Edit your build.prop and add this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
It's cool if you like to use LMT or PIE, that permit to use the full screen and keep the statusbar features.
Need a reboot.
Don't use "expand desktop" option.
Off course, activate another Softkeys/navbar solution (LMT,PIE...) BEFORE add the line in the build.prop !
LMT : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
PIE is roughly the same (less functions) as LMT and it's directly inculded in PA, RootBox...
Please report how it work on other ROM/Kernel.
Edit : Now using PA, just go to Settings/Hybrid Property/Interface dans set Nav. Bar to 0.
That do the trick.
Enjoy
Thanks, didn't think it was that easy.

Thank you for this. Great information. Sadly can't access that file yet until I am rooted, but I do look forward to it.
in pa you simply set navbar to 0%. done. no reboot needed. and pie is not part of lmt. lmt is a ready made google control tweaked a bit. pie is an open source control written from scratch. everything that goes beyond simple navigation is pie and was pies from the beginning. lmt took/replicated some of these ideas now, but please someone stop that meme already, i seriously cant see it anymore. everyday lmt gets another idea from us and people then come and say we got it from them is like a kick in the kneecap.

Doesnt make a difference in PA, same effect as setting the nav bar to 0% in PA settings the issue I have is that PIE works in basic mode where there is only the buttons no notifications when I activate it. Would rather have that function as I liked that part of it .
If you look at this thread again Moles, any idea?.

awesome..thanks for this...which one would you recommend though? LMT or PIE?
I used LMT but it seems like it lags a tad. Hitting the back button on my nav bar responds a lot faster than touching the back button on LMT...or is it just me?

I use PIE included in Rootbox box and no problem, no lag or anything esle. It's a a quitte difficult at the beginning to get the right movement but a bit of training and it's good for me.
I use LMT on my Galaxy tab without lag too...

I use Button Savior with this line added to system/build.prop "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1". Works like a charm. Button Savior is available at https://play.google.com/store/search?q=button+savior and provides hidden soft keys navigation available with a simple swipe or by clicking an app icon. Works with any launcher.

Yes. It will come back if you delete that line.
Although it's been said already, make sure you have an alternate nav key option installed before adding that line.

You could try a different Launcher, Nova Launcher for example. Not sure about other workarounds to get rid off the searchbar...
R: Hide ICS Hotbar only?
ok for nova launcher but remember this: is it worth using a different launcher than stock one? what about battery consumption comparison between stock and any different one?

I did the same thing, but wanted to keep the status bar and launcher. None of the apps I could find did a decent job, and all the ones that hide both bars are a horrible hack: they kill the systemUI process at regular interval!
In the end, I found a very simple way to do it, with no additional resource needed, apart from an alternative navigation bar. See my post on the Post your RAZR i Homescreens thread.
Brilliant!! Thanks

Just a thread to discuss things to add to PAC that are either OEM or just not mainline (like using arrrghhh's kernel over the cm one).
So far all I really have planned to do is the custom kernel and some Droid Ultra apps, as well as setting up the addon.d script to accommodate the Moto apps.
The only PAC sources I'm changing for this are PAC-man/android_vendor_pac (because I have different dependencies that need to be included there) & PAC-Motorola/android_device_motorola_msm8960-common because that's where all the additions are going. Both forks are located on my github page (https://github.com/skeevy420) for those that want to help or submit pull requests.
Hey skeevy, what about adding the Pure Performance mod?
Sent from my PACman AHD
Maybe bits and pieces of it. Most of what it does can be replicated with init.d scripts or by tweaking existing lines in our init scripts. I think we'd be better off finding better default values for various things rather than flashing a mod and calling it good.

Not sure what all he did with HoloBlur. Right now I'm doing a build with some Moto stuff added and some Interactive tweaks (almost not worth mentioning). Gonna use that build to determine future gov/io tweaking.

Don't know how easy this would be (if possible), but what about replacing (or giving the option to choose between the two like nova launcher does) the JB google search bar with the ICS one? (The clear search bar)

Yea but I don't think it would be worth it without the full version (and trebuchet already has way more customization option for free). I don't think it would be legal (if its possible to use the full version and put it on a rom for everyone to use) and even if there's no legal problems, its probably just not right seeing as how it would be cheating the developer(s).

Just thought of another one, can you bring back Moto actions app?
Sent from the PAC-MAXX on Tapatalk
Lockscreen Tourch: I don't know how the S4 does it but I found a lockscreen torch commit for aokp. Should be able to merge that in to pac, though it will be a ***** cause the aokp code is in rom control and the pac code is in settings. I'll probably mess with that when I get off work tonight.
Group messaging -- I'd have to look into it. If someone else already knows of one, post a rom that has this feature. Maybe it can be incorporated.
Lockscreen status bar hidden/transparency idea -- See above.
Other Launcher -- If it can be installed from the market then don't ask....I'm only interested in the Ultra Launcher because it dpi scales properly (dpi tweak the AHD stock launcher and see what happens) and has Circles which, imho, is the best thing Moto has done.
Moto Actions -- Ya mean SmartActions? If so, then only the version shipped with Atrix HD/RAZR HD phones. I haven't been able to get the updated SmartActions the Ultra line ships with to work.
Funny thing is only the last 2 ideas will be in the custom pac. Lockscreen crap and messaging are basic rom features and not really device specific like our oem moto/device specific crap I'd like to add are -- they'd be better off being submitted to pac gerrit review to be added to all devices.

I thought that I read that CM 10 has group messaging, but I'm not sure. 4.2 was supposed to support it also. I know our stock AT&T JB rom had it.

Hello,
here i present you the moto x 4.4 white status bar for droid maxx, ideal to use with gravitybox to get the whitish kitkat look.
Obviously Root is required.
Simply put The file in System/Priv-app.
backup the original file just in case you dont like it.
and restart the phone.
These icons ARE NOT VERIZON UGLY 4G/3G Icons.
This file doesnt change Clock and Battery color, thats why you need gravity box.
if this was useful to you press thanks!
Can't you just adjust the colors to white in GravityBox? What is different with this? Just curious.

So, a little while ago I deleted the systemui.apk. and started using apps such as pie pro and tiny apps for basic usage of the phone. I don't know why, but I hate the status bar and constantly on screen navbar, deleting systemui.apk gets rid of both in lollipop, while still preserving the use of the keyboard. This could be done on 4.4 using xposed framework, but as we all probably know. It's not functioning for lollipop yet, or at least three hasn't been a replacement.
My question is, is there a better way to achieve no status bar, no navbar, and fully functioning keyboard. Without getting rid of systemui and everything else it does?
So far everything I've noticed missing, that can't be fixed by tasker, pie pro, moto display, or tiny apps: no screen shots, no recent app draw, notifications don't make sound, and reddit is fun won't open for whatever reason.

I know on KitKat you can edit the build.prop to get rid of the navbar but I'm not sure if you can still on Lollipop. I'm not a fan of Lollipop so both my Android phones are staying on KitKat. On KitKat, you can either edit or add the line " qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" to get rid of the navbar ( qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 would add it for phones with hardware buttons) but again I'm not sure if that works on Lollipop. Also, this is just for the navbar and has no effect on the status bar. If you are going to try it, make sure to do a nandroid and also make a backup of your unedited build.prop. Proceed with caution, I'm not responsible if anything bad happens.
