I've tried working with both Revolutionary and Moonshine, and I can't seem to get it done. I'm on hboot 1.44. Is there a good walkthrough for someone who isn't the best at command line. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Running ViperOne 2.7 (Have tried with stock rom as well) and I have the M7att edition of the phone.

I think your issue is equal to mine: maybe you flashed on your unlocked One an Android 4.3 Version. That seams to be the cause that not allow us to use Revone also with 1.44 . I think we need to flash a 4.2 before use revone. Is it correct to anyone that knows the solution?

I'm on ViperOne 2.7 which is 4.2.2. I haven't used 4.3 for more than a cursory install of the RC from the Viper team.

So my idea was not correct , but if error is on adb shell, it means that tool doesn't work Android Side for something wrong on release, as it had to work before.. I didnt update firmware or other, I just updated the ROM and kernel, and you?
I have a different rom, but I use the stock kernel.

This is not the solution to our issue: the toolkit use revone as you use it by command lines. So if it doesn't work by commands, it doesn't work by toolkit.. I want just know if I need to return to my stock nandroid backup in order to use revone or not, or I need to flash a 4.2 for example. Just few information guys, who knows please help us .
So guys, anyone know if I need to flash an Android 4.1/4.2 Rom in order to use revone
To soff my One? I repeat, I'm on 4.3 with ARHD 31 and hboot 1.44.
Thanks

You may need to search VERY hard for something called rumrunner.

hboot 1.54 = firmware 2.xx = ROM based on 4.2
40.3 is already 4.4 and 31.6 is 4.3, it MAY work and maybe it won't.
and "the last part doesn't work" isn't very specific, is it?
Not trying to be an a**, but saying things like "i'm on latest version" doesnt really say much.
Versions usually have numbers for a reason.

Ok, as far as i know not sure if you can s-off while on kitkat..so for the sake of s-offing, flash ARHD 31.6 (ive used this to s-off my device twice on hboot 1.55 and it works) it should work for you too. and for revone and moonshine won't do since you need to use rumrunner for hboots 1.54 and 1.55
Now, im assuming you already have adb set up and know how to use adb and fastboot commands, so go on n check out this thread and then go to www.rumrunner.us and download the universal version 0.5.0 and remember to follow all the directions (most importantly disabling all firewall/antivirus, as this is what plagues most people). and then you should have s-off
thank you, I've tried this again and this time it worked!

i need help desperately please. so i bought a sprint htc one to unlock but the unlock wont work. somone on the web said they were able to do the unl,ock but they downgraded the hboot version from 1.56 down to 1.55.
Just wondering is there a tool to downgrade the hboot version from 1.56 to 1.55?

You can downgrade if you are S-OFF only

I have tried firewater's method but it didn't work for me,my device is running a complete stock kitkat 4.4.2 rom,any help?
thank you.

How'd your do this? this is the first report I've seen of successfully getting s-off on 1.56. This gives me hope.
What method and how many attempts did you make? Mac or Windows?

I tried all kinds of methods best known to me but none worked while I was on kitkat version 4.06.651.4) using firewater.so this is exactly what I did,
I upgraded to software version 4.06.651.9 (kit kat) before firewater actually worked. So if you really want to achieve s-off using firewater, then you have to upgrade to the latest version number of kitkat.
1.Upgrade to the latest version of kitkat(4.06.651.9)
2.Unlock boot using htcdev.
3.Install custom recovery and superSU to get root access.
4.use firewater to achieve s-off.
Infact firewater worked the first time I tried after installing the latest software(4.06.651.9)
So I advice you to install the latest software and keep your eyes on the phone to grant super user access.
hope this helps.
Hi all, been a while!
I'm trying to s-off so i can install a 4.4 ROM (google play edition), however having some difficulties. Firstly i tried rumrunner but i'll need to create a liveCD on 32bit ubuntu to run it (doesn't work on 64bit and i can't find what 32bit libs are needed to run it)
So i found revone, however i'm received this error:
revone v0.2.1
revone failed (error code = 1)

hmm
You wanted help and suggestions, and if i understood correctly, your question, was about getting revone to work, or did i misunderstand... you can get it to work in many many many ways, but if you want a method known to work, nice easy and simple, then just use that ROM (on hboot 1.44 with firmware 1.xx dated pre June 2013), to get it to work.
Then you'll have S-Off, and are free to flash anything you like.

What i meant was why was the suggestion to flash a ROM rather than every other method out there just doing the specific task. I mean if there is no better solution given then i'll do this but it seems a bit silly

Well first of all, i don't know if you really need S-Off at this point, but that is a decision only you can make.
On the other hand whether my reply is silly or not, you asked a specific question: [ERROR] - HBOOT 1.44 - s-off using revone
so i suggested if
1- hboot 1.44 dated before June 2013
2- firmware 1.xx (from "fastboot getvar all")
to use the ROM i mentioned, because it's worked for over 30 people by now.
But you can always:
1- continue to try revone until it works or not
2- try http://rumrunner.us/ which also has a Windows version, since you can't seem to make linux to work
3- try http://firewater-soff.com/

Ok, well i installed this ROM, the ROM works but when i boot into recovery it says 'S-ON'. Are there any other steps to turning it off? i just flashed the ROM from TWRP.
I want to install stock/vanilla 4.4, having looked around i'll probably try something like 'bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed', its very difficult to find anything on these forums with so many ROMs being posted!
Thanks for the replies, i do appreciate it i'm just rather confused from what i've read. My end goal as mentioned is to install stock GPE the latest thats available

The ROM doesn't do the S-Off by itself, you have to do it
So if you now have that ROM i mentioned, just follow the revone instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582

So, for the past two days, I have been trying to S-Off my HTC One (M7), and it seems I have never been in luck. There was only my last hope with the Insertcoin gpe ROM, and it just opens, I click next in the setup, shuts down, restarts over and over. Basically bricked my phone, I re-installed my last ROM again. I have tried Revone, firewater, moonshine, and rumrunner. All of them didn't work for me. I'm currently running the AICP 4.4.2 ROM. My bootloader is unlocked, I'm rooted, and my hboot is 1.57.0000. I don't see what is the problem with my device. I am trying to get S-Off so I can convert my One into the gpe edition. If you could tell me step by step, thoroughly on how to get S-Off, or even install Insertcoin with S-Off, I will be very grateful. Thanks in advance. PS. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I'm quite new here.

You can use flash image gui app from play store for kernel flash
.
The best way is to use your originally 4.4.2 stock and then flash only bulletproof 14.2 for 4.4.2 roms

Sorry but, do I need to have Sense or GPE in order to install it? Last time I've tried installing that kernel on a custom ROM, it bricked my device. So, I'm guessing I will need Sense, but do I need to be fully stock or can I just install another custom ROM with Sense such as the ViperOne?

Hello,
I wanted to S-OFF my HTC One M7 and it looks like my last hope is use SunShine in the end.
Since I receive the following message when SunShine runs on my phone, I would like to receive some help to figure out what is the stock kernel I have to flash in order to run SunShine.
At the moment I use Elemental X kernel, as shown in the signature below, but I have not been able to find a kernel to meet the requirements. By the way, I have a rooted and unlocked phone, and I wouldn't like to come back to stock if possible.
Thanks

Hi!
Thanks a lot for your hint!
And what about doing as explained here instead? I mean where it says about "Step-by-step procedure before attempting to S-OFF (with the universal Rumrunner version for international variants)".
It doen't say anything about the hboot version. That should work I guess, without wiping anything by the way.

nope, you cant back flash your HBOOT at all unless you are already s-off, I see in your signature your on 1.57, sunshine is the only way to s-off your device, really the only way - (people still ask after saying this if there is another way), you also need as close to stock as possible to use sunshine.
I succeeded using Sunshine in the end, flashing a stock kernel (boot.img) extacted by a stock ROM.
