Lock/Power button problem. - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think that the Power button on my Xperia Z1 is going to stop working sooner or later, recently it has got very soft to press, no clicking feeling really.
I'm not sure if this is a sign that it will break, or what to think?
...
Or whether I can return it as it's two months into my contract with 02, and it came preinstalled with an 02 ROM, and since then I have flashed the UK unbranded ftf on it.

Yes, just flash the FTF you made before flashing a new FTF (You did make one didn't you?)
Or look in the mega collection for the O2 branded FTF.
Also, you can always root, install xposed framework and use xposed addition module to remap volume keys to work as power keys instead,

[Q] c5306 customization number

Hi there... does anyone have the c5306 customization numbers or knows if the c5603 ones work with the c5606?
I have read/search through the forum but i havent been able to find the answer to my 2 questions.
I stumped into this post and hence my 2nd question.
All i want to do is flash the 12.0.A.2.254 kernel on my SP via the build.prop + Companion method, so if anyone has a better way or suggestion i'll be happy to read it, thx
(already rooted my SP)
Oh cmon guys, anyone? Or perhaps an advice in how to get my phone updated if there's no firmware updates available in my country?
Sent from my C5306 using xda app-developers app

So, turns out c5603 firmware DOES work with the c5606, LTE working and all, I haven't seen anything wrong (besides the obvious wrong model showing on the phone info) so far.
Flashed the Deutschland LTE ftf via flashtool.

Thanks.
Also with newly flashed rom, i dont see the LTE symbol on the status bar. It has bars all the time -whether i'm on wifi or LTE. I see some threads talking about adding the APN for my carrier, but would that change the status bar notification? It looks like thats the way the ROM is.
I'm close to reverting back to my bell rom - its a pity its still on 4.1
For any canadian bell users, what ROM are you using that works well???

Can't upgrade to Kit Kat

Hi Guys,
For some reason I cannot upgrade to Kit Kat...
When I plug my phone into PC Companion it says that I already have the latest version.
My problem started with the previous upgrade. All seemed well during the upgrade process but when I looked I had none of the new features and my build number still showed. 290
I tried to run it again but it said that I already has the latest firmware. Now it's refusing to recognise any new firmware telling me that I am updated when I'm not
Any advice anybody?

It might be that your carrier hasn't released the update yet.

Hey no my phone is unlocked and simfree. It's just not recognising the firmware on my phone. I have not even been able to update to 136 as my firmware is on 290 still and it's telling me that I have the latest firmware... Which I obviously don't.

Happened to me too. Here's what I did. I flashed this ftf. You can flash any other KitKat ftf that you prefer in the general section. Just make sure that it has this firmware (14.3.A.0.681) and uses the same model number (C6903).

[Q] [Q-C6602] Requesting help for downgrading and rooting

Hello fellow XDA members.
I have been reading and searching thoroughly the forums for the past weeks and I haven't been able to find a stock ftf file for Z(C6602).
I am trying to downgrade to 4.2.2(.67) for rooting purposes and to backup the TA, then to unlock the bootloader. I bought the phone during autumn last year, from Sony USA as an unlocked phone. I currently am running kitkat(10.5.A.0.230). Also, I am currently living in Romania and using Vodafone as a carrier.
I'm in need of a stock ftf file running 4.2.2 , right for my region. I couldn't find one that suits my needs. If anyone could find one and point me at it, that would be great.
Thanks in advance
You can use any 67 FTF that's for the C6602. It doesn't have to be one specifically for your region/carrier.
Edit - Here's a US 67 rom.

[Q] Will flashing a D5803 to D5833 make a difference

Hi,
I am making an android AOSP 5.1 for my Xperia, but I can't build it for my D5833, Would flashing a D5803 firmware on D5833 make a difference?
I am in Australia with a Z3C brought from Telstra, unlocked bootloader etc.
Nope there should be no problems. I am using a D5803 Italian lollipop firmware on my D5833 and it's working fine

Awesome, thanks for the reply
In saying that, would i need to get a D5803 firmware with the same customization number? or just the firmware number

Yeah, I did flash it.
I used xperifirm to download a Generic Latinamerican Firmware, because Im from Chile, and I use carrier Movistar, and their firmware is soooooo old, is the number version you use to root the z3c (the one finishing in .93)
After that, I used flashtool (I used 0.9.18.3) and built the firmware, but left cust-reset.ta and the other reset.ta out of it.
Finally, with the same flashtool I flashed everything, except baseband and in wipe I unticked data.
Took a long while to flash and a longer to boot (optimizing apps blabla) but it runs great.
EDIT: Working with it a little more, the only thing I dont have working is the led notifications.
EDIT2: Yes I do. Turns out I love to use the phone in silent mode...but silent mode [and priority mode] disables led notifications (even if they are in fact enabled in settings). So I have to use "sound mode" and vibration.
