[Q] Sprint HTC One - Complete Failure to Unlock/Flash New Rom - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I've searched the Forum but I'm so over-my-head that I'm not really finding my exact issue and I'm kinda trying things willie nillie which I know is going to leave me with a bricked phone.
I tried following the rooting guide at http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-root/how-to-root-htc-one-windowsmaclinux/ and booted into my Sprint Rom successfully with the SU installed. Then I added the Android Revolution rom and tried to flash it. Since that point I've had boot loop issues.
Android Revolution will boot loop to the bootloader and not even attempt to get into the OS. When I tried installing Viper Rom, I could get to the unlock screen, but when I'd unlock, the screen would display a white page with "htc" on it, then eventually reboot. I then tried to flash the stock Sprint Rom. It will load to the lock screen, but not unlock, and will reboot eventually. Finally, I tried following the instructions here from a similar situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411137. When I go through the first tutorial the [SOLVED] post refers to, I get the error that warning: seek lseek64 failed when I try the second step. I also can't get RUU to work because when I turn my phone off and plug it in, it automatically turns on to the bootloader.
Presently the bootloader reads:
tampered
relocked
security warning
m7_wls pvt ship s-on rh
hboot 1.55.0000
opendsp-v31.120.274.0517
os-1.29.651.10(weird character)
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Sep 18 2013 15:46:04.0
Fastboot and ADB are working for me.
Please, any advice would be appreciated

It looks to me like your not unlocked anymore. Your Bootloader should say Unlocked, not Relocked. I would go through that process again before you do anything else.
EDIT: I found this, and it is great. Very user friendly, and will also help you achieve S-Off. Just follow the steps.

did the following:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Chose "Yes" to unlock bootloader
Allowed phone to reboot
--Attempts to boot into the rom, but is non-responsive
--Will reboot periodically if left alone
Now in hboot it says *** unlocked ***, does not have the security warning, but still, I can't seem to get the rom to ever boot properly. Also I still can't RUU because the phone won't shut down (and because I'm unlocked again).
Thank you for your help - any other ideas?

I read this thread but the download link says "removed by mods." And the last post in the thread tells us that the toolkit is not allowed on this forum.

If it were me I would go to Wipe in Recovery, and wipe everything EXCEPT internal storage, wipe system most of all. Then try to flash the ROM. Some times dirty flashing can cause lots of issues.

I've done this multiple times and I make sure to wipe every time before attempting to flash a rom.
Anything else?

I think first you need to get S-Off, then go from there. Did you get the link I PM'd you?

I don't think I can use this because I can't boot into a rom on my phone as is. I appreciate your help in providing me that but I'm just not seeing what my next step would be. Hoping we can figure this out

Ok, so after some pretty extensive research here is what I have found. First you are on a newer HBOOT version than I am (not sure how this happened was pretty sure I updated, but who knows), so the only way for you to achieve S-Off is using rumrunner. You can find that info at the link below. Do that first, then after that you should be able to complete the rest of the steps in the [SOLVED] forum you found earlier. Fingers crossed this works for you.

Maybe check out this forum too. Looks like this guy had the exact same problem as you.

Maybe I'm misreading it, but rumrunner requires you to be able to boot into a rom.
Went through the steps in the guide posted as a solution to your second link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646) and there's no change in behavior, though my information at the top of hboot now reads as follows:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.55.0000
RADIO-1.00.20.0913_3
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-3.04.651.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Sep 18 203, 15:46:04.0

Scratch previous post about USB connection - it's just acting weirder than before but still allows sideload.

PM me your google username, and I will chat with you on Hangouts. Maybe we can figure it out that way.

I was speaking with a friend and he thinks that this may have started because I flashed a GSM rom accidentally instead of a Sprint-designed-rom. Also he said my hboot might be the wrong version to go through the fix that MrFixIt and others have posted where you use fastboot to go through the oem recovery to sideload a rom.
Any ideas would be welcome at this point.

I'm now running Slim Bean rom w/ GPS and radios working and I'm so happy. THANK YOU BIG DADDY AND THIS GUY FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!

[Q] Help! Problems to unroot M7_UL!

Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!
PS: hit the thanks button if someone has helped you

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the Rom you gave me the link for but I dunno how to flash it due to I lost access to the teamwin recovery mode and when I click recovery onto the bootloader it goes to a black screen with a caution simbol in red and I have to reboot it.
I have tried with the goomanager to flash that rom but it doesnt let me. Any advice in this regard? I can tell goomanager to find an open recovery script (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img), should i do this? Or Im gonna end up with a bricked phone?
Thanks!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

you should set it to LOCKED not RELOCKED using revone or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
keep S-Off !!
anyway, don't why anybody would want to be on stock ROM

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

You should have LOCKED it before running the RUU, because that's what made you loose root.
So before proceeding, can you give me an update of your status:
bootloader: locked/relocked/unlocked?
tampered?
ROM?

[Q] Problem unrooting to stock rom! adb problem!

Hello, I had HTC One rooted with Android Revolution. I went to unrooting my phone but made mistake of wiping it out all without instructions & all the stock roms i have tried didnt got installed coz of signature failure. Basically, adb don't work on fastboot/bootloader.
adb works only on android or in recovery.
However, if your bootloader now is re-locked, you have only to get from htc dev another unlockcode.bin and flash it.
After you can mod your phone
Cant flash it!

Thanks.
Then post your fastboot getvar all minus imei/sn.

[Q] HTC one semi bricked (M7)

Hi guys basically i messed up, I tried installing a ruu.zip rom via TWRP which got stuck.
I then hard reset the phone and now there is no OS.
I can boot into the bootloader and TWRP recovery (2.5.0.0)
I have tried to flash several roms via sideloading and OTG but they keep failing.
The phone was rooted and had a unlocked bootloader and was running 4.1.2 android stock.
As you can tell i'm quite the noob. any help would be appreciated.
Forgive me if im in the wrong thread etc

no that's not what they meant, but it will do, that's not all the info though, does it list your CID in that list, usually HTC__XXX ?

I know he's using the wrong TWRP.
but......... im thinking this is his RUU (based on his current rom version and his baseband version)
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/
But to be sure I need his cid at least.
doesn't seem to know what he's doing with custom rom's, so this will put him back to stock, at least he'll have a working phone. :good:
EDIT: correction, that's not his RUU.

that is an M7_U ruu, and the OP is M7_UL... but right now RUU is irrelevant / a premature step
i can assume the OP is angry, frustrated, and panicking, so first priority would be to get his phone up and running, just to alleviate some of the tension... so let him flash a proper recovery for 4.4+ ROMs, then the installation will go fine, and then he's relaxed enough not to hit his phone with a hammer

It will install stock with root if you install an OTA you will have to reroot afterwards.
Obviously if you select no to stock recovery you'll stay with TWRP but OTA installs will fail.
One last thing if you ever thought about going s-off do it before you use any OTA updates.
With hboot 1.56 and stock Rom you can s-off with rumrunner for free. If you update to hboot 1.57 the only method is Sunshine and it costs $25 :good:

About the stock recovery, it's normal for it to go to a black screen. After a while it should display an image of a phone with red exclimation. That's normal too.
At this point hold volume up and press the power button to see the recovery menu. Ignore the errors about mount sd card that's also normal

It's totally up to you it depends how you feel about it. If the device still has warranty you will need s-off should you ever want to claim on it. It's also the reason I pointed you to the Stock reset rom rather than the RUU. Because the latest available RUU for your device has a lower firmware version than currently on the device. So you need s-off to use it.
But if your not that bothered then just go ahead and keep the device s-on. It just means that if you update the device and then later need s-off for some reason your only way will be Sunshine which you have to pay for. So i preffer to make people aware of it. But its totally up to you :good:

HTC One M7 Problem

Basically I've had a problem for about 4 days now, I had installed CWM and SuperSU, so my phone was unlocked and rooted. I then decided to install something called ViperOne I believe it was a theme. Read the instructions on "How to Flash" on page one of this link

And then flash this ruu from page 1 also
