Hi! Can I get fm radio for moto g, avaible by play store (but not downloadable if i haven't a moto g), from another side/download link? Thanks in advance!
Inviato dal mio DROID4 con Tapatalk 4
Second that! If there's any chance it is compatible with the Droid 4, I'ld really like to check it out.
I know you're interested in another app, but just in case your goal is just to get working FM radio app: Spirit UL works like charm on D4
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm_unlock
I've Spirit FM UL running, already. It may be the D4 itself, but without another app to compare to, reception seems not as good as with my DEFY. Way more prone to interferences. And the volume can't be set, if the screen's off/locked.
I've tried to get some other FM-apps to run, but they won't. And I dunno how to fix'em. Maybe it's just the Android version info, maybe somethin' else.

This could be done by changing your /system/build.prop to pretend it's moto g. I don't have time to fiddle with it, but would like to see the result
Or even easier, if you have a friend with moto g, he can install it and the apk is then located in his /data/app or /system/app (needs root to get there ofc).

The LG apps rely very heavily on the LG framework, so the simple answer is 'no'. There are plenty of FM Radio apps on the Play Store though, so you should just try some of them.

Cyanogen have started to add support for FM Radio, but it is unlikely to work on our device. If you follow their G+ page you will see that it is dependant on the chipset in the device and they currently have it working on Sony devices because Sony support the Dev community and have helped them to get it working.
This is one of those features that, if it really bothers you so much, means you are likely to have to always remain on Stock ROMs.

thanks dude...
Y'all think they'll be available, seeing as how this seems to be based on the droid turbo with most of the same hardware?
I had a moto x (2013) and loved those features, just wasn't crazy about the battery life.
A nexus 6 with working active display/moto voice would be amazing.
It looks like Google has incorporated similar features into Android itself.
There's something new called Ambient Display, which is similar to Moto Display.
You can say "OK Google" with the screen off, which is functionally similar to Moto Voice — albeit without the custom launch phrases.
Moto Voice records your voice and then pipes that recording into Google Now. Since this new feature launches Google Now directly, it's probably a lot faster than Moto Voice.
Is there anything setting need to do before OK Google works with screen off?

To be honest I rather have Moto Display than Ambient Display, Google's version just has soo many flaws, and sometimes its not consistent and not only that, theres not much features
If porting the Moto Display and other goodies from the X will be possible I'll be keeping a close eye out
I exported most of the files required for it, but am stuck at the Motorola-specific signature process... And life is getting in the way as well.
Anyone see that China is getting the moto x pro? It's basically the nexus 6 without the nexus branding. Any bets on whether it'll come with the moto tweaks and that a ROM can be made for the nexus 6?
Does anyone know if the moto voice has been ported for the Nexus 6? I like that the moto voice will read your messages to you.

Not yet. I think the best bet would be perhaps getting a dump from the Moto X Pro, which is the Chinese variation of the Nexus 6. China doesn't have Google services, so the Nexus branding has been dropped and all Google apps, but Moto looks to have added their apps to it. Some pics here, which you can see some of the icons on the home screen (unsure if it will have all of the Moto apps though).

Theres a Moto X Pro system dump in this thread.
The Moto X Pro bootanimation.zip uses video files and videodesc.txt instead of .png images and desc.txt like Nexus 6, but it works by just copying /system/bin/bootanimation file from Moto X Pro to Nexus 6, changing permissions and rebooting. Can the same be said for the Moto Apps? Just copy all the apks from /system/priv-app on Moto X Pro to same place on Nexus 6, as well as the /system/lib and /system/bin files?
If anyone knows how to do this it would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I'll be searching for threads that point me in the right direction and trying the method I mentioned to see what happens.

They are not compatible
The applications of Moto X Play, do not work in Moto G 2014, having different hardware environment components, are for specific functions, because I have tested in the two models.

Its specifications are very similar to those of Moto X Play, but not equal. Unfortunately I can not post pictures, so you could see more detail. I can tell you that the Moto X Play has no gyro sensor, see the next image the first is the Nexus 4 and the second X Play.
http://i.blogs.es/2a7a02/moto-x-style-sensors/650_1200.jpg
Although Turbo is enhanced version, of the standard version of Moto G 2015 has no components X Play.
Also I have the Moto x 2014 and has many components that no longer X Play.
Make a simple test, pick up the phone and if you turn the screen without touching a button, and without using any external application, you might run dedicated applications to Moto X Play

Greetings!
Hello All,
I have found an app on playstore which enables notification LED. I have tested the app and it is working while the phone is kept on charging. Doesnt work for notifications. I found it good and useful so I thought I must share it with you. Here is the link below

Just so that I am reading these link correctly- Both the OP and the second post are for ROOT required devices? When I click on the link it takes me to a app for a ROOTED device. Anything for a non rooted device? Looking for app for a Moto G5 plus.
All of the apps require root, because they need some magic to access the hardware.
They will work on G5+, i have tried them myself. LineageOS now supports the notification light natively, BTW

Lineage supports it for notification, or just for charging like these apps do? I'm under the impression that the LED is wired to pins responsible for charging status and not accessible to the OS for notifications, but I would love to be wrong.
Meanwhile, is root required in perpetuity for the app to work? Or can it be installed and running and then returned to unrooted? I have a heck of a time playing cat and mouse with apps that require safetynet, so I like to temporary root these days.
Re: LED
For both. Running lineage 14.1 and by default the LED is on for charging (easily turned off under notification settings); but it also flashes the LED when email comes in. So it's great.

That does sound pretty great actually!
I heard lineage had some bugs on this phone so I wasn't really interested before, but now I may give it another consideration. Do any other ROMs do that or just that one?
Using 14.1 on Moto 5g+ for 2 weeks.. no bugs I can detect so far..smooth and stable. Grab the 11/26/2017 build in the thread..

Hi!
I bought my Z3 from BHPhoto in the US and I got the Alexa speaker mod free, which is great, however I can't use it to the fullest because the Moto Alexa app isn't available here in Canada.
I can only find older versions, which work fine with my old Z2 Play, but just crash constantly with the Z3 ...
Does anybody by any chance know where I can get the latest version?
Alexa.?.

Yeah, it's pretty silly, but the mod does still work as a very good speaker at least.
I'm sure they'll get around to translating the app to Canadian soon... :silly:
Just change your location with a VPN to America and it should work fine
Tunnel Bear to the US didn't work, it still tells me it is not available in my country. Anyone find a work around yet?
