Hello, I'm trying to apply a OTA update but when this finish the process it shows a pop-up saying "the installation couldn't finish"...
In the installation process this startup whit CWM and the process doesnt finish, I suppose that is because the installation is over CWM and no with the original recovery.
So... how I can remove cwm so i can use the original recovery?
THANKS!

Yeah you will need the stock recovery if you want to do OTA updates. As mentioned above, use the toolkit to flash back to it.

ps: i got my recovery image here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829
well this is because your stock Android is still pointing to the stock recovery,
There are two ways of overcoming the problem you have,
Step 1 would be to flash recovery again
Step 2 would be to boot the phone into recovery (without booting into the stock OS) after completing step 1 and flash a custom ROM or you need to delete a few files.
Instructions for deleting the files can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000357
Hope this helps.
To get into your custom recovery without booting, just follow the on phone menu options, BOOTLOADER then RECOVERY. Once in recovery, flag this, and it will delete the two files that restore stock recovery:

Is it possible to flash a recovery without using ADB? Possibly directly from the phone using the terminal? I have my phone at work on a computer without ADB, and my phone has its bootloader unlocked but has not been rooted.

Short answer is no...
Unlocking the bootloader allows you to use fastboot, which requires connection to a computer. On phone methods require root access...
If you have a usb cable you could do it from your works computer (all you need install is the driver).

Just use Rom manager and first flash an old version of clockworkmod, which is located on the bottom of the app. After that flash amon ra recovery which is the option above the clockworkmod option.

He can't use rom manager due to fact that he does not have root.

In the future we may be blessed with a Jelly bean update, like the n7000 is getting now. In that case we may want to install our stock recovery. Well in the absence of a CWM/ TWRP flashable stock recovery I created one for our phone.
Step one download file to your SD card. (Internal for CWM External for TWRP)
Step two reboot to recovery.
Step three install from sd card.
Step four Choose RecoverystockT879.
Flash.
Confirmed working on both CWM and TWRP.
A special thanx to tomin.fhl for providing the stock Recovery.img.
Thank you. Now I feel a little less inhibited trying this.
No problem.

No it won't. You need to have your phone nand unlocked and have the unlock code. Unfortunately you can't legally do that anymore. Att might do it for you for a small fee, I don't know for sure. About the ota update, don't do it it will take you for a bootloop. The update is for the T879 not for the I717.

I rooted my HTC one and there is a software update now that I tried install but whenever I click install it takes me to the recovery screen. Is there anyway to install it or would I have to unroot it first?

the problem is your "unlocked" bootloader. you can only get OTA updates with a "relocked" or "locked" bootloader.
just use fastboot and type in "fastboot oem lock" and it should work if your still on stock-rom.
Would it be named "OTA_WL_JB_spcs_wwe".zip

??
what are you trying to install? an official OTA update or a zip-file which you downloaded?
The OTA. I havent downloaded any roms at all I'm still on stock

so you've downloaded a zip-file which contains the OTA update, right? if yes, you'd just have to flash this file in your recovery.
As I understand it, Your phone has a OTA available via [Settings - About - Software Updates]
You have downloaded and tried to install - but it boots the custom recovery instead of the stock recovery.
To fix this you would need to install a stock recovery.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2373111
Hope that was what you was after.

this was what i thought too, but then he mentioned his zip file... when you do an OTA via settings, you should never see this zip...
but i agree with SolCenva, flash stock recovery, lock your bootloader and it must work..
Hey.
I run the one leaked V20A version, it is 'j794 root'-ed and i unlocked the bootloader using some .bat file. (I am a noob, yes)
In the aim to switch to cyanogenmod i tried installing the CWM recovery using 'LG-Optimus-4XHD-Recovery-v1.1' but after rebooting it gets stuck on the boot animation.
All I can access is the 3e recovery mode, but I have no clue what to do from there.
I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160488 but I don't even know what a busy box is.
Also, when trying http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723 I get stuck on step 6. No S/W Upgrade.
What should I do? Thank you very much in advance.

I've been getting the "System update downloaded" card popping up over the past day on my Live, but I can't install it. It needs to reboot to recovery and install it, but I have TWRP installed, so it just goes to the recovery main menu and does nothing.
Is there any way to install updates with the way my watch is currently, or do I have to flash stock recovery, update, then reflash TWRP?
Did you get it to work?
I flash stock wear recovery, then installed update. Went into recovery and started to install then it stopped and gave me the android with the triangle.
Downloading update from android police, i will try to adb sideloade update.

No, the exact same thing happens to me, and I get "Status 7" error and the same screen you got.
I used Tomsgt utility to lock bootloader and stock recovery.went to settings, system updates. Started to download update. After it downloaded flashed update. All is good. I'm on 5.0.1
Good luck! Let me know if this works for you.

I had to flash the stock KMV78Y located here before I could update (that's what the status 7 was about).
All good now.
