To enable Google now in home screen, go to home, settings and turn on Google Now
To get better UI and UX, change the density from 160 to 145.

To get better Ui and UX with updated Android version, do both the steps.
*To get back original values, revert the changes.

Downloading this to see what you did! How do you intend to "fix" GoogleSearch?
I have Velvet installed on my cm-10.2 (user app). It would FC almost immediately using the libgoogle_recognizer_jni_1.so from the thread. This is closed-source armv7 stuff so sort of cuts us out.
EDITED POST: What I thought was happening was simply wrong: Not the 4.4 Velvet. With what I did have, the following still valid:
That armv7 precompiled close source stuff kills us (if Google is to support "older" devices, it needs to make armv6 precompiled jni's available or make it all open source so we can do them!). However, when I was experimenting with my current configuration, somehow, Google Search's speech input came up. "Initializing en-US." (I have that srec but NOT symlinked in), and then ... it took my voice and used it. Just once, but it did do it! Not an illusion. So maybe this can be fixed up.
EDIT: Conspicous by it absense is the "PrebuiltGMSCore." I did install that, user upgrade to my previous gmscore. Needed by Play and the thread claims that its "prebuilt" version is required by Google Now.
Ext2 partition with cronmod causes boot loop, but nice integration of Google now
nvm. my partitions were messed up
Google Search FC Fix
Hey heres how to fix google search forces closes! Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat the first three steps. Change back to English – US.
Enjoy

This has been bandied about on the thread, sometimes successful, sometimes not.
In our case, I doubt you will see any benefit. I tried it. First off, there is no offline recognition currently working on our device. No off-line options in settings (if one can get that far), no language kits, nothing.
At our stage, Google Search FC trying to initialize/access off-line voice recognition which is armv7 compiled. Bingo. Edit: The Rashed's old modded version apparently neutralized that call. Clicking mic would, of course, FC.

I have Velvet installed on my cm-10.2 (user app). It would FC almost immediately using the libgoogle_recognizer_jni_1.so from the thread. This is closed-source armv7 stuff so sort of cuts us out. However ... brainstorm: Extracted the jni from Rashed's Jan 7 GoogleNow.apk and lo and behold, it starts up, one can do searches, access cards, etc. I can get online voice recognition into it using the voice search assistant widget shortcut and I have that using overlays covering Google Search's mic icons (which are guaranteed FC). Not the most fluid but the thing works.
With the thread's JNI, launcher worked, Google Search FC in a loop. WIth Rashed's, launcher does not find Google Search (which really is the launcher--GoogleHome is a stub and maybe the wallpapers).
With the thread's JNI, I could get to settings->voice if I did it quick enough (before the FC). Offline options not shown. With Rashed's jni, setting->voice FC immediately.

The voice recognition did work for me a few times. I dont know how, but it did. Unfortunately, the FC.
Fortunately, I was able to get a screenshot before the FC popup.

Different thing: I installed it but can't get over the initial settings because the Android keyboard gets FC all the time. Just a corrupt download?
I tried to edit the rom via the Oone editor and install the keyboard i normally use as user app but that won'T help me get over the damn initial settings
Is there actually a way to set a different keyboard than the AOSP as default?
Edit: Found the solution 3 seconds after posting -.- I didn't have the German pack in the LatinME installed, but chosen in the initial settings. That made it crash.
However the question how to set an alternative keyboard as default still interests me, though it might be a little OT

If you want to set alternative keyboard as default, you first have to install it in phone memory and not SD card.
Then i guess, that's it. Now select the keyboard and enjoy!

That's not what I meant I meant rather somehting like replacing the stock keyboard with an alternative (MessagEase in my case), so that it basically 'identifies' this as stock keyboard.

Just place the apk in /system/app/ and change permission to rw-r--r--
Or simply install the app and make it a system app through apps like Link2SD or /system/app mover

Umm.. i have already included the statusbar and the navigation bar gradient. And yes, its a bit messy in some of the apps. I guess because of the Holo light theme. what if i edit the Holo light background to make it black in the statusbar area?

As per screenshots, Wifi, GSM, Data working...
EDIT : Downloading...
Wow! Working Amazingly.. I feel More Smoother and Faster than GB and ICS.
So far No Lags at All, No Force Closes. Sound, Wifi, Data Working. Camera is Working Blindly.
I really love the Speed. Really faster than GB, try it urself. I will Use this as my daily using rom, coz have all functions working for me that i want (Except blinded camera).
TIP : Soft Keyboard is Default Not appearing. Goto Language and Input settings and Press Keyboard and input method, then put hardware Physical keyboard to OFF, after that u can see soft keyboard and of course hardware keyboard also working with the rotation. Keyboard lights Not working.
Thanks FXP
Awesome release by FXP. Work's buttery smooth. Loved the google now app. I am uploading some screenshots.
Known issues
1) Stock Camera won't work as I guess its not yet implemented. But third party apps like fxcamera work without any probs
2) GPS doesn't work
3) Keyboard LED doesn't work
One thing which I liked in this release is that sound is way much better than CM9 release. Hope we get a totally buttery smooth jelly bean for xperia pro soon. Keep up the awesome work FXP team
Hello, thank you very much for the jb rom! YAY! Sorry can I check if I need to flash some other ftf file? And where can I download the ftf file? Or is the ICS one fine?
Edit: Seems to work fine o.o I hope I'm not destroying my phone heh. Thanks for the ROM!
Edit:
Bugs:
- Looks like sometimes the numbers of my keyboard don't work (when i try to log in to my school wifi, i can't type numbers. like the fn key not really working. )
- I get artifacts in the status bar when i get a notification, when the text is sliding up and down (like when your com lags and you're dragging a window around and there is a trail)
- The rotation doesn't lock to landscape when I slide the keyboard out (or did I miss something?)
- The screen bounces left and right when I'm in recovery
- Just a note to others, the loading screen is CM9. I got a shock when I switched it on at first xD
Does the CWM6 sdcard bug still exist?
Also I can't get past the SIM lock screen, the keypad won't show up but the keyboard doesn't work on the SIM screen. :/
Good job. Seems like I'll have to disable my SIM lock temporarily using another rom.
Oooohhh Yeah... FXP My LOVE..
Is there a "what's working/what's not working/partially working" list for CM10?

Only camera and hardware keyboard light problem Only...
To fix the keyboard light/screen orientation problem replace framework-res.apk in /system/framework/ with http://cloud.rhapsody.st/framework-res.apk (best way is to replace it from recovery when android isn't running) (and make sure to backup the current version in case something goes wrong)
To fix some of the graphic glitches (especially the notifcation animation blur) update the adreno drivers from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29513065&postcount=272
Camera preview works with ICS Camera but sometimes kills Surfaceflinger which makes everything to restart.

Hey all,
I noticed CMX still has the CM9 bootanimation, probably because CyanogenMod hasn't made one yet.
However, if you want a different bootanimation, you can try this unofficial bootanimation, it's pretty nice.
Thought I'd share.

The bug has existed since CM9 iirc. However I managed to flash a new rom and get rid of my SIM lock.
Performance of CM10 is good but it's still buggy. Keyboard LEDs don't work and the camera preview sometimes doesn't work, but I don't like that camera app anyway because it has limited options and the preview screen is tiny. The LED flashlight thing for the navigation bar doesn't allow to be selected as well, yet the flash works in the camera app. Plus the camera button half-press doesn't work in the camera app either, which sucks. Unfortunately I didn't test the video fps/quality or the front camera. >.<
Also FXP team, please replace the crap CM10 camera app with the Sony stock one, PLEASE. The CM one SUCKS. Thanks xo.

Smiley76 had posted a fix for the Keyboard LEDs, as well as new Adreno drivers.
I've added them together in a flashable zip, see the attachment, I tested them and found them working.
The keyboard LEDs, as well as the LEDs behind the home button and such work, the Adreno drivers also fixed that blur effect in the framework, just like he said.
But yeah, it's just a flashable update.zip file and it works, so, go ahead if you want
Dympy.
Ps. I'll look into the camera issue, we had the same problem on my old phone, I'll see what I can do about it.

Any work around for the "sim toolkit" ,default message, no/yes?
Shows up all the time.
Deleting stk.apk (sim tool kit) (Edit) works Better to just rename to ...apkk
Also speedtest : only at 3g or less.
I am on VZW.
Just amazing!!
Readable status bar.
Is this indeed 4.1.2 not 4.2.2?
412.
I flashed the Bytecode kernel.
Works better maybe.
Edit breaks wifi.
Again Amazing.
Launching the camera app locks up the phone until you force reboot.

Best Rom Yet...
BEST Rom yet for Droid Razr M xt907
Yes it does have some bugs but afterwards its fast and decent battery life.
Here is how I made MiuiV5 the best i can be.
Important things
1st I installed the Google Play store app.
2nd I used Root Uninstaller to uninstall sim toolkit app because it kept poping up making phone unusable. All I uninstall a couple of other feature I though were annoying. Be careful I recommend diabling things first and see how your phone works then uninstall if you are FULLY CONFIDENT THAT IT WONT MESS UP YOUR Phone.
3rd I uninstalled the gallery and both camera and installed The 4.2 camera and gallery pack.
4th Because Miui doesn't support sdcard in camera app I used FolderMount to link the DCIM on internal to DCIM on my external and You can do it with more folders although only 3 link are supported on free version.
5th and finally If your WiFi misses up install a root explorer or something similar and will not connect then turn off WiFi and go to root/data/misc/dhcp and delete dhcpcd-wilan0 lease. Then your WiFi will start working again. You will have to do this every time you wipe cache and dalvik.
Extra stuff
Installed Musicfx as there is no equalizer
installed Flashplayer with firefoxbeta
installed Setcpu setup profiles to add battery life
Installed pimp my ROM make the ROM faster and improve battery life

1. Common Issue in MIUIv5
2. Resolved as of latest revision
3. Resolved w/ 3rd party English MIUI weather
4. I don't know about this one
5. Bad Resolution base
6. Bad Resolution base
The biggest issue here is that this rom uses the 926s base but does not have the same resolution as the 926, so layouts are not rendering the correct way, It's inevitable that I will need a new 'base rom' for this device, I'm working on it
I miss MIUI. I sure hope this project takes off and gets solid enough for a daily driver. Thank you for your work on this!
hope the new base rom come out soon!
Running through a few tests for ya. looking into different bases for some of the issues. Im still running it as a DD so running and working with bugs. Gonna see if I can streamline them for ya.

Here's the download link if ya wanna play around with it: https://mega.co.nz/#!qk12UYYB!4fg39KkeatkTtcShS4rUljWpU1rGnMC9XL3C17z8Crk, I was wondering if it was possible if we could strip the baseband and modem then maybe turn it into a flashable zip.

it's a different android base though bro. Safestrap won't flash the kernel. It's possible that Odin might work for that though.
I'm not a fan of some of the visual changes though in lolipop. Dialer and messages.

Not yet I'm tempted too, while I had my HD2 in service for awhile no real top quality smartphone or android device, it kinda made me embrace the better side of AOSP Rom's, before I hated them and felt like they were too naked and bare minimal, now I guess my Note 3 is trying to push me into flashing a new rom text messages stopped working for no reason, I've been meaning to flash a new rom and get away from stock and experiment a little, I'd advise downloading the rom in something like firefox, for some reason it kept failing to download halfway through in Chrome on my Desktop though.

I would be flashing but dang safestrap keeps checking signature verification, it even failed signature verification on alliance rom v7.1, WTF How do I disable that? I shouldn't be getting that error especially on a rom made for this phone!

I don't get it that rom says it's for our phone. I'm tempted to try it, kind of a hybrid of N9005 and N900A mixed with Note 4 features.
The installation looks rather complex though install this odin that then flash this. LoL :cyclops:

Done.
This is for discussion of the official nightly builds of CyanogenMod 12.1.
You must have an unlocked bootloader to flash this rom. Please see https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images for information on unlocking your bootloader and restoring back to factory firmware.
You must have a custom recovery in order to install this rom. Please see this thread for more information. cm-recovery-nexus-player-fugu
You can either put this on your nexus player internal storage or use adb sideload to install.
This is a hybrid rom. Once you finish setup you will see a popup to choose your launcher. Choose "Home" if you want the default leanback ui, or choose Trebuchet if you want the full android launcher and settings.
Note:
The Nexus Remote if fully supported. If you use the LeanBack gapps it will go through the pairing tutorial automatically at first boot. If you choose to not use gapps or use other gapps, just press the bottom button to initiate pairing.

If you use the full Android gapps you will need an OTG mouse to complete setup and for navigating some apps.
I have included Google+, Gmail, YouTube, Hangouts, and Search as they don't show up in the market currently.
Modified the updater script to enable the navigation bar and set the default density to 240. Patch is still pending to enable the status bar, so currently there is no status bar even with full gapps.

Yes sir, if you use the leanback gapps it will go through the pairing tutorial automatically, if you don't use gapps or you try other full gapps (make sure they don't have maps), then just push the bottom button to initiate pairing.
It runs good, fast and smooth. As you mentioned mic is not working. Another issue so far, when you uninstall an apps it doesn't remove/uninstall. Thanks for your great work. Nice to see someone is working on nexusplayer.

I noticed the uninstall failure last night too. I'll try to logact and see what's wrong.
EDIT: Uploading a new gapps package had to remove the CanvasPackageInstaller.apk and just let the regular PackageInstaller take care of it
Hello, thanks for building this and the recovery. I dirty flashed this over stock and it's working good , it seems snappier than stock . Live TV through kodi plays better now , it wasn't very watchable before, even the HDhomerun view app plays the video better .. Thanks..
Hello, your cm20150420 build will not install , I get , signature verification failed . so I reflashed your build from 0419 and new gapps to fix the apps not uninstalling problem. Thanks..
I got that as well figured it was my fault... Is there a link to the older build?
Hey @dhacker29 !
I'd like to thank you for this, and at the same time ask if we had access to LeanBack App source, or if you are adding them in post-build?
Also, would you at all be interested in taking a look at creating something similar to this for the ADT-1? (The developer box that Google sent out after IO in 2014). We have ADT-1 kernel source, & a repacked CWM Recovery, but no device tree, which makes Custom ROMs fairly hard to do.

Unfortunately Google shipped the leanback launcher as a prebuilt in the proprietary blobs package so no source to modify there. Without having the adt-1 it would be hard to build a device tree. What are the specs? Processor graphics chip etc

That sucks.
Spec list here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2jlz3z/the_developer_adt1_vs_the_nexus_player_vs_amazon/
Note: they say that some have the Tegra K1, but I've had a few, and friends have a few, and I have only seen Tegra 4's.
I had previously heard of extracting a device tree from a boot IMG I don't know if that still applies, I'll try to find a link.
Its pretty awesome actually compared to the NP. If you want one, jut Google it, and fill out the ADT request form. When they ask what you will do with it, just fill I'm something like "security research/app developement", and with your history, you are bound to get one. I have links to self made CWM images, but I doubt they'd help you much. I can also provide system dumps, etc. Just let me know if your interested.

Im using xda app and I don't see the screenshot tab.
So far I installed and used the full gapps package. I found no status bar or navigation bar, and the cursor has a black box at times. Runs good though, remote to, except for voice. Using trebuchet to play with it. Are you planning on adding status bar and navigation in or do you advise using the leanback launcher? I liked using my mouse to navigate while i was on lollirock, but can't because of this and can't go backwards from most screens.

The statusbar should be present if you used the full android gapps. Also, if you want soft keys, add this to your build.prop
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Then reboot.

Are you able to to get to the Google Now panel by swiping right? The way I read the XDA article about this release of the launcher, as long as you are on a Pixel or Nexus device, root is not required (even though I have root) and it is not required to be installed as a system app.
Quote from the XDA article:
"All you have to do is download the Pixel Launcher that we uploaded below and install it onto your device. It doesn’t need to be installed onto the system partition (meaning it doesn’t need root), and if you already have the Pixel Launcher installed then it will just install right on top of it. Enjoy!"
I have tried installing the new launcher over the older one I had installed and doing a clean install of the the new .apk you referenced and the .apk referenced in the XDA article and I cannot get swipe to the right to take me to the Google Now panel. The calendar/weather widget is working fine so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

I think XDA post means that Pixel 2 launcher itself doesn't require root to work, but the google now feature still need root access.

Thanks for your response. Some additional research I did (which I won't bore everyone with for such a small issue) also seems to indicate that Google Now will work with the new Pixel Launcher without it being installed as a system app. If it ends up that it does need to be installed as a System app I'm going to switch back to Launcher3, which lets Google Now work without Launcher3 being installed as a System app, and it has some other nice features.

There is a rootless mod version here . However, the vanilla pixel 2 launcher still need to be installed as a system app.

I saw that earlier, I really don't want to do a bunch of work arounds. If I get no other by the time I wake up tomorrow afternoon I'm going back to launcher3. It worked perfectly for me without modifications and I have it backed up with Titanium Backup so it's just I simple restore to get back to where I was. Thanks.
Seems to work out of the box with version 1.2. No work arounds required

Absolutely, Launcher3 version 2.1 works great but I have seen some decreased battery life using it. I like the new calendar/weather widget and the bottom search bar in the new Pixel launcher from the Pixel 2 so that is why I switched. Both of those work great after I installed the new Pixel launcher and my battery life increased quite dramatically, but I can't get swipe right to access the Google Now panel to work. From the XDA article here, the way I read it is if you have a Pixel or Nexus phone the .apk does not have to be installed as a system app for the Google Now panel to work:
"We should note that the Google Now panel will not work if you install the official version below on a non-Google Nexus or Pixel device as the Pixel Launcher needs to be installed as a system app in order for it to show the Google Now panel"
It indicates the same in the install instructions:
"It doesn’t need to be installed onto the system partition (meaning it doesn’t need root)"
There is a modded version that allows the Google Now panel to work on non Pixel and Nexus devises but I have a Nexus so I don't think I should need to use the modded version:
"Alternatively, you can install this modified version of the Google Pixel Launcher by XDA Senior Member paphonb. His version works on non-Google devices and allows you to use the Google Now panel"
Maybe I am just reading it incorrectly but it reads that the unmodified version will allow swipe right to access the Google Now panel.
mine swipes right.

That's the modded version from the XDA article I linked. I was hoping to go with the official unmodded version but it appears that that is not going to work. Thanks.

The original one will show Google now if you use Titanium (or similar app) to make it a system app.

I use Magisk for root. Do you know if making it a system app with Titanium Backup will mess up passing the SafetyNet check?

I converted it to a system app using Titanium Backup and it doesn't appear to have affected the SafetyNet status. If Launcher3 is updated to include the calendar/weather widget and the bottom search bar I'll probably switch back as I like some of the other features it offers.
I actually just found that there is a Magisk module called "App Systemizer" that would have probably done what you where looking for also.
guys there is a link to the newest google wallpapers.on this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97-4GjMzOgw
i installed them and it fixed the white "G" in the search bar to the multicolored one.
it looks amazing

Thanks for the tip. I'm pretty new to Magisk and I haven't taken a look at any of the modules yet. I will need to do so soon.
Wrong times in Now Cards
Hello everyone. The application is installed as a system. Everything works as well, except for the time of the sports cards. Shows my upcoming games with a wrong time zone, not my local time. This happens only on the preview of the football match itself (shows 2:45 PM). When clicking on the card with the additional information, the correct time is displayed (in this case 21:45). See attached images.
Where to search for the problem - in Pixel Launcher, in Google App, or my account? If it matters, I delete the data of both apps and set them up again without success ...
By returning an old version of Pixel Launcher this problem is gone.
What is the best way to get the Pixel bottom Navbar? I see a lot of screenshots with the Pixel Navbar. I'm running Pixel 2 Launcher, rooted.
Highly the final version !!! I prefer to stay for the moment on MOKEE
