I don't experience the issues that are posted in the other threads. My TF701 (WW) is super fast, no lag changing to portrait. It tends to get warm but not hot in the upper left corner. No open space between glass and rear panel. I have no complaints at the moment.
Agree with the poster above. This is by far the best iteration of the Transformer line - bar none. I can't put it down.

As someone who is at the moment owning the TF 300 (fine tablet but the screen...), would you recommend waiting till custom ROMs are out there or just sell the TF 300 and buy this beast? You!ve mentioned it gets warm even during normal use?
i have only had one weird problm where when I was charging it with the dock the tablet just restarted on me and would never get past boot. it would just restart over and over until i removed it from the dock. I wonder if I might have a back dock as when its docked i can still tilt just a little on its own. I may send the dock back and get another one.
This is my first transformer but over all I am very happy with it. Need to get some good games going on this. tegra 4 and my moga pro controller should make for a good system.
I cant wait till we get linux on this also.
Nice to see some working great yet whats sad is there are more people having problems then not. Asus did it again dropped the ball on this one. Its the silly things that allot of people dont like one speaker and a few more. Yet its the lag. I know ONE person here hits every thread yet we know who he really is talking as if haha its the OMG best tablet ever!
Its nice just way to many bugs and we all know ASUS costumer service is well not the best. Try OTHER tegra 4 tablets DONT settle on this. There are better ones out there now and better ones coming.
If you can try the Samsung new note with the Snap 800. Now that is butter smooth.
Owned the Samsung. Returned it because of Lag. Go to their threads... That's all they talk about. They also cheated on their benchmarks. That's the last device I'd be advertising, especially when they are charging an arm and a leg for it....
We're 3 iterations in and people are still complaining about the speaker? It's a high end device.. Use it the way it's meant to be used. With high end headphones. For the record, the one speaker is louder than last years TF700T.

Have the TF700T as well as the TF701T and I am satisfied.
A lot faster, and I had Cromi-X on the 700, more sound, looks like better battery performance to me, overall just better. Might be a next candidate for a device I leave locked.
Only pity that cables are not compatible.

I'm coming from the TF300 as well. Just go for it, you wont regret it.
Yes the tablet gets warm top left when your holding it, but it is just warm (not hot). At first you notice it because a plastic cover doesn't have that, but after a few days you won't notice it anymore.
It's just something you notice the first time you use the tablet...

My feedback on this tablet which I have had since last Friday. Coming from the TF700T I must say the lag is completely gone. TF700T is super responsive whatever task you throw at it. This is the way a tablet should work.
I can confirm there is a little rattling in the left middle part of the screen but is not a big issue. The current firmware is buggy and tends to reboot on a regular basis. Seems to happen a lot after upgrading to .47 firmware. There are also issues with the touch screen when playing THD games.
Overall, I am happy with the tablet and hopeful that the new firmware will address rebooting related issues.

well i sent mine back today. I may just wait to see the second batch. i was happy with it but i was not happy with the dock or how some of the games played. Maybe i will pick up a refurb 700

4.3 update...
I tried to update to 4.3 manually by putting the file from the asus website on a micro SD, I pressed the notification saying "update file found" and the tablet just restarted itself and now the notification won't show up again. It is still saying 4.2.2 in about tablet.
I have unlocked bootloader and root. does this have something to do with why I can't get the update?

You need to be stock to get updates from Asus. That is true for all devices.
The tablet is honestly powerful, the resolution is a little too high but it's manageable. Cromix is getting better and very smooth

Yeah, you won't get OTA but our can still update manually like you tried to.
I bet you didn't unzip the downloaded file once, did ya?
The zip inside the zip is what you have to put in internal root.

It's a really great device. Storage is it's only weakness. The16gb version should be your only option, though it's not enough either. But I love it. Feels like it's easily worth double the price.
I have only owned a capacitive tablet in the past with Android Eclair on it, that was complete balls and turned me completely off tablets.
The N7 is amazing, I can fit it in my pocket still, its powerful, the screen is crystal clear and responsive, amazing device that has restored my view of tablets in general.

I've had my 8gb for about 12 hours and absolutely love it, I had a 16gb Asus Transformer up until yesterday and this is so much better. I agree with the previous poster regarding form factor, the Nexus is so much more comfortable to hold for long periods of time.

Love it, easily the best tablet I have owned.
I was unsure of the 7in formfactor, but am now convinced.
I also know 7 people that have ordered them off the back of playing with mine, and several iPad3's up for sale as a result.
Nexus 7 was my first step into the Tablet world and i have to say coming from a Galaxy Note, i loved every bit of it. Its build quality is just awesome which makes it feel premium in the hand. It is packing some serious specs with a quad core CPU and 12 core oGPU and the software is very brilliantly optimised for the device. So everything has been great so far, however the only downside to the tablet is: lack of storage (not expandable) and the lack of a rear facing camera. Overall it is a great device and for the price point nothing even comes close to it. However dont overrate it becasue although it gives you the bang for the buck, all the hype is causing people to expect too much from it even with such a low pricepoint.

this forum only makes up 0.1% of the people with Nexus 7's.. don't let these threads stop you from buying it.. all devices will have their problems.. even Apple products have issues..
But enough about that.. its many great apps in the market that makes great for college usage.. we got great note taking apps like "Evernote" "Springpad" the size is perfect to fit in any bag
I love my 16 GB nexus 7..u said u will be mainly gaming on the tab my gripe is that many game publishers havent optimized their games for tegra 3..dark knight returns and nova 3 for example are extremely choppy in comparison to how they run on other platforms....its not really the hardware its the game devs not optimizing code...I mean what good is a 12 core GPU if its barely being utilized...I have a tfp also and its the same issue with choppiness in certain games that should absolutely not be present.

I just got mine today. Ordered it July 19 "2-day shipping" LOL. Anyway device arrived intact. Screen appears to be well stuck onto device. Lol
It is beautiful. Can't find a defect anywhere so far. The only thing that sucks is I have not been able to install Whatsapp! It says my device is not compatible with this version. Everything else flawless though.
Only had mine a few hours. No issues that I've noticed. Better than I thought it was going to be, a nice size to use, less bulky than iPad but much more usable than a smartphone. Much faster than the Asus TF101 and Jelly Bean is far better than Honeycomb.
I'm loving mine! Had it for a couple days now and it is fantastic to type on! It gets a little difficult in landscape but that's fine with me. The only annoyances as of now is where the nav bar is when you go landscape. I saw that on the Galaxy nexus in landscape the bar goes to the side with the device. On this tablet, it stays in the middle making it difficult to touch. This device isn't all that good in portrait landscape besides for watching stuff. It really made me fall in love with stock Android all over again. Shame my phone uses sense
Using my nexus as I type this. And I must say this thing is amazing. Blazing fast. Beautiful display. Very comfortable to hold in the hand and has a premium feel to it. I haven't tried any gaming yet and will check to inform you guys how that goes. The only thing I have noticed is while watching the transformer movie that was preloaded on the device, it skips and lags just a bit every now and then. Other than that I have no complaints so far. I will post some more thoughts after more use. Thanks for your advice guys.

When I watched Transformers, it was not preloaded - it was streamed from the Cloud. It did pause - occasionally - for the streaming to catch up.
None of your freebies come preloaded, although you can download them.
Not sure which is more of a waste - Transformers or the ads posing as magazines.
Gaming is fantastic...
I have to admit the build quality is second rate, but I really love this little piece of crap. Yeah, it has that weird cross-axis multitouch problem and the screen keeps wanting to jump out of the bezel (or at least peep over the edge). And I'm told if you turn down the brightness and read the mobi version of 'War and Peace' while standing on your head and humming theme song to Star Trek on the first Wednesday after a full moon with a pomegranate in your pants at some point you'll get some kind of screen flicker, but I haven't seen that yet.
I love the GPS on this thing. I especially love that fact that I could get a device with GPS and no cell radio (which invariably involves a wireless provider and either a contract or a ridiculously high price). I've used multiple Android phones over the last couple of years, and aside from an Evo 3D that worked fairly well, GPS on functionality was horrible to useless.
I'm still debating whether to RMA it for the multitouch problem, because I can see that being an issue with some apps (mostly games). But, considering the price, even if that never gets fixed, so long as it keeps working as well as it is now, I can live with the imperfections.
Same with me I love this little POS. Asus has a long history of making good products with lower build quality. My first laptop was an asus then got the eeepc then transformer tablet and how the nexus. The laptop broke and so did the eeepc, I sold the transformer after a few months so I don't know how well it would of held up but I still think all of them were great value for the price. Out of all of those the nexus 7 is the best in terms of build quality.

Back on topic, I guess I'm lucky as my device (third...) is perfect. Gotta admit tho' , that it is one sweet piece of junk.
Gps is great btw. I get fix in seconds inside my place, while desire s barely can get signal even laying just by the window.
I have the multitouch problem too, and honestly I think most people have it but don't realize it. I've already rma'd three times for other problems so I'm not going to even consider it. Unless news starts coming in about new ones being perfect with no occurrences of multitouch issues, then I'll probably be tempted. Right now I'm seeing reports of people exchanging it for the multitouch issues only to get a replacement with the same problem. No thanks. And I love this thing as well, everyone I show it to is amazed at what it can do (nfc Google wallet, face recognition, gps, Google now, flash, etc)

First tablet for me. Long term Linux user but I can do most things on this and so rarely boot my laptop now. Have a sneaky feeling that Swiftkey on my phone is a little better, but not by much.

I still haven't seen any issues with multitouch, or screen flickers, or anything else people have complained about. I guess you hear about all the bad things but never about people who have no problems with it.
I really love the tablet too. I just love how fast it is and the streamlined experience I have with Google Apps syncing my mail and reminders. 90% of the things I did on my laptop are not done on my Tablet which is browsing the web, videos, music, and small games.
Since I'm having issues with this one, I think I'll get a refund and try the tablet some other time since I can't deal with these issues right now.

Owned a TF101 and Galaxy Tab 2 7" and this is by far my far my favorite. The speed is top notch and the 7" screen size is also great. The 1280 resolution kicks the crap out of the 1080 that the Tab2 has. Pretty much the perfect device in my opinion.

I have currently the HTC desire (in a draw somewhere), galaxy s2-exynos4210 (for alarm clock/ gaming), galaxy s3-exynos4412 (main phone), archos 70it (7inch 1ghz single core tab that I got in 2010 and is in my wardrobe somewhere and haven't seen it in like 6months ) and Samsung galaxy tab 10.1(alarm clock/ pdf viewer).
I also know my s3's cpu is more powerful, the GPU is considerably more powerful, yet I prefer using this less powerful nexus 7. I couldn't think of a better phrase to describe how I feel about this tab, the op by saying "I love this piece of junk" has just got it bang on. Out of all my devices, the n7 is defiantly my favorite at the moment. Although, I have just put a leaked Jelly Been rom (LH7) on my s3 and it is smoother than the n7 but stock android just looks sooooooo! much better looking than touchwiz, so when the s3 gets a stableish CM10 (as in all the elements which make "project butter" work are working properly as it isn't that smooth at the moment and the memory leak is fixed) , my n7 my have some competition. But at the moment, the n7 is just fantastic.
I had the Multitouch issue and screen lifting. I RMAed it and still have those issues. The multitouch isn't causing me any problems for now so I decided to ignore it. I'm watching closely on the screen lift problem (stable, for now). I also decided to enjoy my N7 and accept the fact that Asus can't do better than this at the moment....

Lol, that is bad. My niece got a cheap Android tablet last Christmas. I think it was selling for about $150 at the time. It was slow, had a horrible resistive screen and it lasted about a week.
The quality of junk is steadily improving. I always try to keep 20-years-ago me in mind when I'm feeling cheated because the glass on my $250 high-powered hand-held computer (with 24-bit accelerated HD video, super-accurate GPS, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, wireless broadband internet, touch interface, loads of cheap or free apps and games; which holds every song I've ever owned plus HD movies) barely perceptibly pokes out on one side. 20-years-ago me would be envious as hell and would slap me for being such a spoiled baby.
I love this. Thind and its in my opinion better than the iPad.

Fair enough, but considering you have to not be touching the tablet in any way other than the screen, not have it charging, not have it on your lap, and not have headphones plugged in, not have it sitting on any conductive surface, and use a multitouch app or such to see the problem, I'm sure there are plenty of people who have it who don't notice. I have hundreds of hours of usage too and had no idea till I saw the thread and recreated the conditions.
People in the thread are asking those that don't have it to post a video so they can be sure it's not standard. One guy didn't have it with two fingers, but was able to recreate it with four. But as soon as I'm sure that new ones are defect free, I'll probably try to get it exchanged,.

Again, before you say that, please read the thread, it's not a problem most would see under regular use. Not saying you don't have it, but I don't want people to think it's a huge obvious problem when it really isn't (like I said, you have to be not touching the tablet in any way other than your fingers, etc. Mine is in a case and even holding it in the case makes it work fine, but there may be some case materials that could make it so the multitouch issues show up as if you weren't there touching the tablet)
Honestly I wish I hadn't read some of these threads., I wouldn't even know these problems existed : )

I honestly have to say I feel the same. I posted in another thread about "Project Butter" being a bunch of P.R. crap and I still feel it has a long way to go but this little thing really is a great device overall.

Hearing some negative stuff about reboots, inconsistent dock attachment and still stuttering, makes me think twice. This thing is damned expensive.
Keeping my tf700 and buying a new gpad or nexus 8 may be in the cards. Lol.
Per my other posts it is concerning that best buy has eradicated most of the infinity eee line from the stores. That and the fact that I feel a bit "rooked" by my purchase of the tf700 in that I thought I was getting a powerhouse device. Still love it though

just took some more bloat off my tf700. It is fine (if not using google play store and not playing high end games); decided to pull down my ebay listing and hold pat on the tf700. just such a unique device...dont see the advantage to spend 300-400 upgrading (after ebay sale)

Not forget you read specially here about the so called negative stuff because we are used to discover these things much earlier than "normal" users.Not forget also that the users that have no issues at all are at least a factor 10 more than the one that have one or more minor to severe issues.
In all the tablet is very good but go in the thread of the nexus 10 or latest samsung tablet and they have their own "negative" things too.
Tablet works flawless for me. Stable, stunning display and having come from a TF700 this is blazingly fast! No dock issues with fitment for me. The only complaint is that I wish Asus still made the more "premium" aluminum dock. The new docks just feel like a cheap toy by comparison to the tablet quality.
I have no problems with mine, too. Blazing fast. No hickups. Ok, tablet is a little loose in the dock, but mine doesn't disconnect... yet

Mine is wonderful so far. I haven't got the dock yet, but it's performing well with everything I throw at it. Chrome jitters a little, but it is the same on my girlfriend's nexus 10.
I'm happy I bought it. After the horrible tf201, I almost swore off another asus tablet.
This speed demon has my girlfriend jealous. I can't stop playing with it. Having had the TF700T this seems like a Maserati compared to the old Ford Escort..

every thing has a bad side to it. my complaint right now is it gets hot fast. the performance is okay, definitely below my expectation. But thats why im waiting for either a custom asus rom or aosp. all of which will perform better than the stock rom we have right now
Im sure sdbags will do wonders with this tablet as he did the tf700. But I do have stuttering and it rebooted on me once. I pressed the home button and it stuck being high lighted, pressed the power button once and it rebooted.

The TF701T is running android JB 4.2.2. These sound like early bugs that Asus is still working out. This happens with most releases from them. They are pretty good at issuing updates to fix them early on in the life cycle. Hopefully they are also working on KK4.4 as it absolutely flies on my nexus 5 especially as Google are dropping dalvik just in time (JIT) compilation and have introduced Android RunTime (ART)
My initial TF701 had a problem with the dock connection - tilting the screen even e few millimeters towards me resulted in the device turning off. I returned it and waited until it was clear that this was an incidental rather than structural problem. I got a new one about a week ago and I love it! No problems to date.
I have noticed some strange graphic artifacts. Once upon boot, I had a black screen with white lines until I made it sleep and woke it again. Today I bought GTA vice city, and I see strange graphics that correspond to gameplay. Has anyone else seen this? I'm guessing it's software, which doesn't bother me too much, but after the tf201, I'm leery about missing my return window or unlocking early.

Just got mine. I had that same problem with black and white screen the first time I attached to dock and it updated itself. That was just a few hours ago. Otherwise all seems good. I do notice the screen does not seem as bright as my TF101 and the colors do not seem as true.
I am looking forward to rooting and getting upgrade to KitKat

Use the Splendid App that the device supplies to adjust your color palette. I have mine on - 6 (cool). Seems brighter and more true on that setting. At least for me.

Hello everyone. I'm a longtime follower of, and lurker on XDA. I always have appreciated the amazing work that originates here, and the time and effort that so many put forward to making this the definitive hub for development for tablets, smartphones, etc. That being the case, I felt that I could do no better than to trust the opinions I might receive with my following question.
I've been using my 32G TF101 w/ dock since they were new, and while I have the tablet rooted and tweaked (thanks again xda!), I feel like the device is nearing the end of it's usefulness to me. I'm gotten used to my Samsung GS4 for quick and light use, but when I switch back to my old trusty TF101 for a little more screen real-estate the tablet is almost painful to use. I know this disparity will only increase as my smartphones continue to get newer/smarter, and my tablet continues to become more woefully outdated.
I'd love to update so that the gap might not be as noticeable. Considering that I've managed to be content sticking with my TF101 for this long, I'm really on the fence with this decision. I don't know whether I should consider paying the none-too-inexpensive cost of bringing myself up to date with the 64G flavor of the TF701, or save a few hundred dollars and just be happy with the performance boost that a year 1/2 old TF700 would offer over my current tablet, despite the fact that the age of it might put me back in the same boat I'm already in much quicker.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :good:
If your you're willing to unlock and use custom rom then the 700 is going to be a capable device as long as you don't play HD games on it as some if not most HD games don't play as smooth on it. Stock form it's a pain to use and suffers from I/O issues so it tends to lag and stutter when you're downloading or transferring data. Custom rom helps but the I/O is still present but is definitely better than stock. The 701 is the best Asus 10 inch tablet out right now and it's great stock. So if it were me I'd skip 700 completely and jump to 701. There are other great tablets out there as well like the Samsung note 10.1 but no kb dock. The best performer IMO is the hp slate book X2 but you're stuck with 16gb and lower resolution and warmer screen. But its the cheapest at $450 with a kb. Seeing that you're considering a 64gb model you're not going to be happy with that. So I think 701 is your better choice. Just read up on the 700 forum so you know what to expect if you decide to go for that device instead. I've had the 201 and the 701 each for about a year.

Try one out in a shop when possible and be amazed how quick and lagfree it is.
Screen of the TF700 is already very good and the TF701 screen is an improvement but not a big one. Higher resolution you only can see with apropriate content.
Tf701 is a big step forward in speed and when Asus manages to solve the dock connection problems there is no real competition, specially for this money!!

i replaced my TF300T (Tegra3, 1Gig) against the TF701 and this is a huge step forward, just talking about the overall performance with ASUS ROM´s. I mean the TF300T was okay, but really laggy and had a lot times to think (stucks for 1 or 3 seconds). The TF701 is as good as instant to use (browse in desktop mode and stuff like that).
Yep Display also is much better, Keydock feels not so nice but i write much faster on this (better anyhow, i dont know why).
I would go to TF701 if you can sell TF700 for a good price, or check a head to head in any store or try one and if you dont want to hold the new one which i did not think, send it back
So from my side ASUS was 1st with Transformer Series, and i like those a lot. I used a TF101 and TF300 and 700 (but still owned the TF300T) but since the TF701 the Transformers on android are usable without any kind of "problems" or waiting or stucking or what ever, thats really amazing.
So if you want to see how fast it is, go to youtube and search for slatebook x2 vs nexus 10, and the nexus10 is a really really fast device if you will have the look against Tegra3 devices. Also ASUS spend faster memory in the TF701 than in series before, it runs much much better.

If it werent for you i would've thrown the 700 against the wall a long time ago lol. So are you dumping the 700 or are gonna continue to develop for it? Glad you ended up getting the 701 after all though.

I still have my TF700 (wife is using it now) for a backup and because it is a good machine with it flaws (slow internal memory).
I did downgrade it to Cromi 3.4.7. where the draining of the dock is absent.

I understand why you suggested this, because the HP Slatebook x2 is a Tegra 4 device like the TF701T, but people who have had both the Slatebook x2 and the TF701T have said that the Slatebook outperforms the TF701T, probably because of the Slatebook's lower resolution.

It's not just games. I have the slate book and it's butter smooth no Stuttering 99% of the time even with simple tasks like portrait to landscape transition. Once you have this kind of experience it's hard to appreciate other devices. At least in my case. I can honestly say this is as close to it ipad user experience as I'm gonna get on an android. My roommate with ipad is surprised as well.

Still strange.
I have my third unit now (due to the dock connection problem) but none of them suffered from stuttering or lagging.
In the local Media Markt they had the slatebook X2 as a demo last weekend and I gave it a try but I see no real difference in performing normal tasks and on games they had installed compared to the Tf701.
But the better screen of the TF701 was clearly visible.
Thanks to everyone that responded. I seriously appreciate all the time and opinions everyone shared and the information put forth.I don't play many games on my tablet (guess I should have mentioned that), as I've got a nice desktop at home for that, but it still sounds like the TF701 should be my primary choice.
Now all I have to do is wait for the 64G flavor become available, and hope it does so before ASUS decides to muddy the waters of my decision by releasing an announcement about a TF800 or something along those lines. :laugh:
I have had a TF700 for exactly 1 year and 2 months, but two weeks ago the motherboard got fried due to my stupidity and I decided I needed a new tablet. The 700 CROMIX served me well and it had done everything I wanted it to with a few frustration.
I looked at the Samsungs, Kindles, Google Nexus 10, and the TF701. After a week of looking at all these I decided that
- Samsung was too expensive. Nice machines, but I was just not willing to pay the difference
- Kindles are also nice but a little small for me and I felt like I would always be fighting the Amazon controls they put on the device. HW wise it was the lightest machine with the best screen.
- Google Nexus 10 seemed a little too similar to the 701 and it had a little lesser specs (CPU and no MicroSD). Maybe I would wait for the NEW version, but it did not look like it is coming anytime soon (hopefully summer) and my guess is that it will be in the $500+ range
- So since the 701 has a better screen, better CPU, and very attractive price ($359 at amazon), I decided to go with it
Got the tablet and really did not wait: Upgraded to 4.3, Unlocked the bootloader, and installed CROMiX 6.0.1a on it. 20 minutes and I was good to go. I was really surprised how much faster than my 700 it is. I knew that the 1.9MHZ is better than the 700's 1.6 but I had the 700 overclocked and with the increased resolution, I expected they would be close. But the performance difference is really noticeable. I cannot comment on CROMiX vs the Stock in terms of how much the performance improvement is the optimized ROM because I did not really run the stock long enough. But this thing just flies. Boat browser with flash works great. My 16GB MicroSD worked great, the restore from Titanium worked great. My Nova settings were there and worked without trouble. Netflix does not stutter at all or Google movies or Mx Player. The battery was horrible after my first charge (lasted less than 8 hours) but also I was messing with it the whole time. After that, it looks like it goes about 2.5-3 hours per 1% in sleep and I would say it is a bit better than my 700 while on. The ROM has a "reading mode" that seems to slow down battery consumption while reading my Kindle app, but I am not sure how much better it is.
Just wanted to share my experiences with the TF701. Not saying it is the best machine out there, but for the price, I am very happy and cannot imagine the added cost for the other models would buy me that much. All the features of the 700 with the added performance and better screen. Very happy.

My last tablet was the TF101 so I cant complain. My reasoning was the same as jhermit. Its the 701 just happens to be the one. With its high resolution, reflections, and so on. A good buy. The Samsung was the white one everywhere. Otherwise I would have gotten it. The white color really through me off of buying it. Can't figure that one out.
The TF701T keeps dropping in price, it may be the one to get.

I also have upgraded and have a few thoughts to add.
1. The docking station is all plastic, where the tf700t was metal. The plastic seems cheaper and typing and using the touchpad sounds plasticy, but the keyboard does type a bit easier.
2. The USB port on the base station is very very tight. I feel like I'm going to break it when I'm inserting and removing plugs.
3. The lack of vibration in the tablet is a bit of a let-down. I would have preferred to have the option.
4. The Micro USB port on the tablet is very tight and hard to get a card back out. It might be specific to my unit, but it's still an issue for me.
5. There are better brightness and performance options on the tf700t, but that may be part of the older OS as well.
6. The tablet dock hings has a lot more play/wobble in it. I read elsewhere that this was a design reason but it's floppy when I'm carrying the tablet around with the screen open.
7. Chrome was brutally bad on the tf700t; laggy, slow to load things, etc on both stock and custom ROMs. It appears that the extra horsepower in the tf701t has taken care of that problem.
So far so good on the custom ROM with xposed framework settings. I've restored all settings using Titanium Backup and am happy with it so far.
I got the TF701 a couple days ago (no keyboard) and it's great, I see no down side at all yet and I still have the TF700 running better than it ever has with Crombi-kk. [emoji41]

Never used a camera on a tablet, ever, so I couldn't tell you but everything else is better.
I don't use the camera either. I'm sure a very high percentage of buyers don't either. Not a selling point for me.

I don't use the camera on the tablet that much too but for a supposed upgrade of a particular model, one wouldn't expect specs to scale back right? At least stay as is if not increase spec.

I work in tourism and I see more of them every month! And all of them look utterly, totally stupid if you ask me.
The only thing worse are telescopic extensions handles for the iPhone with some kind of trigger build into it's handle to take pictures and videos. Saw about a dozen of those **** in Las Vegas the other night. And for some reason I'm totally convinced that 99.9% of those pictures land in the recycling bin.... Or they should....

Unfortunately not - they have different connectors.
No, connection differs, keyboard as well as charger and datacables differ.

Actually that kind of makes sense as the 701 has USB3.0 on the KBD Dock.
Currently on a TF201
I'm currently on a TF201 Transformer Prime that I've had for about two years now. I't currently running Crombi-KK quite nicely but...I'm looking for something else. I've pretty much narrowed things down to either a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 or the TF 701. There aren't a lot of reviews out there on the Tegra 4 based devices while of course the Enyos 5420 in the Galaxy tab is unique to Samsung. Have any of you had the opportunity to try both devices? Has anyone had an opportunity to use both a Tegra 4 (like the TF701) and a Snapdragon 800 based device. what little I'm finding seems to say that performance wise it would be 1. snapdragon 800, 2. Enyos 5420 and 3. tegra 4 ....but also that the differences aren't that great???
Right now I'm seeing the TF701 on Amazon for $354 and the Samsung for $399 so the prices are not that far off. On the other hand I always loved the keyboard dock on my Prime and with the TF701 I could have that again...for $130 on Amazon taking the total cost to $484. Of course with the Samsung I'd probably end up with some sort of Bluetooth keyboard, so in the end, when the accessories I would want are factored in, they cost about the same. (EDIT: I see that the Samsung is only 16 GB storage while the Asus is 32 - advantage Asus except that the Samsung has a micro SD slot and I've got a couple of 64 GB Sandisk Ultras kicking around so that probably isn't critical)
On the pro side the Asus is known unlockable (correct me if I'm wrong) where the Samsung probably isn't??? With my Prime, I stuck with it locked until the warranty ran out then unlocked it and put Hairy Bean on it and more recently Crombi-KK. So having those options available for the future is also a plus.
On the down side, as much as I have loved my Prime, its always had some annoyances. My WiFi was never as bad as others complain of but its never been great either. Sitting in my living room with my router almost directly under me on the floor below, my Motorola phone and my wife's HP laptop get right around the full 30 Mbps we have incoming from our ISP. My prime gets 8 - 10 Mbps which should be adequate most of the time except...the lag loading web pages. Hariy Bean and now Crombi-KK seem to improve things, but my phone (Morotrola Droid Maxx on Android 4.4) is still way smoother. Of course the GPS never really worked very well - which would be a big problem for me on a phone but not such a big deal on the tablet. Has Asus managed to correct those things on the TF701? While the Tegra 4 sounds good, I wouldn't want to have a tablet where they just stuck a faster CPU in the same old device.
Guess what I'm really looking for is a new Transformer Prime that's both faster and corrects all the annoyances I've had with the TF201. Does the TF 701 accomplish that? Given that the Samsung is about the same price when I include the accessories I want, does that change your opinion?

Guess what I'm really looking for is a new Transformer Prime that's both faster and corrects all the annoyances I've had with the TF201. Does the TF 701 accomplish that? Given that the Samsung is about the same price when I include the accessories I want, does that change your opinion?

Just go ahead and choose the TF701! I did not have older asus tablets, but from the comments I have read since this forum was launched, all the issues that older Asus tablets had were solved. However, I would advise you to make sure that the keyboard you are going to buy is built recently ( ??/2014). Some people are experiencing disconnections between the dock and the tablet. For me I have a 09/2013 build but fortunately everything works as it should
