Did you just needed the smartaction apk, or also system files to make it work on the Moto X? I have migrated from Razr I to Moto X; and the only thing I really miss is SmartActions.. If just installing the apk would give it back, it would be really great; Assist is just brrr..
By any chance; link to Smartactions apk?

Well, as you stated that you are still with motto band , I think you don't need any extra system file. Download the zip file , extract it , put the files in their proper positions according to the sub folder in extracted folder. If any file already exist in system don't replace it.Try and give feedback. I am not taking any credit or responsibility of it. I have tested in non moto device and it works except the location. If you able to get logcat then you can find which system file is needed for location access. Pl. Give feedback.

Wiimote Support!

So I somewhat got Wiiremote support on the Vivid. I extracted the Bluetooth.apk from a Cyanogenmod rom.
1.) you need to have a odexed rom (I used rumraider b3)
2.) install the attached file by putting it in /System/app (i put it on my sd card and used root explorer)
3.) install Bluez IME and the HID addon (google it )
4.) follow the IME's instuctions and select Wiimote (HID) for the device.
known problems:
lights continue to blink, it's connected and won't turn off but the lights blink instead of show the 1
use at your own risk, this worked for me, no one else has tested it. Let me know how it works for you
Sry if this is off topic ,will this work for ps3axis controller

i'm not sure you can try? i don't see why it wouldn't.
The HTC Sense bluetooth apk is the "roadblock" for pairing the remotes. swapping it out should solve problems for all the pairing problems.
You know, I never would have thought of trying this on my own. I've got a bluetooth device that won't sync properly with anything stock on the vivid but I had GB ROM that I think used the telstra bluetooth stack that worked perfectly. Since going to ICS it had stopped working again but after reading this post I decided to pull the Bluetooth.apk off that old ROM and it works perfectly again.
Thanks for the tip.
Is this possible on the new stock ATT ICS rom? How can I backup or get the original installer for bluetooth on this rom? Thank you.

You can use a file browsing app like Root Explorer.
The Bluetooth.apk will be in system/apps. Mount system to R/W
move the original file to your sdcard somewhere.
And take the one posted in op's post up above.
And paste and install it in system/apps.
You need root permissions to do this though. Good luck.

It looked like I was able to just open the apk file posted and install it. Do you think this is possible? I didn't want to screw up my phone if I didn't have the original to replace it. Thanks.

it has to be put in the system apps folder because that's where the phone looks for the bluetooth support. also it needs some elevated permissions and isn't made to comply with superuser.
you can make a backup just in case
Had it sync fine the first time I tried it, and then my dad called and my screen off profile was too low so my phone restarted lol. Now I can't get it to sync again! When I Activate Bluetooth with Bluez IME selected I get a "pairing request," and if I choose it from the notification menu it says to enter a PIN on the phone and device (which I can't because you can't enter a PIN on the wiimote, plus the IME isn't touch input anymore).
My steps:
Activate Bluetooth
Scan for devices - Nintendo RVL-CNT-01
Select Device Driver - Wiimote (HID)
Select IME - Bluez IME
Anddd the wiimote just times out. Any insight?
try uninstalling the apk that you installed via installer (not dropping in system/app) if you haven't already
then maybe try reinstalling bluez IME?
i wish i could be more help!
Keep getting a "Disconnected: Software Interference" Are there limitations on a per-app basis as far as functionality is concerned?

[MOD] PRL Write Enabler for Sprint Galaxy S4 [MDC][MDL][MJA]

First off this work is based on Digiblur's PRL Write Enabler from the Sprint Galaxy S3 forum. I simply modified it & packaged it for our Sprint Galaxy S4 devices.
Here is the original S3 post that this was found in... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159054
Also, post #8 below provides additional info.
I tested it by flashing with TWRP and it worked on my stock, rooted S4 with the MDC and MDL releases.
If you're on a stock rooted Rom and not using TWRP, you can just copy the HiddenMenu.apk from inside the zip file downloaded into /system/app/ and overwrite the one that's there. (You'll need a root enabled file browser to do this of course).
Thanks to Unknownforce here is a version for MJA...
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291676468
Enjoy!!
This certainly will save me from having to use CDMA WS to switch like I just did yesterday. 55014 was not working well for me in my market so I switched back to 25014.

You mean the install of the zip?
If so, you can pull the APK out of the zip and replace HiddenMenu.apk in the system folder (make a backup first). You may want to also set the permissions to rw-r-r after replacing the system app. Reboot, then you should be good to go.
@ChadH42,
I know it seems like I'm harping on you but I'm really not..
You need to update the OP on - 1. What is this? 2. What does this do? 3. Why is this in the Development Section.. ?
A good OP leads to less questions.. Development Sections aren't for information. That would be considered a Discussion Thread that belongs in General.
Let's keep the Dev section clean from the start.
My suggestion - Edit the OP on the What's/Why's?/How To's and you won't get posts like mine.
To the OP, updated your title as [WIP], and I suggest you provided additional information so that folks aren't bricking their new devices.
I will check in, if you need anything, let me know.
What this MOD does (in case the OP takes a little while to chime in)
What this MOD does is modifies our ##DATA# (select View) menu to allow for the PRL Write option to appear and function. With this menu option, the user can change their PRL on the fly from the device itself by placing a copy of the desired PRL in the root directory of Internal Storage and name it "test.prl" (no quotes), dial ##DATA# (choose View), tap Write PRL, tap the sub-menu option Write PRL ---wait--- and then the device reboots with the test.prl PRL applied upon reboot. Not every PRL works and sometimes it takes a couple of tries.
A tip for multiple PRL options is to, of course, keep a folder of the PRLs you like and keep them labeled in there. Copy the desired PRL to proper place as needed and just remember to rename the copy to "test.prl". Switch back and forth as you please. I hope this helps clear some confusion and helps some find purpose with the MOD like I have.
For a clear set of instructions that I did not want to just copy verbatim, check the link below. Also, if you are having issues with the zip not installing in CWM, just extract the APK from the ZIP (inside the system/app folder), use Root Explorer or your favorite root-access file explorer to place the APK in the APP folder, apply the proper permissions and reboot.

I just tried this mod with the Force ROM and it did the same thing (blank options). The only thing I can think of is that it works with the odex version of the stock ROM so maybe its a problem with deodex ROMs of which Force is one.
O okay. Its currently not a necessary thing for me at the moment, just nice for when I travel to Alabama. Hopefully later on someone gets it working on deodex.

I am actually running it on the Rooted Stock DeOdexed ROM. So I don't think it is an Odex/DeOdex issue...might be a Force ROM issue.
Also, moot point for Force ROM (1.0+) anyway because the PRL Write mod is already included with that.
I'm also having this problem and I'm pretty sure it was working this morning. I haven't flashed anything since then.
edit-- I tried:
1. wiping both cache's
2. killing background process "OIThiddenmenu"
neither fixed it.
I reinstalled the stock odex ROM and flashed this again and it worked.
Just an FYI, OP, I get Error Status 6 when trying to flash this via recovery, which indicates one of two things. Either the format of the file is incorrect or there is a syntax error. The syntax looks fine, but opening in basic Notepad shouldn't "look pretty" like it currently does. So it's likely it was edited with a non-Unix-compatible text editor like Notepad or MS-Word...
To make modifications to an updater-script (or just about any Android/Linux files like this) you need something like Notepad++ or gVim.
Anyways, I did a quick test with this, and it does in fact not work on my ROM as it is, but I see why it's failing, but I don't know what exactly it's trying to reference yet. (It fails with an id number instead of a name, so I'll have to de-compile some things to find it.)
I'm not sure it's a ROM issue or a MOD issue yet. (meaning it might have to be updated for each custom ROM, depending on how they are configured) But I'll track it down and update when I can.

I think TWRP can read the non Unix type characters, which is why it works on a different recovery.
I'm hoping it's a mod issue and I can just modify the mod to work universally regardless of the rom. But we'll see.

Motorola Connect & Motorola Assist apks

Hello.
I would like to use these two apps on my device (Nexus 4), but they are incompatible and I can't download them.
For about 3 hours I have searched for ways to download these two apks but have ultimately failed to do so.
Google provided no help, as they appear to be uploaded nowhere else on the internet, for me to download.
I have tried changing build.prop (=> no effect), I have tried downloading via the chrome extension APK Downloader (=> requires the Device ID of a Moto X, which I do not own), I have tried using Market Helper (=> outdated, only offers SGS3 and HTC One X as replacement options).
In short nothing works.
I would be very grateful if someone were to upload these two apk and give me the link.
It should be very simple to download them using a Moto X, as the only thing you have to do is simply grab them from the play store and then just extract the apks (using an app similar to Fast Uninstaller to create an .apk backup of it).
Thank you

I don't yet have an X so I can't help, but it's worth mentioning that even if someone provides the APK's they probably will not work because they're dependent upon framework changes that Motorola made for the X.
As an alternative to Motorola Connect you might consider trying "Mighty Text".

Dialer Search

Does anyone know if there is a way to install the dialer that searches? I believe I was told recently it is a Nexus only feature that allows you to search for a store/business by typing in the name of the business and it will show a list of addresses and phone numbers right from the dialer.
I have had it on my phones (sideloaded) in the past and I was hoping to see it on the L update, but no such luck.
Use Nexus L dialer. There are many sites to download it as: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-new-apps-apks-android-5-0-lollipop-preview-images/. But remember: the dialer indeed enable you to search sites but it is not a replacement for Moto phone functionality. So you must keep original phone.apk and dialer.apk in the system.
Thanks for the info, how do I install this on a non-rooted (VZW) Moto X? Cannot access root to push the .so file and the apk won't install.

In fact I have previous version of Moto x (2013) and I used various Nexus apps many times. I still have Nexus dialer even inverted and it works flawlessly. I believe that it could be installed on 2014 model too if it is compatible with lollipop.
I found the last version of dialer and tried it on my phone. It works and it should work on 2014 as well. I attached the zip. Try this:
Unzip the file and push it with appropriate explorer (as root explorer or similar) to the file where original dialer exist (mine is system/priv-apps). Change permissions to rw-r-r and reboot.
If your launcher supports activities find phone (new) and pin it to the home screen. Otherwise download Anycut form Google Play and find it in its activities.
If this method wouldn't work it means that there is no lollipop Google Phone apk available for downloading yet. It's just a question of time to get one.
In meantime and if you don't have rooted phone you can find a phone app which supports global contacts search. The most popular is CallApp (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.callapp.contacts).

I've gotten the previous dialer to work. It's the new one (2.0) that I can't get to work. The one on the site you linked. I was wondering if you had any luck with that.
I didn't. But if you had previous Google dialer working on Lollipop, do you expect significant improvements with 2.0?

FM Radio App update with recording enabled

Hello everybody,
this is an update for the official LG FM radio app, that in my device (and maybe also im yours) was stuck to the 6.20 version. Here it is the 7.10, with a bonus: you can install a patched version that enables radio recording in every country in the world, and also allows you to use radio while the phone is in airplane mode (the funny thing is that in the app's code, it's called "airplain" mode).
If you just want to update the app, install the com.lge.fmradio apk file as usual. If you want to enable recording and airplane mode mod, don't update but just copy the base.apk file to /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder, renaming the base.apk file to LGFmRadio.apk.
it works kinda
ok so in stock rooted lg g5 h850
the update works as is and also i was able to roll back to the 6version but the MOD does not work . I did not get any record button or smthing like that. Restarted it multiple times and gave the same RW permissions as the original file ....
Do i miss a step or smthing ? idk
On my phone it worked, the app made a folder called "FM Radio" in the internal memory and it stored there the recordings in m4a format. Is the rom you're using deodexed? Because if you have the odex files maybe the recording part of the app is loaded from there. Check if in the /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder there is just the apk file or also the odex files. By the way, I think it was my fault in the instructions: I said that you had to install the update and then copy the apk file. That is wrong: if you want the mod, don't update and just copy the apk file. I'm going to correct the guide.
You maybe know how to make it work as a Magisk module? That would be easier and better than replacing a file in system folder.
Ok now
It was the steps wrong as u said ...did not had to install the new one only copy ... Man everything works thank you for finding this . Also i saw in the apkmirror many more apks like that ( mainly updates for the apps that we have in g5 ).I think like the radio it is- was updates for lg g6 lg v20 maybe giving them more features over g5 ( to boost sales ?) Could be it ...idk really :silly . Hahah
Thanks for sharing with us
---------- Post added at 11:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 PM ----------
Add that u need to give the same rw permissions and UID like the original file
It may be not necessary but could be helpfull revolving small issues
Yeah, on apkmmirror there are a lot of updated LG apps that work on G5 Oreo. As fas as I know after testing them, Gallery, Contacts, File Manager, Calendar, Clock and QuickMemo work perfectly. Messages doesn't open at all, and camera opens only in Selfie mode, but crashes when trying to use one of the rear cameras.
Of course I'm talking about the latest versions that don't require Android 8.1 or above.
Issue with H830
