software number, is that normal?

problem with returning to stock and RUUs

I purchased a One off a friend which he told me had been rooted. I wasn't too keen on the idea but after looking in here it seemed moderately straightforward to get it back to factory settings again (but for the 'tampered' dialogue in the bootloader)
It is a SIM free model from Phones 4U in the UK so I figured I need the Europe RUU. I relocked the bootloader through fast boot but whenever I try to run RUU it freezes my computer up at the flashing stage (having taken sometimes up to TEN MINUTES just to open the app). Assuming it to be my old laptop I went to use my mum's PC and the same thing happens there. I have gotten as far as It saying 'boot loader' version error after an hour of waiting. Does this mean there is no RUU to flash my phone back to stock? And why is the RUU weighing down my phone so much?
Help would be terribly appreciated.
Just an update here. I've unlocked the bootloader again and the original ROM is still present. It's Android Revolution HD.
The recovery is CWM v6.0.3.0
I really want to get back to stock again. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? The guide said to relock the bootloader then flash the RUU but that is what got me in this position. I have two firmware files for Europe, neither of which work (boot loader error or something).
Does this mean that I am screwed with respect to ever getting this on stock firmware? It looks like there is no UK specific stock RUU nor even any nandroid ones.
If someone can help here I'd be really grateful.
You need to check the firmware version on the device at present. There are no UK RUUs as UK falls under EU, any RUU which is x.xx 401.x applies. Having said that, chances are the lastest leaked RUU (1.28.401.7) will be old compared to your current version so it wouldn't work anyway

[Q] HELP! I've really screwed up!!

Yesterday I purchased a PAYG M7 on the o2 network. Wanting to also be able to use it with another SIM, I paid to get an unlocking code.
While waiting for the unlocking code I decided to flash a custom firmware (the stock HTC Google one).
When my unlock code finally arrived it would not work, and it appears to be due to the custom firmware.
So I've been trying to get back to the stock o2 rom (i didn't backup my one). I started by restoring a CWM backup (M7 CWM Nandroid Backup CID 02_102 1.27.206.1) that I found. This worked fine but the bloody touchscreen doesnt work!
So then I had the great idea of flashing an OTA update to the phone (OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_02_UK_1.29.206) which froze CWM.
Finally I tried performing an RUU restore using RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7... but when this got to the end it displayed a "customer ID error"...I'm guessing because i was trying to flash an unbranded firmware to an o2 phone?
So now I'm p*ssed!
All I need to do (i think) is get my phone back to a version of the o2 firmware where the touchscreen will work enabling me to enter the unlock code, and then I can flash straight back to a decent firmware.
But how do i proceed....?
Hard lesson on always making a backup before changing anything
You'll have to ask in the RUU/OTA/Backup thread if someone has a backup of the 4.2.2 ROM as it'll then work with the touchscreen

Would restoring a CWM backup 2.24.980.2 (Australia Unbranded) be of any use?
For anyone who somehow found themselves in the same situation as me, just restore the CWM Backup I mentioned in previous post ( 2.24.980.2 (Australia Unbranded)) and you can then use the touchscreen and unlock the simlock with a code

[Q] How to update firmware?

Hi,
I have been using Cyanogenmod, pretty much since I got my phone. I am tired of the non-working stuff and bugs in it and want to go back to stock, but I have no idea how to go about it. I used the CM auto installer method and I have no backup of my original system. TBH I want to flash ViperOne now, but they require the latest firmware, but mine is very old (I think it was 1.x). I have really no idea where to start and how to go about upgrading the firmware. I was not able to get S-Off .
About 2 weeks ago I downloaded a RUU package from a site looking like an official HTC one, but have no idea what can be the damages of running it. It is just a 1.5G .exe.
My questions are:
What will happen if the RUU is not for my CID and MID?
If I just run this RUU, is there any chance to brick my phone (I am still S-On)?
Will this update my firmware version?
If the process is successful, will I be able to flash ViperOne without S-Off then?
I also found this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276, but have no idea what to download. My phone is unlocked from Hong Kong, but I am using it in Europe (if that information is even necessary).
Any help and pointers are welcome.
Thank you!
Update: After hopping from link to link here, I now cannot see a problem to download the latest RUU .zip for any region, edit the android-info.txt so that it matches my CID and MID numbers and flash it on my device. I read that I do not need S-Off if my firmware version is lower that the one in the RUU. Will this work? Will I have OTA that way?
Thanks

[q] m7 at&t ruu

Hello, guys!
Long storry short - my HTC One M7 died, and they repaired it by changing the motherboard, but now it's AT&T branded of some sort ( it wasn't before, i'm from Bulgaria, we don't have AT&T here ). So everywhere there is AT&T stuff all around the phone, it boots with the AT&T logo and stuff, my CID is changed to CWS_001 .
So my main problem is that hence we don't have AT&T in Bulgaria, i can't get the OTA update for Android 5.0. My android version is 4.4.2, Sense 5.5, Soft number 4.18.592.7 and when i click the AT&T software update icon it says there is no new updates at this time.
I downloaded the RUU from HTC where it's supposed to be the right one for my phone, followed the instructions but just right after the updater starts, it gives me an error which says that it's not the correct RUU and i should find the correct one. I've searched a lot for the right RUU here in the forum, but i got nothing. Plus i don't really understand the whole root, flash stuff and procedures so that's not an option either. Plese help me find the correct RUU for my phone and install the Lollipop and Sense 6 update

its an ruu.exe, all you have to do is to launch the ruu.exe on your windows computer.
nope, still gives me the same error - that the file is not the correct RUU for my phone = (

I think you need to be at least on kitkat firmware to be able to flash lollipop ruu (at least 6.xx.502.x)
so i should install kitkat RUU and then this one?

htc one m8 carrier unlocked reboots after backup restore

Greetings,
Long story but all well known, I tried to make my phone a developers edition, I tried RUU's could never get them to install but once via fastboot, I don't even remember which ruu's I tried but it's driving me insane, phone is S-OFF and unlocked, CID is super CID and MID is sprint's like I THINK it originally was, the restore went throughbut when I start the phone ir reboots when trying to go through the initial setup after it complains about an app crashing.
Model is m8_whl, it all started because I could not get the phone to update to marshmallow through OTA. At one point I flashed the firmware and I believe that it the issue but I have no clue as to what firmware should I be using.
Help please?
