Hi guys,
I know you can't wait to get the OTA 4.4 update for your Nexus 4 phones but we don't have to wait anymore because Google already released the ROM for our phones! I got my Nexus 4 updated to 4.4 without installing any custom recovery images trough this tutorial.
1. Make sure your Nexus 4 bootloader is unlocked. Unlocking your bootloader will wipe all the data from your phone, so make a backup before doing this! Bootloader unlocking steps:
1.1 Make sure you got the latest Google USB driver on your computer. If not, download and install it from this official link.
1.2. Boot your phone in fastboot mode by holding - Volume down and Power buttons at the same time.
1.3. While your phone is booted in fastboot mode, connect the phone to your computer and open fastboot command prompt window, then type "fastboot oem unlock" and follow the instructions on your phone and then restart it in fastboot mode.
2. Download the official 4.4 ROM image from Google Developers website and wait the download to finish.
3. Extract occam-krt16s-factory-2006f418.tgz file and extract the extracted occam-krt16s-factory-2006f418.tar and you should have a folder named "occam-krt16s" which contains the official 4.4 ROM we want to flash.
4. Connect your phone to your computer in fastboot mode and open with Notepad the file named "flash-all.bat" and remove the -w command from the batch file if you don't want to wipe all data from your phone, else start the batch without any editing and wait the process to finish...
and voila, you should have your phone booting up the latest Android KitKat 4.4 version which takes couple minutes at the first time booting. After that, enjoy!
Let me know if you need any help around this.
Hit the thanks button if you like my simple, yet useful tutorial.

Easy clear steps thanks +1

Couple minutes, not much... I have noticed that long loading too.

You should probably mention that running flash-all.bat will wipe data.

Will this overwrite the modem?

If you edit flash-all.bat, and remove the -w from it. You can update your phone to 4.4 without your data being wiped.

You are probably asking this because you are stuck at the circles screen? I was stuck too. But "fastboot oem lock" then "fastboot oem unlock" then restarting the phone solved the problem for me.

No, it's just unlocking the bootloader so you are able to flash ROMS.

Unlocking bootloader is gonna wipe all your data. And flash-all.bat is gonna wipe it too if you don't edit it. It's a nice thread but there are already many threads for flashing factory images.

I got the menu for unlocking and it says that it will whipe all my personal data, so it's saying that it will but it will not?

I only see the KitKat Logo
Locking and unlocking didn't do the trick.
Also factory resetting through original recovery didn't work.
Any suggestions? I did it without a SIM-Card. Maybe it needs one to boot up?

Motofail2Go: Atrix HD root exploit

Despite my strong belief that people who are interested in rooting should buy devices with unlocked bootloaders instead of expecting the magical hackers in the sky to give out free exploits (which are in short supply), I'm once again continuing to encourage bad behavior by publishing another root exploit:
http://vulnfactory.org/public/motofail2go_windows.zip
Instructions:
1. Download and extract the entire zip file.
2. Ensure your device is connected via USB and that you have installed the latest ADB drivers from Motorola.
3. Double-click "run.bat" and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. The exploit will ask you to press a button combination at one point.
If the exploit prints an error saying something like "run-as: Package 'com.motorola.bug2go' is unknown", then unfortunately you will have to wipe your data and cache partitions and try again.
This exploit should work on the Razr M, Atrix HD, Photon Q, Razr i (you might need to replace some of the binaries with x86 versions?), and the upcoming Razr HD.

Hey Guys, thought I'd share some stock TWRP backups of our available roms. They only include backups of the boot.img (kernel) and /system partition, and are safe to flash on any Sprint HTC One M8. Stock Backups made using @Captain_Throwback's modded TWRP. (2.7.1.0 if it matters...)
Download/Install Instructions:
For now, download the files one by one, I will most likely upload them zipped up so that you can download them in one file, and only have to unzip.
To restore the backup, make sure you have downloaded the entire backup. Place all parts on your SD Card (Internal or External, whatever you use for TWRP) inside the TWRP backups folder. (Example, /sdcard2/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOURSERIAL#//1.12.651.17/FILESGOHERE) Once you got the backup files in place, reboot into recovery, select restore and pick the backup you just downloaded... Make sure to wipe cache/dalvik cache before rebooting.

Stock "Nandroid" Backup Downloads:
1.12.651.17 (Will Upload A Complete Zip Soon. In The Mean Time, Download The 6 Parts Separately...)
1.54.651.8 (Download The Zip File Inside To Download All 6 Parts At Once.)
Harman/Kardon Edition:
1.54.654.9 (Contains Data Backup of /Data/Preload. Will Wipe Your User Data. Do Not Restore Data Partition If You Don't Want To Lose Your Data.) (Thanks @Captain_Throwback)
1.54.654.13
1.54.654.15
******************************************************************************************
/data/preload (Pt. 1)
/data/preload (Pt. 2)
(Compatible with any of the backups above, restore this after restoring a system backup from above... WARNING, THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DATA PARTITION!!!) (DOWNLOAD COMING SOON, WILL PROBABLY MAKE A FLASHABLE ZIP INSTEAD, SO USERS DON'T FLAME ME BECAUSE THEY LOST THEIR DATA AFTER I TOLD THEM THEY WOULD IF THEY RESTORED THIS DATA BACKUP.)

Read Below For Instructions...
There are two options.
First, manually flashing the recovery.img in fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) or using an app like flashify.
Second option is in bootloader, using the 0P6BIMG.zip, placing it on the root of your ext-sd card. Both options are available to download in the link above.

Crashing Modem

Hi guys.
I've been having issues with my Atrix lately.
My phone ramdomly looses signal for like 10 seconds and it generates a folder named "bd-dumps" with 3 archives on it: ramdump_modem_fw.bin, ramdump_modem_sw.bin and ramdump_smem.bin.
I didn't changed anything on the phone when the problem started. I was running LiquidSmooth ROM (Very nice, BTW), and started noticing this issue. In fact, I noticed because my phone was lacking memory.
Now, I've been searching about this issue, but none of the solutions have worked for me. Some say is a bad SIM Card, others a bad network, but I am pretty sure that the issue is not about that.
Everytime that I turn on Data services, it happens. When data services are off, it doesn't. I can be using Wi-Fi just fine.
I have tried:
Flashing Stock with RSD Lite
Flashing Stock AT&T and Mexican ROMS
Flashing Stock manually
Flashing modem manually
Flashing several ROMS (CM and AOSP based)
Formatting partitions
Deleting the bd-dumps folder everytime it shows up
Formatting and fixing the modem partition
So far, nothing has worked. I'm attaching a log that I got exactly when this happens and when it gets signal again. Hope anybody can give me a hand.
Thanks, everybody.

Yes, there is a modem update included. What it does, I'm not sure. Before taking the update, my wi-fi would drop randomly. I've had solid wi-fi connections since the update. Reception also seems to have improved.

I think that is the latest firmware. The baseband should be mb886_bp_100740.071.65.04p.

Fortunately, yes. Check this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54833165&postcount=23
And just flash the modem partition. Then I recommend to go back to Stock and then, if you want, custom ROM. Before I went to stock I had signal issues, but the bd-dumps issue was gone. After flashing Stock, everything worked fine.
Try it, it should work. Don't forget to thank Erick! If you have any issues, let me know.
I didn't understand from erick post may be too complicated for me
Can you please make a guide in the general section for flashing a modem and to do all this . when you have time . it will be helpful for many people.

Of course, just don't forget to thank him because he gave the original solution.
Download this (Original link by ErickST18): https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5v8yakw5eshrmc/AHD_Blocks.rar
Use WinRAR to extract the files.
There are 1.img, 2.img, 3.img, etc etc archives. Focus on the 1.img.
Now, like when you flash the recovery on the command line (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img), you will flash this one this way:
fastboot flash modem 1.img
Remember to put the 1.img archive on the same folder that you have the fastboot archive.
And that's it. Reboot, and then flash RSD with Stock. Then with you favorite custom ROM.
Hope it works for you. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Now I'm sutck in a bootloop. I'm not sure what is wrong (I'll say it again, I'm a NOOB)... Maybe I just need to flash something dumb, but I don't know what.
It won't let me flash cdrom from fastboot and I'm running out of battery. It also failed when trying to flash a STOCK ROM (4.1.1) with RSD lite (it got stuck in cdrom as well).

Alright, people. I'm a noob here and I tried to do this to fix my Atrix HD modem using this. I hooked my cel in Fastboot mode, checked if it was recognized and all cool. I attempted to flash modem and I got a big fat failure.

Well, first of all, if you are running out of battery, first flash the custom recovery.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I would recommend Philz touch. After this, reboot your phone and enter in recovery presing power + up. Here your phone will charge.
If it doesn't work, try with another fastboot. That could be the issue, too. After you have enough battery, try again to flash RSD Lite to Stock. If it works, then try to flash the partitions. If nothing works, please let me know, let's find a solution

[Q] How can I update to Lollipop 5.1 if my device is already rooted?

Hello
Excuse me but I'm a newbie to all of this. I have found tons of posts here to help me with whatever I need but now I can't seem to find a way to update to 5.1
I tried the OTA but it didn't work since my device is already rooted although I am still running 5.0.1.
I tried sideloading it but it didn't work and I read a few posts that it won't work anymore since I rooted already.
So what's left to do? Flash image? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Didn't any new posts regarding 5.1 image flashing and I really don't wanna risk doing anything stupid. Also, I read that there's a way through which I can bypass losing all my data?
Thanks in advance!

you can just flash a 5.1 rooted rom, just like before 5.1. thats the easiest way around. you can flash the factory img as well, then reroot.
Download the Google factory image here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Extract the system.img and boot.img then fastboot flash them. Read general > all in one guide > question 28 for fastboot.
Once flashed, boot straight into twrp recovery and flash SuperSU. Zip to root.
Edit.. Or if you want, you can download a pre-rooted ROM.zip and just flash that from twrp recovery

Do you guys advise me to do this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/rom-3-13-stock-rooted-5-1-lmy47d-root-t3054253
Also all I need is to flash this ROM? Nothing else? If so, I intend to do it using ROM Manager.

no advice, flash whatever you like. but ill warn you ROM Manager is an ancient app that WILL cause you issues. what you should do iz boot into twrp recovery, flash whatever, then reboot. thats how you flash. remember my words, rom manager WILL cause you iasues.
Just flashing a rooted rom will not install the newest bootloader and modem/radio. So I wouldn't recommend that....
But either way works if all you want to do is get on 5.1 without updating the bootloader and modem/radio

I'm never updating my bootloader. At least not until I have to. The 5.1 bootloader is not a friend of anyone racking up their frequent flasher miles.

Bought the app too, in that time we needed it as CM could only be downloaded through Rom Manager. Flashed it with CWM afterwards because RM didn`t work and messed up CWM recovery so i had to reflash it ugh.....

HTC One M7(Intl) soft bricked? What ROM?

Hi so I've spent a good deal of the morning attempting to finally fix this phone, a couple years ago I removed all OS from it and no backup but I still have TWRP.
The phone is tampered/unlocked.
Hboot is 1.54.0000
I tried loading one of the latest ROMS from here via side loading - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
I used this guide - http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/fix-soft-bricked-htc-one-by-flashing-new-rom-via-adb-0154361/
Unfortunately once the sideload is complete I get an error E: Zio file is corrupt, I was wondering if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? Can attempt to provide more information if required.

Hey thanks for the reply
This is the ROM I downloaded https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934554130
My recovery version is v2.6.0.1 for TWRP, should I upgrade?
You can't flash that via recovery. That's a RUU, and your phone must be in RUU mode and you flash it via recovery. Also, you're on very old firmware, so you need to flash all firmwares before that one. My suggestikn is to flash the latest recovery, and then flash a custom ROM. You can find custom ROMs on M7 android development thread

Ah that would explain it lol, sadly very inexperienced with this.
Would there be a stock rom or just choose the one close to stock? (As in HTC sense one)

I think there should be a stock rooted ROM, but you can flash pretty much any ROM from there. Most of them are stockish looking

Hey thanks very much for your speedy replies
Would this be okay then - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-google-play-edition-lollipop-v1-00-t2963927 ?
Also do I just sideload it as I attempted previously once TWRP is updated?

Of all sense TOMs out there, you picked a GPE [emoji4] that's not Sense, but it will work.
New recoveries have MTP option, so you don't need sideload. Just mount MTP, and move your zip to your phone

Haha yeah, I did decide I actually preferred closer to stock android after using my Z3
I don't really know how to do that, will side loading still be okay? (I assumed this was my only option as I literally have no OS on my phone and just get stuck at the HTC loading screen when I turn phone on normally)

MTP is much easier than sideload, and newer TWRP have it. You go into recovery (updated) and you will see "mount MTP" option. Click that, and your phone will show up on your PC. After that it's just drag and drop, but sideload will work too I think

Hmm
I can just see 'Mount' on the main TWRP page, then I go into that and see Cache/Data/devlog/System/USB OTG as check boxes and then just disable MTP button at the bottom.
Nothing showing on my macbook (not sure if that makes a difference as my w10 pc could not recognise the phone at all)

That error means your adb tool is not working properly. At least that was the case on my PC. Can you try it on your windows machine?

Yeah I'll go give it another go on it.
It wouldn't be anything to do with the fact my device is tampered? (S Off I think?) Do I need something extra other than just the one link in the ROM I said i chose?
