I'm using an AT&T and I'm looking to get S-OFF but I'm having issues with it and failing after pouring 8 times. I've tried it several times with no success. Now I had a stock AT&T ONE, not a GPE, but I flashed a signed, 3.06.1700.10 firmware, which I'm now on. I'm stuck because I can't update my firmware and cannot get S-OFF.
I'd like to figure out how I can get S-OFF or update my firmware and try another version of rumrunner.

All but USB 2.0. I tried using this ROM first, 3.06.1700.10 - Stock HTC Google Play Edition v1.1, but I had problems with it failing on the ADB. So I flashed ARHD 4.1 GE ROM and didn't have any ADB issues but it would just go through the pours and tell me to try again.
Someone mentioned udating the firmware to 3.07.1700.10 but I can't do that as it doesn't appear to be a signed firmware.
I've achieved S-OFF.
I was on firmware 3.06.1700.10. Flashed ARHD 4.1 GE ROM and used the Rumrunner for firmware 3.07.1700.10 and had no problems at all. Worked the first time through.

Hello XDA-Users,
I have a Question for what I can't find any awnswer...
I have an International HTC One with CID T-MOB101, HBOOT 1.55 and I want to S-OFF.
I already unlocked via HTCDev and flashed a custom Rom.
But with rumrunners S-OFF method it failes every time.. I used many various custom roms, but with no it works.
I can't go back to really stock to try it then, because for this I need S-OFF...
Sometimes it poures 8 times and write then, I have to wait 30 seconds, pray, (...) and try it again. When I tried it again it fails again...
Another time it says you have to flash an other Rom or something else.
So I don't know what Rom to try for getting S-Off..
If someone knows how to fix it, or what Rom to try, write me please.
Please help me
Thanks.
I am having the exact same issue!

I tried the rumrunner tool on 4 different PCs, each of them with Windows 7 Ultimate x86 or x64 and always on USB 2.0 port without any Hubs or something like that. The phone was always directly connected to an USB 2.0 port. I also tried different usb cables.
I always ran soju.exe as Administrator and accepted every Superuser request.
ROMs I tried it with: Stock Android 4.3 Sense 5.5, Android Revolution HD 41.0 and ViperOne 3.5.0
I even used an Ubuntu 13.10 Live CD but it never worked.
My bootloader is of course unlocked, TWRP 2.6.3.3 is installed and the phone is/was rooted on every rom I tried.
I attached the linux terminal log and the windows cmd log.
EDIT: I used the latest rumrunner v0.5.0.
Yep
We have exactly the same issues...
I'm trying now on Viper One 4.0.1, the new One.. Hope it works :fingers-crossed:
But I don't know why this doesn't work...

After some emailing back and forth the last couple of days, I agreed to accept the risks and be a test case to see if it was possible to S-OFF my device, since my firmware was to new to make use of the existing exploits Rumrunner 0.5.0 is using. So we had a remote session together..... and a couple of minutes later my phone was S-OFF.
Don't ask me what the devs did, I looked at the adb screen, saw lots of commands and screen output flying around, but for the most part didn't understand it... Anyway my phone is still alive and I'm S-OFF.
Thx devs and I also made a donation (1HE93648R1560915F)!

At least we now know that the rumrunner devs have a working exploit for the latest firmware and hboot version.
We just need to wait for them to release an updated version of their tool.
Great

Just boot your device into bootloader and then run this command in terminal/cmd "fastboot getvar all".

Hello,
I recently got HTC One locked to AT&T network and bought code online but it didn't work. I also made sure SIM card was active and had positive amount, not locked by PIN or PUK, phone is not stolen or blacklisted. Did factory reset and tried again but no luck..
First I tried it on stock phone:
- Android 4.1.2,
- Baseband version 4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01L,
- Build number 1.26.502.10 CL166754 release-keys
Then I followed this guide [Tutorial] Root, Unlock, Recovery and flashing a Custom ROM ... unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM recovery, installed stock rooted 1.26.502.15 Android 4.1.2. I did not install custom rom/kernel.
Tried unlocking with code but again, no luck.
After that I followed this guide [GUIDE] How to Return to 100% Stock ... I got S-Off with revone, restored using a RUU.exe, removed Tampered.
Atm this is info from bootloader:
Code:
(bootloader) version: 0.5

Do I have to relock bootloader and try applying the code again?
Please help me solve this problem. I'm willing to donate 20$, to whoever help me solve problem.
Should I try updating 4.4.2 zip OTA and then applying the code? Will that help anyhow?

Why did you started a new thread? You already have one here with the exact same info...
5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. I would also add that I tried to restore the firmware using Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.401.8 and then OTA update but it only caused permanent bootloot

There is already a thread discussing about s-off on hboot 1.56 here
you'll probably find an answer there.
Afaik you'll need a rooted rom + an unsecured kernel to achieve s-off.

Hey i got this problem when using rumrunner "adbd can not run as root in production builds"
Hi All
I had my M7 HTC One rooted with s-off running a GPE from mike1976 and all was good with the world.
I'm getting a new phone so am passing this to my mum and decided it would be better for her with everything stock so that she can get updates.
Anyway, I am having huge issues. The phone is back to stock running 4.3 but I cannot run the update as I get the variant system version issue.
I used a Guru Reset rom for the M7, although I can't remember exactly which one. However, I made sure it was for the correct CID and MID.
Getvar gives me this:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.44.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4A.13.3231.27

(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4287mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP

I can see the it's not showing any information for version-main. Any ideas why this would be?
Can anyone offer any advice on how I can try to resolved this?
Many thanks

Variant version error is caused by a mismatch between the OS version and the MID, you'll have to s-off the phone again and change the MID to match the OS or change the OS to match the MID.
What is the OS version?
edit:
And your CID is incorrect, it should be HTC__001 not htc__001
Thanks, I'll change the CID.
The OS is 3.62.401.1.

OS is 3.62.401.1 but bootloader is 1.44 which means your OS and your firmware version doesn't match together.
Are you sure you have flashed the .401 version that is made for PN0710000 and not that one for PN0711000?
What method did you used to get back to stock? It looks like your phone is not really stock... Your hboot should be 1.55 on that version.
I think you should s-off the phone again, and run a full ruu (1.28.401.7) with PN0710000 and HTC__001
then you'll be able to apply ota updates from 1.28.401.7 to 6.09.401.5
Really appreciate your help. I'll try it when i get home.
To begin with, I'm not a very smart man. Some would call me an idiot. I started clicking things and I'm afraid I screwed up my phone
My AT&T M7 was bootloader unlocked, S-OFF, TWRP installed, Custom ROM (PA), and rooted. I wanted to sell it so I got a SIM Unlock code from AT&T. I went to input the unlock code and it wouldn't work. Apparently you have to be on stock hboot (which I wasn't since I did the google play edition conversion a long time ago) and on a stock ROM (which I also wasn't). So I tried to restore through an RUU.exe and it wouldn't work. RUU.zip didn't work either. So I restored my CID to CWS__001 and that didn't work (I had super CID before). I restored back to stock hboot 1.44 easily. Then I guess I somehow started just clicking random combinations of things inside of HTC One Toolkit and managed to relock my device and s-on so that I could try to restore a stock RUU. I must have done that incorrectly though because now I have no ROM installed, no recovery installed, and I'm S-ON with a message that says "security warning". I'm unable to flash a ROM since I don't have a recovery.
I went to HTC Dev to get an unlock code, which I did, but fastboot bootloader unlock says successful and does nothing. Additionally, I am unable to flash a recovery because I am S-ON.
Help! Any way to get S-OFF trough fastboot only without a ROM installed? Any way to force flash a recovery? Any way to force flash a ROM? Any way to get RUU to not spit out error 158? HELP!!!

Try a different RUU like this one: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_jb43_sense50_mr_cingular_us_3-17-502-3_radio_4a-19-3263-13_10-38j-1157-04_release_334235_signed_2-exe/ In the future, don't use toolkits it is easy to lose track of what is really happening to your phone with them. It is better to stick with the raw commands of fastboot and adb. Use this tool to install them and most sites will give you the appropriate commands to perform the various tasks.
