RDS exist for Moto X?
Have you some link?
... Anyone know another method?

FXZ files found here. You'll need to download RSDlite if you haven't already.

Yes it will wipe clean everything. Just like the day you bought it from VZW. You will need to root again as well.

This is a time where I wish android had a stable backup option not requiring root. Normally I use titanium backup however I'm keeping this stock. iOS has nailed this with iCloud.

One thing that I forgot to add is you need to remove the getvar line in the .xml file.
I can only say this works for VZW. Not sure about other carriers.
so can someone post that they have returned to 4.2.2 from 4.4 on a locked bootloader vzw device please. I know people said you can, or it worked or whatever. But i just want to make sure that you are on a locked device and didn't misread the thread title or something.
yeah, post screen shots of kernel, etc.
I have personally done this on my LOCKED VZW Moto X.
Works like a charm. The RSD Lite, will flash it back to factory unrooted 4.2.2. You will have to use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509590 to reroot if you want.

I believe fastboot has commands for formatting the partitions and then just flash all the things I suppose.

This is very strange. I had read at a lot of places while updating to the camera OTA. that downgrade is not allowed..,,So now it is possible to RSD to 4.2.2 Camera OTA SBF even if we installed KitKat on a non-dev edition phone?

i'm a noob and need help.
i upgraded to 4.4 from 4.2.2. my 4G signal now sucks. i figure my options are to revert to 4.2.2 or if i could just find the radio kernel (or whatever its called) from 4.2.2 flash that and fix my problems.
i just don't know how to do either. can someone help (yes, hand hold me *embarrassed*) through the process so i don't brick my device?

Steps that I took to downgrade from KitKat. VZW Moto X Consumer (non-dev) (LOCKED)
1) download and install RSDlite and Motorola Drivers (I used RSDlite 6.1.5)
2) Download http://sbfdownload.droid-developers...2-13.9.0Q2.X-116-MX-17-57-X-1_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
3) Unzip the file
4) Open the .xml file and delete the line that has "getvar"
5) Reboot your phone to "bootloader/fastboot" mode
6) Open RSDlite and load the unzipped edited download from above
7) Make sure your phone shows up
8) Start the flash
9) Once complete the phone should reboot and start up like normal.
I have not had any issues. I have rerooted with RockMyMoto.

[Q] Help with Root

Hey all,
I'm having some trouble flashing TWRP on my phone. I've been following this guide here. When attempting to install TWRP to get root, however, it won't work. I've tried several different versions of fastboot & mfastboot. Sometimes I get a "bootloader variable not found" error, but most of the time now it exits saying it's successful. However, when I reboot into fastboot mode and then into recovery mode, it's still at the stock recovery. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
If it helps, my unlock status code shown is 3.
Thanks in advance!

No, ota won't flash with custom recovery.
Which carrier are you on.
Try a factory reset, you will lose all your data etc, so do a backup on your computer

Here' s the rsdlite thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446515
I believe on your op you used another thread, that thread has I believe the link for rsdlite
Here's the firmware thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538394
Prior to setting up rsdlite make sure you have the latest moto device manager and drivers installed. Also open up the sbf file and find the XML file, open it up and delete the line that has getvar in it
I took the camera 4.2 ota and I could not flash twrp either even though my boot loader is unlocked. I won't take any more ota's , I'll just flash the firmware through rsdlite

OK, I'll use rsdlite to get back to stock, and then flash the new firmware, and then see if I can flash the twrp.img. I saw the line about deleting the getvar line, so I'll make sure I do that too... thanks for the help, I'll let you know how it goes.

It worked! It must have been because of the OTA I got immediately... but flashing the correct 4.4 worked (I downloaded it directly from Motorola, since none of those specifically said GSM Dev Edition (turned out to be the T-Mo one). SuperSU works too, now just to install TiBu and be on my merry way!

I guess it is cause of I didn't flash modem/radio partition. So, my question... Is it okey to flash GR modem to mexican phone? Or how to properly get official 4.4.2 on my phone? Thank you.
Also, After I flashed MotoX Windows began to identify it as XT1052 (lol wtf?)

no this has nothing to do with the modem the only thing the modem messes with is your cell, sms, data and so forth. i would just flash the Retial UK firmware without the modem's and see how that works out.

Actually the modem does cause issues with settings FC's, this has been discussed many times, problem being which modem do you flash to get data, if you flash the European modem its possible you will have issues, so pick one close to your location. I believe you can flash 4.4 modems and they will work fine with 4.4.2, do not downgrade to 4.2.2 or kiss your moto good bye

No, chances you won't get data, try the Brazilian firmware or T-Mobile, AT&T or Rogers if the 4.4.2 Rogers sbf firmware has been uploaded, here I have the Brazil modem https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbjxj7bilfb4kvl/modem.zip, just unzip and flash in fastboot
Fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
Fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
Fastboot reboot and it's safe to plug your phone
The modem is from 4.4

Really?
I was hoping i could use the Motorola Factory Image flash
Or worse case use the Android Factory restore but was worried that would delete video
I contacted Moto Help and they advised to do a partition wipe cache and factory data reset
You can re-flash the rom using rsdlite. The stock rom can be downloaded via Motorola.com. If you use rsd with twrp recovery, you do have to make a tiny tweak (i.e. delete getvar line) to the downloaded rom file. This flashing process can also be done via adb or via the motoxtoolkit without the tweak but this method requires all files to be flashed one at a time which is more time consuming. If any of this seems Greek you, you can Google it or pm me and I can help you. it is very simple to do and there are lots of guides online. I used a youtube video that showed me where to delete the getVar line. this method does not delete the files on the device.
Sent from my XT1053 using xda app-developers app
Or grab the official 4.4.2, extract the system.img, and flash it with fastboot.
