We, as a team, will take over maintenance of FlashCast, PwnedCast, and KyoCast (see a pattern in the names here?), and will work together to develop new mods, exploits and applications for the Chromecast. We’re all incredibly excited about this partnership, and we think you’ll enjoy what we have in store!
And what better way for us to announce than with a contest? We are currently holding four new, freshly-rooted Chromecasts and one unused Netflix code destined for two developers and two lucky users.
Contest Details
For developers
To enter the contest, you must create an application, plugin, extension or other utility that relates to the Google Chromecast and release it here on XDA. Once you’ve done that, post a link to your thread as a reply.
On December 14th, we’ll pick our two favorite submissions. If you’re selected, we’ll contact you in a private message and work out shipping details. Each winner will receive a Chromecast; in addition, the first place winner will also receive a promotional code for three free months of Netflix. Releasing a mod does not preclude you from competing in the general contest (described below), but you cannot win more than once. If you submit more than one mod, each will be considered independently.
For everyone else
To apply, just respond to to this Google form with an explanation of why you love the Chromecast in under 3 sentences. When the contest ends, we will each select our two favorite responses, and then randomly pick two winners from the selection. If you do multiple entries, only the first one will be evaluated. The deadline for this contest is December 10th. On December 14th we’ll contact you in a private message and work out shipping details.
Team Eureka will cover worldwide shipping costs up to $15USD per shipment (from MN, USA). If you live in a location which costs more to ship to, we will send you your prize if you cover the additional shipping fee.

This sounds great. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us.

This incentive is a great idea to entice those devs out there to bring their Chromecast "dreams" to a reality here in our community!! If I was a dev I'd jump on this opportunity, but unfortunately I'm not.. =/ So for all you guys & gals out there that are sitting on a phenomenal creation, share it with us please!! And good luck to all those that do enter this contest! I can't wait to see what this brings to us here at xda !

I noticed the "Team Eureka" at the end of the tutorial video, and thought it might be the teaser...now I can definitely see that it was a BIG teaser. Looking forward to the future of Chromecast with Team Eureka being the first development team being the pioneers at the forefront of it's success!
EDIT: Btw, @ddggttff3, will Team Eureka have a Google+ page as well? I tend to follow a lot of tech news through G+ more than Twitter now.

What's a Google+? (Kidding - don't hate me).
I'll be managing the media type end of Team Eureka, thank you for your suggestion - we will look to create and include Google+ in our release approach, I'll update and advise when we have this functional.

WOOT!!
I have been bleeding from the eyes looking intently for movement on CC development front. Finally, I can rest my weary eyes. Stoked you guys are teaming up. Good luck!!

Great news!

Unless you find a new way to root the Chromecast, does this team have much of a future?

[SKIN][OFFLINE] tPRO for S2P | v1.00

Dear friends and xda-devs,
I’m sad to inform you that http://tpro.station59.com has to be shut down. Since announcing version 2 of my tPRO skin series and launching the website last summer, and after 60,000+ downloads since then alone, this project received nearly no support (thank you Michael and John for your donations). Thus, I can no longer maintain domain, hosting and download bandwidth for this website.
I still plan expanding the skin series with support for new applications and introduce new ui designs, and of course share it with this great community. However, due to my heavy workload at another project of mine I am forced to put this one on hold till the end of the summer.
Thank you all,
dEM

Don't forget to express your support and appreciation by donating even a small amount to this project.
P.S. I would ask if you could provide detailed feedback for the QVGA/WQVGA version of this skin since I don't have a live device to test it on. Thank you.

Hey, of course!! It's this great community that inspired me for developing this project so it'll always be a part of it and only it. The main goal of the website is to serve as an easy (for me and all of you) one-stop place for feeds, screenshots, downloads and tutorials. You've probably noticed that all skins support is redirected to here at xda-developers where any feedback is extremely important for me.
And thanks!

I definitely could. It's just I'm pretty busy with some personal projects of mine right now. But I sure plan expanding the tPRO skins series to some other applications, TouchPal could be one of them if there's enough user interest.

PLEASE, help give a 4 year old child & her family a gift of hope for the holidays...
Hey Guys, help me help a 4-year old with cancer, please visit http://meme.ms/umyzn5
Firstly, let me thank you for taking the time to support me in this endeavor. I have experienced first hand the generosity of this community & have witnessed the support shown for member lTxda and his family in their moment of horror.
There is little worse in this world than a hurt or ill child. Full of hope and innocence, it is heartbreaking to even think about what the families go through, especially when it hits during the holidays. I have a twelve year old daughter and like many of you, I would do anything for her. Sometimes we can't do as much as we'd like, but let me tell you, every contribution, every prayer and every good thought goes farther than any of us realize.
Good deeds don't just end at our wallets. Like attitudes, like happiness, they spread as others see the light we receive from being a part of something bigger than ourselves. I ask each and every one of you to be a part of that now.
Let first preface this by saying that nobody has asked me to do this. I received an email from my very close friend, whom I have known for over a decade letting me know of little Alex Hauser's condition, which was just confirmed as stage four (4) cancer, over this Thanksgiving weekend.
I know that not everyone has the ability to help out financially, I understand that, but I still ask you to be involved. Pray, send good thoughts, forward the link to Alex's site to your co-workers, friends & family & know that you have contributed fully as a member of the human race.
I implore all of you to visit the page for the four year old Alex Hauser and help however you can. Many of you may or may not know me, but I have been a contributing member & Moderator at XDA for quite some time now. Many from the Kaiser community will undoubtedly remember me unbricking devices day after day via Windows live messenger. I am not a newcomer, my reputation has never been tarnished & I have never misled this or any other community. Check me out, check out the donation site, then do what you can & what you know is right for you in your heart.
This is Alex Hauser:

Thank you again for your kindness and support. If you have any questions, ideas, or would like to help in any other way, please feel free to contact me or the fund administrator at the wepay page for Alex. All of my contact information is listed at the bottom of this post.
I personally vouch for this family & stake my name and reputation as such. All of my contact info is available on this site, or through my linked facebook, twitter, linked, google+ and other accounts. I don't do this lightly, as my name and reputation have much value to me.

No child should have to go through this. It's incredibly tragic. I'm sure everyone here sends their prayers, wishes and hope that this Christmas brings a miracle to help this little girl.

well done mate!
Hi Mark,
First of all congrats on the game, well done, the animation is really smooth and detailed.
Did you consider switching to the free-to-play model? This usually works much better on Android.
One comment, I'm not sure, maybe it's only me, but the back button doesn't respond as it should be, ie. I would expect it to bring me back to the main menu while playing.
Cheers,
Tom
Hi Tom,
Thanks! I can add the back button easily bit my children often end up accidentally hitting it in game so as they formed part of my play testing I took it out...
If you think it would be better let me know and I'll drop an update

Great game, I'm enjoying it very much. One thing though, is there any chance of making the on-screen controls bigger? Even on my Gnote, I find the left virtual stick very small, making it overly sensitive.
Hi Iron Doktor,
Thank you for your kind comments, I will take a second look at the virtual controls in an upcoming update.

Many thanks to poo-tang of xperiagamer.com for providing the excellent beta testing!

Thanks pLuhhmm Hope you are enjoying it if you bought it
thanks mate
it looks like very worthy purchase
roger220, pakroid thanks
Just to let you know I am adding in a couple of extra game modes soon - and when I release that version the price will rise back up to $1.60, £1, €1.24
All the best,
Mark
Okay,
I just pushed an update to Google Play - It now allows you to retest network connectivity at the Game Over screen so you can submit those awesome scores should your network have timed out during play or if it wasn't connected in the first place before playing... Now you have no excuse not to get the highest score and post it

JIAYU S3S giveaway by 'MRSIM'

hey everyone,
as promised here is my giveaway thread for the Jiayu S3S that i and maybe one other person received from those low down dirty scammers club1941.com
RULES: to enter the giveaway you must be one of the poor unfortunates that actually made a purchase from this scam company so you will need to prove this here in the thread by either posting a picture of your purchase from them or anything else (like a paypal refund) you think is relevant, like a link to a post from the review thread that i created,(with your forum name clearly marked), which really really unfortunately made you actually go and use this company,(if you can call them that),...please try to only post once as repeat posts will just clog up the thread and make it even harder for me to sort out all the correct people that will be entered
the length of the competition will only be a couple of weeks as i am sure the lucky winner will not want to wait too long before getting said device, once the winner is announced i will ask for this thread to be closed
in order to win i am going to store all the appropiate names as numbers and throw them all into a hat close my eyes and pick out the lucky winner...simple as that...i will then PM the winner to get their postal details...and yes i will also cover postage...if for some reason you are charged by your customs in your country...then that payment is down to you
because this device has now been used by me and my brother,(his note II broke and he needed a phone for a while till it was fixed),i will actually be purchasing a completely new device to ship out so the winner will get it shipped directly to their chosen address
good luck

Lol... Can't use that as a post for this thread.
But that looks like a great app:good:
I am hoping that Saygus recognizes their own strength of modularity and opt to offer battery cover options like the leather, wood, through their own manufacturing or through partners. Since their water-resistant tech is at the manufacturing level: it is a distinct advantage over the competition to upsell their compact superphone and downplaying the usage of cases at the expense of comfort. Really, why buy a nice phone like your Huawei or Oppo if you're just going to cover it up in Silicone? (beyond clear abuses like construction work and the like).

Once the phone hits the market, there will be options from outside sources.
They may be limited, but we will see them.:good:

Fits in a very FlipBelt (though to a small degree tight squeeze) for those that wish to use to use the note four whereas operating out/running. I do would like tho' that the amount rockers were inset to a small degree additional on this case. typically within the FlipBelt the material rubs against the amount rocker inflicting unwanted volume changes whereas traveling.
I'd love to see a charger like this one for the extra battery:

I think if V2s aren't shipping by 6-20, I might just have to grab a G4..

I would like to see Cyanogenmod and AICP developed for this device. I have never heard of Sayguys before and can't even find out where it is from. Or who started the company, and what country it is from. These are just some things I want to know before I decide to buy one in the short future. Also first phone with a dual sd card slot, that's Android I've seen.
Remember that a negative side effect of 64 bit is that things gets larger, due to 'word alignments', It is far from as bad as 'double up', but there is a substantial overhead.
So you should go for both more ram and more storage for 64 bit than for 32 bit.

I thought I read somewhere that CM would be available for the Saygus, either when it was released or shortly thereafter.
Hahahahahaha, the naivety of us all back then, if only we'd known......
Interesting update.

General Discussion - 5:27 PM
Update from Facebook Fan Group
Everybody get excited! There are many good things in the works at Saygus! Much much bigger than just the V2. Review units are going to be shipped out soon in the next couple weeks. Discussions with Saygus inside connections say that there may be an upcoming founder Q&A either before or shortly after release.
One big feature is that OTA updates will be available via the Saygus website and we WILL be upgraded to 6.0 (Marshmallow).
Alicia de Leon (Saygus Employee):
"The whole reason for me putting Josh Werner on a conference call with Chad Sayers and myself was so he can update you guys properly. Please stop tagging me in these threads and posts, remember guys this is not in my job description. my job is not an easy one and it takes up most of my available time, so rather than you guys continuing to feel ignored, I made it possible for Josh to keep you updated. so please defer to him from now on, I will occasionally scan through and give input. but please let Josh refer all pertinent questions to me from now on.
thanks guys for your support! I hope this new scenario helps you all."
Shipping date is planned for October 31st and review units will be arriving to me and +Andreas Erhard soon next week or later. Will keep you updated!
