HTC One M7 Problem - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Basically I've had a problem for about 4 days now, I had installed CWM and SuperSU, so my phone was unlocked and rooted. I then decided to install something called ViperOne I believe it was a theme. But I must have missed a major step as my phone only boots to the second part of the HTC boot, it then freezes. I have tried everything to fix my phone, quite literally. And I don't know else to do is my broken permanently? Here is some info:

[Also if it helps I don't have a sd card, thanks!]

ViperOne isn't a theme, its a ROM

if you read the instructions from the ViperOne thread, you should use TWRP recovery to flash it an not CWM.

Tried what said at ViperOne FAQ #2 and 6 ?
Or you can go back to stock by flashing the 7.19.401.2 RUU (look at the sticky threads in the general section)
is my broken permanently?

No don't worry, should be really easy to fix.
And finally you shouldn't flash something if you are not sure what it is...

Thanks alray, I understand the problem I don't have an OS installed. My phone is also on S - On. So I don't know what to do

Read the instructions on "How to Flash" on page one of this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
And then flash this ruu from page 1 also
7.19.401.2
It will erase all data on device.

[Q] not a softbrick, more like roms wont load correctly.

Basically being as dumb as I can be in this situation in the beginning after just getting this device I managed to load this old TWRP recovery here
Then I realized I also downloaded the incorrect GP edition rom (which i blindly missed NOT FOR SPRINT, im used to my old 3d which was enough for me at the time). So I sideloaded some other custom sprint roms trying them out then whoops, I accidentally wiped everything. Still nothing worked after trying new recoveries and roms. After a week or so of not having a phone to use ive been forced to try and get it back to stock with STILL no luck. If I can get this situated soon AND have something fancier than Sense than that would be extremely helpful. Ive even tried that recent factory ruu method that has been on here recently and nothing

Not sure why I still cant get S-Off, the all in one toolkit doesnt budge when I try to set permisssions.
However the RUU methods you provided worked like a charm, and I was able to start fresh and load pacman which I LOVE!

[Q] Stock recovery

Been trying to get the stock recovery back as I'm sending my phone to HTC for repairs (bottom mic seems broken, all I hear is a loud static noise in recorded videos and can only use my phone on loudspeaker as it uses the top mic).
Anyway, I've tried the stock recovery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752 but it won't boot to recovery.
I'm on stock 4.3 sense rom. HBoot 1.54 and *don't know what this number is for* 2.24.401.1
So, can someone help me out with the necessary recovery link?
Also, I know this won't remove the tampered and relocked in the bootloader, but will it matter if I send it to htc this way since its a hardware issue. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Download from here, the recovery 2.24.401.1 and flash it.
After, you can see if it works when you're booting into it you can see a triange with a warning signal

[Q] Sprint HTC One - Complete Failure to Unlock/Flash New Rom

I've searched the Forum but I'm so over-my-head that I'm not really finding my exact issue and I'm kinda trying things willie nillie which I know is going to leave me with a bricked phone.
I tried following the rooting guide at http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-root/how-to-root-htc-one-windowsmaclinux/ and booted into my Sprint Rom successfully with the SU installed. Then I added the Android Revolution rom and tried to flash it. Since that point I've had boot loop issues.
Android Revolution will boot loop to the bootloader and not even attempt to get into the OS. When I tried installing Viper Rom, I could get to the unlock screen, but when I'd unlock, the screen would display a white page with "htc" on it, then eventually reboot. I then tried to flash the stock Sprint Rom. It will load to the lock screen, but not unlock, and will reboot eventually. Finally, I tried following the instructions here from a similar situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411137. When I go through the first tutorial the [SOLVED] post refers to, I get the error that warning: seek lseek64 failed when I try the second step. I also can't get RUU to work because when I turn my phone off and plug it in, it automatically turns on to the bootloader.
Presently the bootloader reads:
tampered
relocked
security warning
m7_wls pvt ship s-on rh
hboot 1.55.0000
opendsp-v31.120.274.0517
os-1.29.651.10(weird character)
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Sep 18 2013 15:46:04.0
Fastboot and ADB are working for me.
Please, any advice would be appreciated

It looks to me like your not unlocked anymore. Your Bootloader should say Unlocked, not Relocked. I would go through that process again before you do anything else.
EDIT: I found this, and it is great. Very user friendly, and will also help you achieve S-Off. Just follow the steps.

did the following:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Chose "Yes" to unlock bootloader
Allowed phone to reboot
--Attempts to boot into the rom, but is non-responsive
--Will reboot periodically if left alone
Now in hboot it says *** unlocked ***, does not have the security warning, but still, I can't seem to get the rom to ever boot properly. Also I still can't RUU because the phone won't shut down (and because I'm unlocked again).
Thank you for your help - any other ideas?

If it were me I would go to Wipe in Recovery, and wipe everything EXCEPT internal storage, wipe system most of all. Then try to flash the ROM. Some times dirty flashing can cause lots of issues.

Ok, so after some pretty extensive research here is what I have found. First you are on a newer HBOOT version than I am (not sure how this happened was pretty sure I updated, but who knows), so the only way for you to achieve S-Off is using rumrunner. You can find that info at the link below. Do that first, then after that you should be able to complete the rest of the steps in the [SOLVED] forum you found earlier. Fingers crossed this works for you.

Maybe I'm misreading it, but rumrunner requires you to be able to boot into a rom.
Went through the steps in the guide posted as a solution to your second link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646) and there's no change in behavior, though my information at the top of hboot now reads as follows:

Scratch previous post about USB connection - it's just acting weirder than before but still allows sideload.

PM me your google username, and I will chat with you on Hangouts. Maybe we can figure it out that way.
I was speaking with a friend and he thinks that this may have started because I flashed a GSM rom accidentally instead of a Sprint-designed-rom. Also he said my hboot might be the wrong version to go through the fix that MrFixIt and others have posted where you use fastboot to go through the oem recovery to sideload a rom.
Any ideas would be welcome at this point.

I know he's using the wrong TWRP.
but......... im thinking this is his RUU (based on his current rom version and his baseband version)
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/
But to be sure I need his cid at least.
doesn't seem to know what he's doing with custom rom's, so this will put him back to stock, at least he'll have a working phone. :good:
EDIT: correction, that's not his RUU.

that is an M7_U ruu, and the OP is M7_UL... but right now RUU is irrelevant / a premature step
i can assume the OP is angry, frustrated, and panicking, so first priority would be to get his phone up and running, just to alleviate some of the tension... so let him flash a proper recovery for 4.4+ ROMs, then the installation will go fine, and then he's relaxed enough not to hit his phone with a hammer

He tried to flash a custom rom on a locked bootloader? With stock recovery? And phone reporting "encryption unsuccessful"?
FYI it's impossible to flash any custom software on a locked and s-on bootloader, neither using the stock recovery. Simply sounds like he tried to encrypt user data...a factory reset from stock recovery should fix the problem, otherwise restoring using a RUU is something to consider.

Follow the guide at the end of post #2 of the lollipop ruu collection thread (see stickies in the general section) to downgrade your version-main to 7.18.161.2 then flash the 7.18.161.21 ruu. After flashing the ruu you'll have to download 2 Ota updates so the phone is back to .161.51

There is no video and not planning to make one.
Unlock your bootloader, flash twrp recovery, follow guide at the end of post #2 to downgrade your version-main and flash the ruu using instruction of post #1.
