[Q] Scrobbling for default music player - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, im user of last.fm and I want to scrobble music from built-in music player, in this case it is Walkman, I tried various scrobbling programs, even the official Last.fm app, but it isnĀ“t working.
Is there some way or app to scrobble music from Walkman on Xperia Z1 ?
All help is appreciated, thank you

I had a look at the incompatible scrobbling app and fixed up my own:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=be.ambroosvaes.xperiascrobbler.Z1Compat
Should be available a few hours after posting!

Oh, thank you SO SO much ! app works great

I'm a big Last.fm-lover myself (excellent recommendations and event planning), and I really needed this I've already got quite a lot of installs all of a sudden the last few days so it seems I'm not the only one!

[Q] : Any Roms with a modified music player?

Hey Guys,
I just entered the world of Flashing Roms and is completely taken aback by all the amazing ROMS available here.
The one thing I hate so much in my TP2 is the default music player. The way the library is managed is just awful. Especially due to the lack of scrolling by alphabet feature.
I know there are other music players out there that does a better job. But I was just wondering whether there are any stable roms out here which has tweaked the default manila music player?
Please dont bash me if this has already been discussed. I did a lot of search in the ROM Development thread and couldnt find anything relevant.
Thanks in advance
Hi, I don't know if it's any ROM with a modified HTC player out here, but I think the easiest way is to just install a player you like, and use that.
I think HTC player is nothing more than just a slightly modified user interface of the windows mobile player. It's the WinMo player that sucks unfortunately. I always experience the device running slow with the music player and would love to use a better player.
I think installing third party player is the best option.

Nitrogen is a really good lightweight music player, with some amazing skins as well. But I don't want a lightweight one. Man.. I wish there was a music player for WM with all the functions music players should have, like: Playcount, search, nice organised libraries (not just searching your entire storage card...), nice playlist setup etc. I'm gonna try out MortPlayer soon, just after I get these ROMs uploaded

+1 for Conduits Pocket Player.
I'm using the Sense interface when it comes to music, you just need to organize your favorite sings into playlists Makes the player a far more usable imo.

I setup MortPlayer last night, it's pretty awesome as well Just have to get a new theme. iGloss and Blob (or something like that) are both really brilliant.
Music App for Windows Mobile
S2P is a good music app with alphabetized song, album, and artist listings. It has a nice layout with full screen album art. Really easy to use.

I search a bit and I found 'Folder Player' on the store
Haven't tried it but good reviews and seems to do what you need
Hope I helped you.
I also need folders (I hate ID3 libraries) and I'm using Poweramp Music Player. It's overall a very good music player!
"Folder Player" downloaded and works nice. I need to fiddle arount a bit to see if i like it as my default
Thanks

[Q] Music is not gapless

Hello fellow xda-ers.
Got my Xperia Z and loving everything about it except for 1 thing.
I got an iMac and ofcourse all of my music is in iTunes. Now the issue I have..
Alot of my electronic music albums (trance) are gapless on my iPhone, apple tv and iMac. But when listen to them on the Xperia Z, there is a half second gap between songs, which is very annoying for mixed-trance cd's (for example Above & Beyond)
I've looked in the settings of the walkman app, but couldn't find a setting.
Does anyone else have this problem? And should I try another music app? I'm using the stock walkman app from Sony.
Update:
I just tried Poweramp and Winamp. All of my gapless albums are gapless! Shame, cause I like the clean interface of the Sony Walkman app.

[Q] Scrobbling with stock Sony Music Player

Hello XDA,
I've tried all scrobbling applications apart from Last.fm official, because it's simply too bloated.
So the question is, who has gotten scrobbling working with Sony Music Player? If so how?
Please do not suggest alternative players - because that obviously works. Thank you!

[Q] Is there a way to control music player from the watch ?

Hi all,
I have not been able to find any way to control the Google Music or any other application from the watch. I was expecting not being able only to launch the music application from it, but also to control the volume or to switch the song.
I have found in Google Play Store applications like this (trial and then allow you to purchase the license):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.barkside.music
If there is no native way to do this, i really cannot understand as i see this one of the most logical applications to use from the watch.
Cheers.
You can play, pause, skip forward and back tracks with the Google Play Music app and Android Wear directly.
When playing music it should automatically display on the watch.
If not, check and make sure you haven't muted the app.
Music Boss works for most players.

I haven't muted the application. The strange thing is that just in the moment i hit the play button from the phone (Sony Xperia Z3 with Android KitKat 4.4.4) the notification for the music appears, but hides immediately. Maybe its an issue from my phone.
Thank you very much for the quick answer .

Thank you, i will try to continue searching the reason why the Google Music default notification disappears immediately, but if not, i may try Music Boss.

I'm trying to determine the benefit of Music Boss. I have used it with the 3 main audio apps I tend to use, all of which notify to my watch (TuneIn Pro, Sirius, and Google Play Music). They are set up in Music Boss as well. So when any of them are playing, I have two different cards - one for the app itself and one for Music Boss. I can't seem to see how Music Boss gives offers anything beyond the separate apps, other than a common interface. Can anyone with more experience using this app tell me what i'm missing? Thanks!
same here, I found that android wear supports quite a few music apps out-of-the-box.
like vanilla music - they havent released a wear-related update afaik, but when I play music with the app it shows up as a card on my phone with play-pause and I can swipe into a next-previous-vol up-vol down screen
Sony Walkman, Google Music and Spotify works on my watch. No need for Music Boss or anything. Phone is Z2.

I finally found the problem. Sony Xperia has a free application called SmartKey:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.extras.liveware.extension.smartkey
With this application it is possible to assign extra functions to the button to answer calls in the headphones.
Anyway, this application was interfering with the SmartWatch option to show the controls in the watch graphic interface. Removing it or disabling it solves the problem.
Thank you very much for the help .
