[ERROR] - HBOOT 1.44 - s-off using revone - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, been a while!
I'm trying to s-off so i can install a 4.4 ROM (google play edition), however having some difficulties. Firstly i tried rumrunner but i'll need to create a liveCD on 32bit ubuntu to run it (doesn't work on 64bit and i can't find what 32bit libs are needed to run it)
So i found revone, however i'm received this error:
revone v0.2.1
revone failed (error code = 1)

hmm
You wanted help and suggestions, and if i understood correctly, your question, was about getting revone to work, or did i misunderstand... you can get it to work in many many many ways, but if you want a method known to work, nice easy and simple, then just use that ROM (on hboot 1.44 with firmware 1.xx dated pre June 2013), to get it to work.
Then you'll have S-Off, and are free to flash anything you like.

What i meant was why was the suggestion to flash a ROM rather than every other method out there just doing the specific task. I mean if there is no better solution given then i'll do this but it seems a bit silly

Well first of all, i don't know if you really need S-Off at this point, but that is a decision only you can make.
On the other hand whether my reply is silly or not, you asked a specific question: [ERROR] - HBOOT 1.44 - s-off using revone
so i suggested if
1- hboot 1.44 dated before June 2013
2- firmware 1.xx (from "fastboot getvar all")
to use the ROM i mentioned, because it's worked for over 30 people by now.
But you can always:
1- continue to try revone until it works or not
2- try http://rumrunner.us/ which also has a Windows version, since you can't seem to make linux to work
3- try http://firewater-soff.com/

Ok, well i installed this ROM, the ROM works but when i boot into recovery it says 'S-ON'. Are there any other steps to turning it off? i just flashed the ROM from TWRP.
I want to install stock/vanilla 4.4, having looked around i'll probably try something like 'bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed', its very difficult to find anything on these forums with so many ROMs being posted!
Thanks for the replies, i do appreciate it i'm just rather confused from what i've read. My end goal as mentioned is to install stock GPE the latest thats available

The ROM doesn't do the S-Off by itself, you have to do it
So if you now have that ROM i mentioned, just follow the revone instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582

You Can update Hboot boot via a firmware update (which I recommend if you are still on the original 4.12 firmware, as there have been some touch driver updates that really helped the capacitive buttons, look here for a great guide and firmware packages: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726 ), but you don't Have to update Hboot to flash Viper 2.1, it will work fine either way

It would be a good idea to update your firmware/Hboot to the 2.24 (4.22) version, so it matches the rom and you get the touch fixes I talked about. It's a good idea, but you do not have to, it's up to you. Hboot will change to 1.54, but you will stay S-off, no worries. Read that thread I linked, and I recommend this firmware https://mega.co.nz/#!nZoVXKpD!Iki5KkvxxhL9jZgJkegv_iHLbp0eHQALxAz5Nc50_rc from that thread if that's what you want to do. If that's the route you go, first update the firmware/Hboot, then flash the rom, then any custom kernels if desired

Yes! It is fine, and your phone will work better with the new touch drivers. I am not sure what the CID of the Developer's edition is, you might want to check that. Will definitely flash if Super CID (fastboot oem writecid 11111111), worked for me.
Look, before you flash firmware, you better read that guide I linked you to at the very least, I mean it. This is pretty routine, non-scary stuff, but you are S-off, and that means something. Read the thread, make sure you understand what you're doing, and I'm here to help. But I'm not trying to or going to convince you to do anything, read and decide for yourself, ok? I'm telling you it will work, but you have to decide and be comfortable

You don't "need" to update Hboot at all, but it will update to 1.54 with the firmware update. In my opinion, you " want" to update the firmware to: get the new, much improved touch drivers, be on the same firmware as your rom (ViperOne 2.1), and get whatever other updates are in the new firmware

ViperOne will run just fine on the stock US Dev Ed firmware!
You do not NEED to upgrade the firmware, unless you want the updated touch screen drivers.

The H-Boot has nothing to do with the touch screen.
The touch screen drivers were updated in the 2.17 and 2.24 firmware release.
Many people feel that the touch screen is more responsive with the updated drivers/firmware.
You do not NEED to update the firmware to run a 4.2.2 ROM. It will run fine on the older firmware.
I ran ViperOne on the older firmware up until very recently. No problems.

Oksagi,
I told you yesterday, you don't Need to flash anything to run Viper, I thought that was clear, your Hboot is fine. If you Want to update your firmware, I gave you links to a very good guide, and to the firmware you should use, IF YOU WANT. Again, you are fine on your Hboot, go ahead and flash Viper, I think you will love it, I do. I think updating firmware may be too much for you at this point. Good luck sir....
Sorry For my newbie-ness but what advantages has S-OFF and what can i do with it ?

[Q] 4.3 Sprint RUU

Hi, I was wondering if there was going to be an RUU for 4.03.651.2 firmware. I tried to take the update with an outdated version of TWRP, and I would like to go back to stock and reroot. I have tried and failed to gain S-Off with Revone and moonshine. I am unsure of what to do. My phone is not recognized by ADB in recovery, so I cannot use the S-Off workaround to flash an old RUU. Any suggestions/responses are appreciated.
Thanks,

Hmm... I just assumed that there wouldn't be an RUU for 1.31. Do you know of any way to gain S-Off so that I can flash the 1.29 RUU?
RUU
This can be very frustrating, I know.
I used Moonshine to achieve S-OFF, yesterday. Reason was because I managed to delete almost everything, I still don't know exactly what happened. However, if I remember correctly, you need S-On in order to run a stock RUU. There are several threads that pretty much will walk you thru the steps needed to flash the RUU. I was on them yesterday.
Good luck.

You don't need S-Off or S-On to run the RUU, but the bootloader has to be locked (or relocked). Believe that I read that HTC was going to not release RUUs any more because they didn't want others to tear them apart, etc. But don't quote me on that one...
From my understanding, S-Off is required to flash an RUU for a firmware version that does not match the version you are currently on. Could you please refer me to one of these threads? I would appreciate it very much.

I've also heard the same however how can I gain S-Off without mounting the internal storage? Or ADB? I can't get either to work.

I believe that if you have a custom recovery installed, you can use the workaround by accessing the terminal from the recovery, type the command, and then lock the bootloader. I am not completely sure on that, though.
If your on 4.3 there is no RUU and no s-off exploit at this time. This is why it's always recommended to root/s-off before you update.

s-on s-off not gonna help you
you can download naked drivers for htc one http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachd...river_0.72.zip but first delate/uninstal all htc/syn drivers
and jus push any 4.3 rooted rom to your phone and install g-luck

Trouble with S-OFF

I've tried working with both Revolutionary and Moonshine, and I can't seem to get it done. I'm on hboot 1.44. Is there a good walkthrough for someone who isn't the best at command line. Thanks in advance.

I think your issue is equal to mine: maybe you flashed on your unlocked One an Android 4.3 Version. That seams to be the cause that not allow us to use Revone also with 1.44 . I think we need to flash a 4.2 before use revone. Is it correct to anyone that knows the solution?

[SOLVED] Achieve S-OFF with 4.3 GPe Rom

Not first time flasher, I installed a stock GPe 4.3 rom on my One and now I want to fully convert it. Right now, the device is:
- CID = TELUS001 (Telus in Canada)
- Bootloader: Unlocked
- HBoot: 1.44
- S-ON
My attempt to achieve S-OFF with Revone, in order to proceed to the first steps of the conversion, was unsuccessful because of my 4.3 rom. My question is about my next move. As I am unable to recover a non corrupted Telus RUU, I was wondering which option would best suit my needs:
1. I flash any 4.2 rom and then achieve S-OFF using Revone.
2. I get it back to stock using the Easy Stock Reset tool. Although I guess it won't work because of my CID but I probably miss something here.
3. Anything else.
I would like to have an advice/thought/coment on that.
Thanks

Since I receive the following message when SunShine runs on my phone, I would like to receive some help to figure out what is the stock kernel I have to flash in order to run SunShine.
At the moment I use Elemental X kernel, as shown in the signature below, but I have not been able to find a kernel to meet the requirements. By the way, I have a rooted and unlocked phone, and I wouldn't like to come back to stock if possible.
Thanks

1) do a nandroid backup in TWRP
2) install maximusHD, this one: http://llabtoofer.com/2014/12/02/htc-one-maximushd-46-0-0/
3) sunshine s-off
4) restore you nandroid backup
Hi!
Thanks a lot for your hint!
And what about doing as explained here instead? I mean where it says about "Step-by-step procedure before attempting to S-OFF (with the universal Rumrunner version for international variants)".
It doen't say anything about the hboot version. That should work I guess, without wiping anything by the way.

OK, thank you.
So, I could flash a ROM having such hboot and then try rumrunner. If yes, can you suggest me some rom to flash? There's lot of stuff here in the forum, I get confused to be honest.

nope, you cant back flash your HBOOT at all unless you are already s-off, I see in your signature your on 1.57, sunshine is the only way to s-off your device, really the only way - (people still ask after saying this if there is another way), you also need as close to stock as possible to use sunshine.
I succeeded using Sunshine in the end, flashing a stock kernel (boot.img) extacted by a stock ROM.
