I noticed someone else mention this, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but here goes.
I flashed back to stock using the Moto X toolkit, then installed the update, no problems. I flashed CWM recovery through fastboot, then booted into it and had it install SU like always. Everything seemed fine.
I just noticed that I don't actually have root. I went to update my Superuser app, it failed. I tried a few different SU apps, none of them are able to gain root access.
WTF?
I thought with an unlocked bootloader all you had to do was update the binaries and have a working SU app?
Am I doing something wrong?
Maybe superuser needs to be updated to work with Kit Kat . I've been reading where TWRP users are having issues getting root also. Hopefully it won't take too long to work it out. I have a dev edition myself and am waiting for everything to get worked out.

I got it to work... just needed to use the right combination of parts haha.
This is for the VZW Dev Edition, I don't know if it will work on other Dev models. I was having issues with the other posted recoveries hanging, rebooting, or not wanting to flash files. Also, I've tried every other SU app as of this post and none of them work but this.
Enjoy. :victory:

Did you have to revert to the stock recovery before flashing 4.4 on your Dev ed? If so, did you just push a stock recovery or just reflash the 4.2.2 factory image?

I am trying to get the latest version of Cognition onto the wife's phone, but it's not exactly cooperating. I used Odin and wiped everything back to stock, but now I can't get Clockwork Recovery to work with me. When I try rebooting into recovery, I'm met with this:

That was after trying the reinstall package option. Any idea what I'd doing wrong? I'm so used to everything being easy with my Nexus 1 and G2!
select reinstall packages again...you have to do it twice the first time.
Keeps failing. That normal?

read about it and you can fix it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909213
or you can load up the JF6 ODIN instead and actually be stock:

If my goal is to maintain root and install another rom, the first link is my best bet, right?
Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the screenshot in your op.
Either method pirate linked will get you to the point where you can flash a new rom.
Allrighty, followed the directions in the first link, and now I get this:
I seem to have sorted everything out. Thanks for the helpful suggestions.

Being unlocked and rooted alone will not prevent you from seeing the OTA notification. However, modifications to the /system and/or /recovery partition will more than likely cause the OTA update to fail when you try to install it.
Most people use fastboot/mfastboot to flash a clean stock version of /system and /recovery (assuming you're using TWRP or similar for root access), then take the OTA to get the update. Once updated, reflash TWRP with fastboot/mfastboot, flash SuperSU from TWRP and you're back in business. This is how I upgraded my rooted and unlocked XT1060 from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

What @fury683 has posted is the correct answer..
One thing I will caution you about... IF that is Lollipop, you might want to take a wait and see... to make sure rooting is the same. And/Or do some research first.
Initially, due to security changes, rooting lollipop needed a custom kernel. Later that was supposedly solved. But I haven't followed enough to know the complete details.
Chances are good that once you get Lollipop on there, you want be able to downgrade to 4.4.4 or lower.
Better wait for people to confirm first then. I feel naked when my phone is not rooted.

And actually, I'm confused as to why you are posting that picture... 212.44.26 is KitKat 4.4.4 per Moto -> https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/100576
Hey!
I am not being able to install TWRP since I returned to my Rom stock.
My device is xt1064 (bought in florida)
Does anyone know any solution?
Methods I tried:
1)by doing it via fastboot: This message appears when I do it

2)Via android: I tried to root my phone and later install it via the official application. unfortunately I don't know any application to root in marshmallow, so I installed stock android kit kat, I rooted my phone and later installed twrp on the application.
the problem was that I was unable to flash things, or basicly I wasn't able to do anything with it because everything failed.
I installed marshmallow again, because twrp failed after I deleted everything.
Does Anyone know a solution?
I apologize for my bad grammar. I am 15 years old and I am from Argentina.
Greetings.

I did it again on another pc and somehow worked.
I don't know why it worked, because I tried before on that one and didn't work.
I have a maze alpha which got this update, when it tries to install the update, it gives the android error before even getting to the installation screen ( in recovery mode), no matter what I do it just does this with the update, the phone is the 4GB MODEL it is not routed, and it has the stock ROM, when it does the error it doesn't brick, you just have to hold the power button to turn it off and then it starts up normally.
I haven't received this update yet. I still in the V08... Did you receive an OTA Update or did you find the Firmware in somewhere else?

I got this as an OTA update, I am in the UK, they may not have released it in other regions.
I'll try to update later. Need to flash stock recovery again first.

It's the one I used on my 4G Maze Alpha. I was rooted with Magisk and it installed fine anyway. I just had to re-root after it was done.

thanks for that it now works, it is annoying we had go to this much effort in order to update our phones, also you are aware you can root your phone in the developer options on your phone.

Hmm no, I don't seem to have that option.
my mistake, i am pretty sure i saw the option in a previous version right underneath the OEM unlocking option in dev - options but it does not appear to be available in this version.
Can't get this update to install. Get the error every time. Hope did you install it?

Hello,
How have you managed to root your Maze Alpha? I am guessing it is a 64GB/4GB version?
There seems to be some sort of update for my LG G4 H811 (T-Mobile). I'm already on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, so what could this be? I can't update due to having TWRP installed, so I was hoping to find this update on the web somewhere. I checked T-Mobile's site and the highest they have listed is 6.0.1 from last year. Any idea where I can find this update?

Any idea if a flashable zip exists?
Or any way to go back to stock recovery? I'm currently using H811V20r_00_0111.kdz w/ TWRP.
EDIT
I found the stock recovery for the H815. Do you think it'll work on my H811?

To be honest no clue as I have never went stock recovery
It won't update because you probably have unlocked bootloader in addition to not having stock recovery. One option to update that worked for me (albeit you loose all data on phone as it resets when you relock bootloader, but that will probably happen anyways if you could update) was to go into fastboot menu, lock the bootloader, then turn off phone by removing battery (saves a lot of time by skipping the unnecessary rebooting), reinsert battery, put phone in download mode by holding vol up button as you plug usb cable that is connected to your computer. At this point, you can use LG Bridge 'update error recovery' option to get the latest stock rom and recovery reinstalled on your phone. Before you do all this, do realize that LG and T-MOBILE stopped updating or supporting this phone long ago and security updates only go up to April of 2017, so doing all this for an incremental update may not be even worth it.
