[Q] Stable - LG Optimus 4X HD

Which rom n kernel do u guys prefer.. Which is the stable one out here
Thanks for helping ^_^

stock is stable

I personally haven't seen any unstable kernel in here. And even if one would be, it would be most likely because of the user himself
Now, my reason for posting: Best kernel/ROM/MOD/whatever threads are not allowed on xda ---> thread closed

thats version 27 there has bound to have been more stable ones since then
this thread is very confusing and misleading...
i think stability is relative...and if a nightly is actually in *general* stable, the CM team will categorize it as stable.u don't need to take the pain
u can mention the name of the nightly that you find stable in the discussion thread on the general sub-forum.
if most of us open a thread for a nightly that we find stable in the dev forum, we'll have a list o' threads longer than we can count. lolzz
This discussion belongs in one of the existing CM7 threads.

[Q] ics based rom or jb?

Hi guys its 00:16 am and im tired so ill ask this and tomorrow ill read the answers.. so..
I really like playing games on my device.. browsing and got general smooth
At the momement im running the paranoidandroid cm10 with kowalski kernel (new bl) but isnt very smooth. Stable but not smooth.
So the ask is..
What u suggest? What rom? what kernel? I dont care if is ics, jb.. or froyo ( trolol ) i just want to know the most performanting rom and kernel ( or maybe other things i dont know im not an expert ) atm for optimus 2x. Oh the kernel to be performanting i think he should permitts oc like 1.2 or 1.3 or 1.4. Okay so dont whine saying things like "the oc will burn your battery!" Well i have the mugen battery so i dont care.
Thats all.

Old bootloader CM10 and pidozz kernel (OC 1.2Ghz is enaugh).
And c'mon. You have to try it yourself. Threads like yours are forbidden here.
There I requested moderator to close this thread.
Next noob, who breaks rules because he/she didn't read them but accepted...

Yup, I agree with my fellow-countryman :highfive:
Everyone has a different expectations, so one ROM can be good for one guy and crap for another.
Check the dev section to find your favorite.

downgrade from CM10.1 nightly to cm9 or 7?

Is there an "easy" or tried and true method to downgrading? CM10.1 is too laggy for my phone. Is 9 any faster or more stable? I was going to downgrade to 7 because I know it works and I don't have any experience with 9.
Thanks in advance.

I don't want to come off as rude, but this belongs among Q&A threads, not Development. Having said that, 10.1 is a work in progress and yes 9 would be more stable. I recommend going back to stock Gingerbread and flashing up from there. There is a stickied thread at the top of this Dev forum with methods to go back to stock Gingerbread (I recommend KK4), or check my signature for links. Happy flashing!
CM10 is stable too, I had it on my phone for about a month with no single issue. Same file system, just flash and ready to go.
In my opinion, no need to downgrade to GB or ICS. I've tried many custom ROMs and JB based give best performance and smoothest UI.
Thread moved to Q and A as this is not a discussion that offers or is development.
Please post in accordance with XDA posting rules.
Thanks for the replies. I posted in the dev section by accident. Thanks for moving my post to the appropriate section. After reading through the threads about GB, ICS and JB I think I'll just stick with CM10.1 and optimize what I have.
Thanks again.

Try other JB ROMs too. There are many great and stable out there. I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for in less than a week. :victory:

What are the newest most stable rom releases?

Hi
I must say I am a bit disconnected from the Android world since I get to university and I must ask how all have evolved. I'm looking for the newest most stable custom roms at the moment of this post. I think it would be a good idea to maintain a post like this to keep track of what roms have reached a stable, proven state without having to dig too much.
Cheers!

Well there's the RC4 build (release candidate 4) of cyanogen mod 10.1 that's quite good. Its based on android 4.2.2.
Take note that you should ask questions in the questions section and ROM discussions are generally frowned upon so do venture into the development section to learn more about them.

OOPS!! I forgot the Q&A section totally. I would like to move this post or delete it but I don't see how I should do it. The Edit/delete button just drives me to the edit section and I don't see any way of deleting the post.
No worries, a mod will lock or move this thread eventually

I recommend roms with Mackay kernel, they are often stable and durable in battery but less powerful than Devil kernel. By the way, no one has moved or deleted this post yet =))

Better Custom Rom

Hello guys
I have a GT-I8190 phone and want to make a root and install a custom rom...
I searched about root but the information is a bit confused or have links down. Can i install twrp (https://twrp.me/site/update/2015/06/22/twrp-2.8.7.0-released.html) and then install super su (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053)?
Later i want to install the custom rom, i thought about - KitKat 4.4.4 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20151017 or Lollipop 5.1.1 (CyanogenMod 12.1) 20151013 stable. Which one you think it's the best? The smoother and best battery life?
Thank you for your answers
KK 4.4.4 is the more stable working variant.

ok, i will install that first
Is lollipop (cm12.1, omni, slimLP )better than kitkat to keep on our s3 mini as we can experience ART and cool animations.
I already installed the 4.4.4 and looks really good!
I'm gonna try it to see how it goes...and then maybe try lollipop
I tried to install again the CM 11 and now got the error "encryption unsuccessful"
Can anyone tell me a workaround for this device?
Many thanks
Cm 11 drain battery as hell.
About your problem check your partitions, system, data, cache, must be on ext4
Please guys stop open threads, asking for the best ROM. As @kennethpenn well said, "Looking for the best ROM? The fastest ROM? Head over to the development section and try a few for yourself. We do not allow threads asking about the best/fastest ROM at XDA. Please do not create threads comparing ROMs." Original from here & please read the XDA rules first. Thanks

We are a bit lenient on Best Rom threads for quite some time now and so far no big issues irised from it.
As long things are kept civil and free from fanboyism etc we will allow it.
We WILL close them when we whe notice abuse though.
Cheers!
