If I were you I wouldn't even bother with the stock ROM then. I would root, install SafeStrap, and then install the Google Play Edition ROM. More information on this can be found in this thread.

you could always buy titanium backup root and uninstall whatever apps you want to remove.

you made my day i would have kissed you (not lips) if you were infront of me YEE HAW!!! s4 comes alive again.
thanks again buddy
by the way if i dont delete those apps how will i have internal memory empty ? to install other roms through safestrap

Personally, I wouldn't delete them, just freeze them. You never know when you might have to go back to stock, and people have had problems, running stock without some of the bloatware. If you really want to delete them, make a backup.

Stock tmobile flash rom

Hello,
Is there anyone who has this file? Or knows how to make a proper dump?
I think we need a REAL dump 100% working for TMO.
Thanks to all that help.

thank you MS_guru (forever in my good graces)
There are numerous differences b/t stock and the MS_Guru one and some of the bloatware being removed is the only positive one I can find. It has lots of problems. (i.e. market missing tons of apps, lots of problems w/ sync constantly running, media scanner running over and over, USB connction to pc is unreliable, ROM rebooting randomly,)
Huge, huge thanks to MS_Guru for getting this (it saved more than a few of us) but I agree with the need for a 100% working stock ROM.

I Think the guy is asking about shipped rom, the one the guru posted is pre-released, I know there is a difference because I got my phone shipped and there was no T-mobile sync and some software was different. I wouldn't mind getting Original "shipped" rom myself, I have some fc and loss of 3G with guru's image.

Looking at the CSC files it looks like the release ROM is JFD that may help you track it down
From what i have heard about the rom posted here.
Its a pre-release rom. We need the real deal. I cannot believe no one on this forum doesnt know any TMO support guys. To get us a firmware.
It sucks that captivate users have access to a stock rom but we don't =/

I could make one, but I had already removed a ton of system apps before I flashed the recovery. SO Im not exactly stock. That said I never tired using the beta recovery, so Its all stock kernel, ROM, etc otherwise
Yours is going to be better than anything else we've got. Would you mind posting it?

[Q] The LG Thrill,Finally Got It! looking for help

Hello Guys,
starting with a ton of thanks to all of you, that let this place be the wonderful place it is for people looking for some news and advices etc. etc. etc.
and absolutly sorry in advance if i havent find what i'm looking for, boring people with the noob thread, but that's it, i've a couple of questions.
i finally got my LG Thrill 4G and i live in Italy and quite everything is working fine with the stock rom, but i've yet customized my old (bad) Motorola Backflip with a GB Rom,and i would like to test some customized Rom,but for example is hard to find the Rom, cause dead links, and i have a couple of questions:
1-i've rooted the phone and installed the CWM (and it works, cause i accidentally delete some system file and done a restore with a saved backup through the recovery) i've also downloaded from market the Rom manager ,but doesn't recognized my recovery and ask me again to flash the cwm, but it shows just the Optimus v and the Optimus 2x options not the thrill or the O3D. so the question is, how is it possible that it doesn't recognize it? is a problem between the download from the market,i'm pretty sure to have followed instructions in the right way, cause it works. why there isn't the right choiche for the thrill?some suggestions? Thanks in Advance
2-i'm in Italy so i can't use a lot of bloat like every kind of at&t stuff and i was wondering if ,like for the Rom customized, there is a way just to trash all of this things i never use, cause sometimes i received message you cant trash it.
there is a particolar procedur to follow to don't lose some system file uninstalling them?
and finally the third
i've seen that some of the Rom of the O3D i can use on the thrill, there some problems with the radio,or some advice in using an "european" Rom in an usa phone?
thanks to all

It's a fantastic phone as far as hardware. The majority of us are a bit bitter over the lack of software support from manufacturer/carrier in the US. If you have the 30 day return policy, I'd give the phone a chance.
I really like mine. Stick with the stock ROM, just remove all of the bloat ware. Other ROMS aren't ready yet. Maybe they never will be, but at least stock works.
I used the Galaxy One-Click Root program and(yes it worked) then removed all of the garbage AT&T junked it up with. Runs great other than the camera acting wonky every now and again. I agree about staying with official build rom. As bad as I want Gingerbread, I'm not wanting the headache of what works, and what doesn't work.

i think it too , and here in italy we dont' have a policy like this, here the O3D costs about 600 euros, and is really not affordable.
but in any case i've got mine and i'm really happy with it.
just the battery is a bit sad,but nothing major looking at galaxy s2 or other smartphone.
i'm very glad about it.

extended battery (haven't tried it, though)
Another silly question:
I've tested a couple of roms and i'm trying using a O3D,but i've read that GB Roms have 3d issues.
Wich is one Froyo based Rom that goes fast and stable, without battery draining and can still use 3d and hdmi?
If i update the baseband to GB,i can restore or install Froyo Roms, without change it?
Many thanks to all.
P.s.
Just to let you know, in Italy,on my thrill,
Thriller, and Thrill_seeker are good, but also the doomed Froyo.
The stock Rom of O3D is good too,but still drain batt.
Thanks to all.
Stavo pensando se c'e' bisogno di qualche traduzione in italiano per i miei compaesani, che come me hanno acquistato un bel Thrill.
Saluti.

[Q] Galaxy ace s5830 low memory

Hello,
As most of you guys know, the galaxy ace has a problem with low internal memory. So my question goes, is it smart to put a ROM like Hiui on this phone or stay with the originial ROM? Regarding the space it keeps open, because i keep getting low memory errors.
Anyway thank you for your time!
Kind regards,
Jordi Sipkens

If you have memory problems and a rooted phone, you can use link2sd and maybe the "link2sd extreme": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123862
You could also install CronMod, or the psn memory mod.
I would switch to another rom, because the stock rom is just so lame and slow  .
At the moment I still use Space Cakers SG SII rom v9 Still the best, if you like the sgs2 style

There are several solutions, for sure you have to root the phone. You can opt for a conservative solution, keeping the original rom and installing Link2SD, that puts you 100M free in IM in normal use, or you can look for other rom, there is plenty of variety and you should look for bugs reported and feedback from users before choosing [not forget CWM for flashing custom roms and make total security] here at xda younhave all the guidelines for root, CMW and roms.
Hope I helped
Alright thanks for the replys! I'm gonna look into your suggestions tomorrow. It is actually my girlfriend's phone, so i gotta do some deep research before i ruine her phone.

it is wise to read more about it, I'm sure you wont brick her phone, however take into account two facts: rooting voids the guarantee, and make sure the rom is for your phone (has a letter at the end or not) or you get a hard brick :highfive:

[Q] Going to get my Developer Edition this week..what to do?

All,
Going to be getting my new Developer Edition this week and wondering if I should root and install a ROM on it? I'm on the S3 right now and have been a crack flasher throughout all my Android phones...I have slowed down a bit over the years due to being tired of flashing and troubleshooting etc..
Though I just started checking out the Development section in this forum, just wondering did you guys automatically rooted and install new rom when you got it or still on stock and let it be?
Just want some opinions on the matter. I'm leaning towards leaving it stock for the time being and maybe flashing a new rom later. Does the current Roms add that much enhancements to the phone?
Thanks for all opinion.
Almost every ROM for the One that I've seen has either been a variation of Sense, or a dump off from a Google Edition. I would root your device for the apps that need the permissions ( i.e Titanium backup) but wait for the ROMs, unless you really want to try out Sense.
I'm rooted, but I still choose to use Sense as my daily driver. It has a refreshing UI, and its not all that intrusive compared to earlier versions of it.
Hope this helps!

Ah yes, of course! Is the Dev Edition known for stuck pixels?
One last thing, is the Developer Edition already S-Off or do I need to do that also?
You will need to S-OFF. It only comes unlocked (bootloader). As for stuck pixel, it isn't any more prevalent in the Developer line than others. The HTC LCD supplier has kinda 50/50 in terms of having stuck pixels. At least that's what the xda poll indicates.
Ok, one last thing I promise.....Anything special I need to do in regards to APN's, radios etc...when I set up a new account with At&t? I'm coming from Verizon and porting over my number to At&t. Once I get my phone, I'm just gonna go to At&t, get the plan I want, get an LTE sim and pop it in.
I've read people talking of signal stregth, APN's, radios etc...Do I need to update anything or flash anything?
How are radios updated anyways with the Dev Edition?

Developer edition is pretty much identical to the AT&T version. You shouldn't need to update anything to get it running.

Restore bloatware
I got my gs4 a few weeks ago. I currently have the ME7 version. When I fist got it I rooted it and deleted all the bloatware. Big mistake. I know, I'm a total noob. Now I can't upgrade. Is there anyway I can restore all the bloatware so I can upgrade my phone? In the future I know just to freeze the bloatware and not remove it completely. I also didn't make a backup of the bloatware because I didn't think I would need it again. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

In addition this the the forum for the S4 Active and it looks like you have the Verizon S4. You need to post your questions in the Verizon S4 forum to get a relevant response to your question.
