Special thanks to appelflap the explanations, follow the link

Remember that you must be connected to the internet via bluetooth gear and synchronized between BlueGps and ShareGPS like this one shown in this topic.
Install mode can be performed by any alternative in the gear I used wondershare 2x clicking on the install apk and after opening the maps when open will ask about gps and wifi settings click down the page and select data network ...
Go back to the map load and expect to be happy ...
REMEMBERING THAT THIS RELEASE AND NAVIGATION VOICE WORKS PERFECT!!
Next step is to go testing other versions of Google Maps.
Welcome opinions and if someone can post it with another application as fast as possible.

Maps 7 also works grat.

gps not workin :/

hi i wanted to say that gps in my xperia is not working, or I dont know how to turn it on.
when i turn on the google maps it says it need data connection, but what if i dont have wi-fi availible?
should I download some other gps program? update quick GPS (i dont even know which version is the newest)
seekin for help, thanks in advance
of course first I set it to port 4, but still need internet , what a crap :S
The fact that Google Maps asks for a data connection has nothing to do with your phones gps capabilities. It simply needs a connection to download the maps from Googles server. If you want an offline solution look for navicomputer at www.navicomputer.com or another program that works offline. Disadvantage: Most of them are commercial.
To use gps with Google Maps you have to activate gps in the settings of Google Maps. And if you want to use quick gps you also need a data connection because it does nothing more than download the current position of the satelites to get a quicker fix.
thank you sir I was almost sure about that, but I didnt want to spend my time downloading my country maps for a long time to offline GPS .. but I have no choice
and btw can anyone of you guys recommend me some kind of freeware gps software for my xperia?
Freeware solutions:
-Navicomputer (Openstreetmap)
-Openmobilemaps (Openstreetmap, small donation required)
-Google Maps (data connection required)
-Bing (data connection required)
There are many other solutions. Search the XDA Forums or like always: Google is your friend.
What is more difficult is finding a freeware point-to-point navigation program. Bing provides this (US only) but most other are commercial software.
ok i downloaded and installed navicomputer, but where do I get maps for it? :S cuz all I see is world map, but i cant zoom in to my country or anything. just google it?
Either use the software for your desktop/ notebook provided by the developer to download maps and transfer them to your device afterwards or download the maps directly to your device using navicomputer (there is a feature to do this). Or switch navi computer to online mode.
If you want more info read through the website of navicomputer or the corresponding thread here at XDA in the "Windows Mobile Development And Hacking\Windows Mobile Apps And Games" section. Like I wrote before: Perform a search here at XDA. Everyone who wants to know something has to, me too
I never use the google maps...
altae, seriously, if navicomputer would work on vista I would do that in a minute, but unfortunately it does not.
and what maps source provider u mean? i dont get it
apologise, i forgot to restart PC after framework installation, after I did it it works perfectly thanks ppl!!
See, I told you it works I hope everything is alright now.
yep, big + for you, cuz u recommended me this and helped me out, as far as im concerned its the best freeware GPS soft
The software is really good. The only problem is the coverage of openstreetmap. If your desired area is covered well everything is great. If not it (bad coverage) renders navicomputer useless. It's coverage can't compete with Google Maps. But at least you can contribute to the openstreetmap project and do some mapping yourself.

[Q] G Maps not working

Hi guys,
i m new to this forum, and i am from india. i am having a problem with my galaxy i9000
the google maps applications does not open, whenever it start the app, it keeps saying loading, even the gps indication does not show up in the notification bar.
please help.
Do you have internet enabled? What firmware are you using? MY recommendation is that you read throughout this forums first and check how people post questions. XDADEV is a community, not really a help forum. No offense, but we may need more information to give a proper answer.
well thanks for the reply,
my firmware is I9000DDJF6, and the internet is not enabled on my phone.

you must have internet to download the maps...
is there any way, by which we can install the maps on the phone so that internet connection is not used. or any app which can be used in place of gmaps?

If you want to use goggle maps there is no way. But if you have the possibility to have internet access you could cache the google maps on your SD, and use them whem u r offline. Download brut and cache the maps for the areas of your interest.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887
Other ways is to use other map solutions like OruxMaps
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.orux.oruxmaps
With OruxMaps you can use off-line maps. It is then pretty easy to download .kap maps of your area and then convert them to .png format and use in OryxMaps.
And then there are possible several other solutions.
thanks,
i will try this and let u know.
there are multiple files in the download section "http://rapidshare.com/users/OJW69I", should i install all the .apk files.

[WP7] TA Maps - Google Maps for WP7 - Now on Marketplace -[V]- 2.2 -[U]- 3/30/2011

Name: TA Maps
TechAutos Maps v2 is an updated version of one of the first jailbroken apps for WP7 and is now available on the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.
TA Maps is a mapping solution that uses sources like Google Maps and OpenStreetMap and gives better coverage in many parts of the world than Bing Maps.
For more information, screenshots, etc., see http://www.techautos.com/apps/tamaps.
Marketplace link: TA Maps
Features
Scrollable/zoomable maps
GPS location tracking
Search, driving directions
Maps: Google street/satellite/terrain/bicycle/China, OpenStreetMap, OpenCycleMap
Layers: Google traffic, transit
Favorite locations
Driving mode (keeps map centered on GPS location)
GPS sensitivity settings
Smoothly restores your last map view and pushpins
The next update (v2.3) will focus on an improved points-of-interest database.
Known Issues
The app sometimes encounters a bug in the WP7 map control- currently working with MS support on a workaround, but in the meanwhile, to get rid of the error, tap the bottom menu, then “clear map.”
Google Maps does not provide search data for Israel, North Korea, Cyprus, Guyana, Kiribati, Maldives, Malta, Palau, Suriname, and Vanuata, so search is quite limited there. Will try to address this by adding other search data sources in a coming update.
Releases
v0.1 - first release, for unlocked phones - just Google Maps + GPS
v2.0.1 - added address search, new map types, new map sources, pushpins, favorite locations, driving mode; now on marketplace
v2.1 - fixed search bug for non-dot-decimal locales, fixed search box focus issue, improved map error handling, added driving mode indication
v2.2 - added driving directions, zoom buttons, new map types (terrain, bike, OSM, Google China, OpenCycleMap), Google map layers (traffic, transit), prevent screen lock option, pushpin popups, share pin info by email; added trial version; expanded pushpin options; fixed local search bug
The free version, meant for developer unlocked phones, provides Google street maps and GPS tracking. It is available to download from this post, or from here:

Interesting, haven't seen that issue arise before... try this link:
http://www.techautos.com/download/wp7maps/
If that doesn't work, just go to the TechAutos.com homepage- it's linked under downloads.
can it view my maps location save in my google account?

No, it doesn't integrate with Google accounts-- at the moment, it's basically Google map data + GPS tracking + bits to make it all work smoothly.
I hope that there will be aerial view in the future
Can't wait the moment Google sends a C&D. He's using the Bing maps control. Unless he figured out how to make the credentials code work to authenticate with Google using one of their API keys, he's breaking their ToS.
Just got a message when I tried to use TA again... "Microsoft has revoked this" and its uninstalled now.... uh oh..

Heh, interesting-- anyone else get this? Still working fine here...
Still working here in germany
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using Board Express
Yes! App does its job here
I just found out the phone re-locked itself without the chevron tool. I was not aware of this, and thought my phone was hosed somehow. I just re-unlocked it now, everything is fine
Good job, amb9800! Tried and works fine. I'd like to suggest: could you please add offline map browsing + map caching mode to your roadmap. 16 Gb microSD is much cheaper than unlimited 3G dataplan
Hey mate, nice work !
Could you think about coding latitude for that too? As a plugin? Thats the only thing i miss on my windows phone is it possible to bring that one into? it would be lovely if you could add it to your To Do list
Update- worked on the app tonight, got basic address search running. Hopefully will get a chance in the next few days to implement the UI for it.
@gcmobile: Added aerial view to the roadmap.
@Deadwalk: I'll look into Latitude once the other features are done (it'd be easy to implement if we could go in for the straight API route on that, but unfortunately not).
@sensboston: Cached map data is most likely possible, though it might take up a lot of storage space (as it'd be saving an image for each map tile location/zoom level). Will look into how to best implement it.
Thanx for the arial update. I will update and try it then
Today i ve synced my phone via zune after long time. After done it my phone was re-locked and the message shown "Microsoft has revoked..." on all my installed dev apps. Pushed always the Back-Button and didnt deinstalled the dev-apps.
Unlocked my phone again, and all is same as before

Google Maps won´t download offline maps

Hey all,
Tried the board search for a possible solution to my prob, to no avail so far:
I am using a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, GP5110, android 4.0.3.
Fully rooted, avast! security installed as firewall, running in whitelist mode - I rather allow those few application I like internet access and have everything else blocked by default, with the ongoing permission-hunger of most app developers I figured to be better safe than sorry.
My problem: Googles` Maps App is running perfectly fine, however when I try to download any offline maps (settings -> make available offline) it just opens a tab called "My Places", showing my map indicating 0.0MB/0.0MB, download never starts.
I tried whitelisting a number of different system processes - such as was necessary to get the youtube app running - but was not successful identifying the correct ones.
Anybody out there who could help?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Chris
Can you not turn the firewall off , download the maps you want then turn it back on ? I have managed to download offline maps but avast firewall was not on ..... just a thought.
Would probably work, but I'm rather looking for a permanent solution than a workaround... Thanks for your suggestion though!
Go to settings -> Clear all offline maps
Then open Google Play, uninstall Google Maps, then update Google Maps, Restart Device,
Now it works on mine. There should be a notification section called "Downloaded Maps" which tells you the progress, as well as inside Google maps.

Using Mac laptop for bluetooth internet tethering

I am getting my internet now from my Mac Air computer using Open Garden. I thought there might be a way to pair the Mac with the Samsung Galaxy Gear and found a free program called Open Garden. This is my first post so I cannot paste the link.
By downloading Open Garden on both devices they will make a bluetooth connection and make internet sharing possible.
What I found is that some of my apps i.e. Beyond Pod, CNN, Browser, NPR News, Scanner Radio do work.
But my Google Maps, and Google Now Search, do not connect to the internet.
Please let me know if this works for anyone else.

Updated: Mar 31, 2014: I discovered that by enabling mobile spoofing this allows internet service to work for Google Maps and Google Now search. The only app that I use that doesn't work is Google Play. I can search for apps but cannot install them. P.S. I also installed Open Garden on my Galaxy Note2 and now I can use wifi instead of mobile data to connect the Galaxy Gear to the internet when I am at work or home.
Have you tried enabling network spoofer on the Gear to see if that may allow you to use Google services?
Thanks Bobseger99 for posting this app!

This is a great solution for Android devices that dont have native BT PAN. Only wish that they would release an iphone compatable app.
