Hi there everyone
I bought my HTC One just one week before. I was using it without any problem since yesterday. Yesterday I updated my HTC to official JB 4.3 and sense 5.5 . Then few hours later I figured out a dead pixel at the bottom of the screen. I have started worried about it because I had just bought it, the phone was just for one week. And then another problem occured, the notification leds started not working properly. For instance; when I plug the charger to phone, the orange notif. works good and when the battery is full, it blinks green without any problem. But when there is a miss call or an unread message it sometimes blinks sometimes not. And for Whatsapp, it never blinks. I tried the test settings for the leds, they were working properly. I don't know if all this problems occur because of 4.3 and sense 5.5, I am just trying to comment on it.
What do you suggest me for the dead pixel and for the notification led problem?

Well if you have a dead pixel that's an hardware issue and your carrier should be able to exchange it.

Hello, I've recently set up ActiveSync for 15 minute intervals during peak time. I set "Vibrate" for New E-Mail Messages. Usually it vibrates for a few short bursts, but at least once per day the vibration motor freezes up and won't stop vibrating until I press the power button. The only other recent change to my settings was that I installed Bandswitch to keep connected to the Edge network and disconnect after 120 seconds. I don't know if this change is related to the vibration problem. Anybody have any suggestions?
if you have Magic Fingers installed, you might try uninstalling it
thanks for the advice, but I don't have Magic Fingers installed
hey. weird cause i used to have the same issue before, my phone whenever it received an email it would not stop vibrating until i removed the battery. lol weird i know. r u using the stock rom? ever since i changed rom's from stock i havent had that problem before.
try flashing ur rom to an upgraded att or htc rom, maybe it would solve ur issue as it did to me
best of luck
I have the exact same issue with incoming emails. For now I have turned off notification. Configuration is pretty generic.
This happened to me...
This happened to me once with the stock ROM. I have since upgraded to the leaked AT&T Tilt ROM and it hasn't happened since.
Any Hints?

I also have this problem, but its not with every e-mail. I receive between 10 and 20 e-mails a day and the continuous motor only happens about once every other day. I'm also on the stock ATT ROM. Anyone figure out what's going on with this?

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
this issue is a bummer
oh yeah this is becoming a real pita
Me too...
Using Blackberry connect on stock ROM on Tilt, new messages occassionally cause a constant vibration until I hit the power button.
Would love to know how to stop this,

In my experience I have found that this is caused by the device being forced to do something, i.e. check email, recieve email, before the device is fully "awake". The solution for me was acheived through the use of kaiser tweak. This also means there's a registry mod. for it as well, unfortunately I left my Kaiser at home today. If ylou change the device wake up to something more acceptable such as 15 seconds or 30 seconds instead of the 1 second default you may find this fixes your problem as it has for me!
If you did that, wouldn't you stand the chance of missing most of your phone calls while the phone is sleeping?
HI everyone.
I have just owned my Incredible S for a week now and theres one big issue with it that makes me crazy.
And it´s the notification LED and that it stops flashing after 5 minutes.
I have been able to get around this problem for missed calls and recieved messages after rooting my phone and install the app lightflow.
But the problem still remains with reminders. I use an app called "COL Reminder" and I can´t get that to flash the way I want. I want it to flash until I unlock the screen.
Can you guys help me?
Is there an other app maybe or can you get in to the scripts handling the LED in the phone and do some changes?
My phone is (as I wrote) rooted and I run the stock 2.3 Gingerbread ROM.
Please anybody??
Miui Rom maybe can do that.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk
Unfortunately not.
i remember having this issue with Hero as well.
In fact HTC got back then saying that this is a hardware issue & the programming is such that the blinking is for 5 minutes or until the user checks the notification, whichever comes first.
The LED type in the Hero is very similar to the IncS.
not sure why!
Folks,
New to the world of smartphones, have had a Touch Diamond 2 for the last year that I purchased from a coworker and has been working flawlessly for the past year and a half. However recently a very annoying problem has started. I am not able to get audio or vibrate notifications whenever I have any new SMS. The LED on the top of the phone though still blinks.
The second problem I have is that whenever the phone is rebooted, the voicemail indicator is always ON though there are no voicemails.
I can live with this one but the first one has driven me up a wall.
I have already checked up the settings and all of them look ok.
The phone is running Windows Mobile 6.5 though has been flashed with the Nataly ROM. I am not sure which version it is, on rebooting the phone this shows up as the phone starts up
R 4.49.25.17
G 61.44tc.25.32u
D 4.5.Nataly
Any thoughts on what could be happening and what I can do to resolve this issue?
The notification light/led only blinks for about 5 minutes. Because im not looking at my phone every five minutes, i often miss the notification. Why only make it blink for 5 minutes? It defeats the purpose of a notification led if it doesnt notify you when theres something going on. So... Is there a way to make it blink until the notification is cleared?
OMG, you not got a faulty device are you? Because this does sound really ridiculous - I mean, what, I leave my phone on my desk for 10 mins, then I come back - and see no LED blinking because its already stopped?
I have almost decided on getting One, but this ridiculous "feature" just totally bummed me....
I'm pretty sure it's 5 minutes by design. My One X + is the same way. I called HTC and they said yes, 5 minutes by design. If I recall, no one could find an app either that would extend the time.
But surely it must be changeable by tweaking the kernel driver (one that works with LED hardware)?
Maybe some custom kernels patched this?

any solution for this yet? this is a huge annoyance for me too. doesn't make any sense that this would be the design...
I've installed an app called 'Easy Reminder' (by Edges Labs) off the Play Store - with this active, the LED blinks for at least an hour for missed calls and unread SMS. You can set audible reminders for calls and SMS, going up to 'infinite' repeat, and this seems to keep the LED alive as well. I've set it to infinite but not tested it past an hour. Also, for missed calls only, in the app you can separately set the LED to blink, but I've not activated that as the LED blinks natively anyway - regardless, the LED still blinks for at least an hour for both calls and sms.
The app hasn't been updated since Jan 2011 but seems to work fine - also, someone resolved the same problem on their HTC One X a while back (HTC One X forum) using a different reminder app, so perhaps other similar apps will work the same.
Hey,
I have an HTC One black - stock os - UK unlocked version - after 4.2.2 update.
I've got a strange problem regarding the top of the touchscreen. when the phone is horizontal, the top bit (between the top bar to the first widget) is not working. the rest of the screen working fine. when I pick the device up, the screen is working fine 70% of the time. as a result, I cant open the notification bar and it thinks that I'm clicking or re-arranging my widgets.
It's weird because IT DOES work 60% of the time.
1. did any of you experienced any of this before?
2. What do you think it is? software or I have to replace the digitizer?
3. Is it just calibration problem? I tried to calibrate the device using the keyboard screen calibration and it didn't do anything.
Thanks!
Eran.

I
I just started experiencing this same problem today as well. I was on a Google Edition 4.3 Rom for about 2 days, Viper 3.2 I believe and everything was initially working as it should. Suddenly I began experiencing the non responsive status bar. I cleared data & cache, fixed permissions, and even tried a factory reset with no luck. I then reinstalled the Rom and the problem persisted. I then downloaded and installed black jelly Rom along with a complete wipe of the entire storage after transferring important data to my PC, but the status bar was still unresponsive and it appeared the top 1/4 inch of display had a digitizer issue. I tried to restore an older backup of Venom Rom running Sense and I still had no luck, until I went into the browser so that I could rotate into landscape to see if I could access it from this orientation (don't know why that didn't cross my mind sooner?) After I pulled the notification shade in landscape I left it down and rotated back into portrait mode and drew the shade back up slowly, following through with the gesture all the way to the top of the display. Then the functionality from portrait was restored! I believe this is a software bug of some sort, but I'm contemplating returning it to stock and relocking the bootloader to return it. I'm actually using the Tmobile variant and it's only about 30 days old. My insurance will cover a replacement for a faulty unit, but who knows if will happen with another? After a Google search I discovered this was an issue that surfaced with quite a few One X's as well, so I'm thinking it may be a bug that's consistent with some HTC hardware of a different variants? Any updates or insight would be appreciated.
