Hi there. I was trying to install a custom ROM, I had a PAC Xperia SP rom but it had too much RAM usage (about 50-80 free RAM with every app closed) so I decided to change it, in CWM I formatted each possible partition after that I realised I have no ROM to install on my SD Card so I took my friend's phone and put my SD into his phone while turned off my phone (it asked about rooting while I tried to turn it off I accepted it). Well it didn't turn off and it's stuck right now with blank screen. I can't turn it off (tried each combination Power + Volume up/down/camera). There's a small yellow hole under which there is written "OFF" I tried to touch it with pencil or something with or without the power button pressed but the phone still won't turn off. Right now i'm trying to unscrew the phone and I read about a little cable attached to mainboard which will turn off your phone if you unplug it for 2-3 minutes. So what else can I do guys. Help.
Don't tear it down yet: HOLD the yellow off button UNTILL phone vibrates 3 times!

Okay. The phone didn't do anything while I was just holding down the yellow button but I manage to enter fastboot or flash mode while pressing YELLOW + Vol up / down, but it seems I don't have drivers for Xperia SP, I Installed each driver from Flash Tool and PC Companion Studio but while i'm connecting device in flash mode to flash tools it disconnects after couple seconds saying it doesn't have proper drivers.
Edit : The phone disconnects from Flash mode and acts like a normal phone connected to USB after couple seconds. minutes depends.
Strangely I managed to get into Recover menu and installed ROM I had on my SD, close it.

Hi All,
I have an Xperia Z C6603 UK Unbranded phone and have just updated to the 244 update (direct from 434) using the PC Companion software. Phone is not rooted.
Did the update - all seemed OK, running android 4.2.2 no problems. Then had notification to update Sony apps (Walkman, Album, etc) so I started the process of updating the apps as usual. Then the problems started:
apps were frozen at "installing". System worked fine. Left it for 10 minutes, no progress.
Decided to restart the phone
Phone did not reboot as normal but went into "auto repair" mode with the settings triangle and a status bar at the bottom (+ red LED when plugged in)
The status bar never progressed, it just stayed continuously "moving" as if initialising
Was only able to REBOOT phone off by holding Vol+ and the POWER button. I could never turn it off, it would only reboot to the same state.
PC companion software did not recognise the phone was connected to PC regardless of the various options I tried.
Downloaded the Sony Update Service application and installed on PC
Finally managed to get the phone connected to the PC by doing the following:
-hold down Vol+ and Power till phone goes off
-keep holding Vol+ and Power until phone vibrates once
-keep holding Vol+ and Power until phone vibrates 3 times
-let go and then immediately plug in USB cable (while SUS is running on PC) and simultaneously hold the Vol- button down.
-SUS recognised the phone. Unfortunately the only option I had was to factory reset and lose all data.
Anyway I how have my phone back but it was factory reset. Never mind all my stuff is online anyway so that's not a biggie.
Thought I'd put this out there in case anyone else runs into this problem.
For what its worth I think the 244 update is a huge improvement on the 434 firmware. Better screen visibility and colours and seems a little faster (but that could be the reset). Dont know about the battery life but glad its back.
Cheers.
If you happen to see the repair triangle thing again leave it to do its thing.
It can take a while for it to complete as it's optimising/repairing system files. Just be patient

Thanks for the tip . I did wonder if I should leave it but it was unchanged for over two hours so I thought it was properly stuck.
Battery life seems to be pretty good as well so far.
There has beena few incidents where it took people over 24 hours for it to complete.
Just leave it be, and you can keep all your data

Any ideas how to fix this?
It started with the phone died by itself and wouldn't turn back on at all except it can go to Sony logo when I'm charging the phone.
First thing to do was to hard rest by pressing the orange clip (didn't work) then tried pressing power + vol up button (didn't work).
Second thing was to install via flashtool. Installation was successfully done but I can't turn the bloody thing on (battery is about 60%).
Any idea? I think I just killed it.
Another issue is that the phone is always stuck in fastboot mode when connected via usb.

Any water damage? Been in water?
Clean USB port with cocktail stick or q tip with alcohol. Try again.
Not bricked. Kernel is booting if Sony logo comes up. It is something else...
EDIT: Hold power and vol up together to hard reboot the phone

to rise your phone again use Sony's PC Companion-support. Follow the instructions of the application. I had the same ptob.
Thank you
Hey guys,
Havent been here in a long time... Well let me start from the beggining, i hope it wont be too long. I unlocked and rooted a phone a while ago (i think its irellevant), and had been using it since the without messing with anything but usual root stuff(lucky patcher, busybox, auto clicker and such). Today, i dropped it and after that it shut off, coudnt turn it on... I think it had a live vertically once that i was trying to boot it today, but it was sunlight so i am not sure.... When i try to turn it on it vibrates once. When i connect it to the charger it doesn't charge or light up the led. The screen is black all the time so no signs there. When i hold vol up+power it vibrates once and when i hold it for more time it vibrates three times, as it should but nothing comes up. But when i connect the charger, and hold vol up + power it vibrates and lights up red led. Then it stays on even when i disconnect the phone from charger.
I connected the phone to Sony Emma, and flashed KitKat build 10.5.1.A.0.292 but once again after it flashed nothing happened.
And i have also opened the phone back and checked the connections to the board, and they all seem to be fine ...
Should i bury it or is there something else i can do?
Anyone has any ideas ? i somehow managed to get to fastboot and flash mode and tried to flash recovery, custom rom, stock rom (with flashtool)... Nothing seems to work ...
I'm a bit stuck with a weird case; I have a rooted Z3C(locked bootloader) which I achieved by following this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
It's been working fine for 1,5 year, when suddenly a week ago after the battery was low and shut the phone down, it got stuck in a bootloop while it was charging (already over 40%).
Couldn't get it to boot into recovery mode(nor it was detected by flashtool), until after a few days I was able to acces TWRP, made a backup(still got that, as well of a backup from the TA partition from 1,5 year ago). And then wiped the phone with TWRP as well. After another attempt to boot (which didnt work) it was able to get into the clockworkmod recovery(it's a surprise how that got on there), and chose "restore". There was a blue light and the screen went black. And it did so for over 5 minutes which made me(and a "techie") think it had probably crashed, so we forced shut it off(power button + VOL up, vibrate 3 times).
Since then I'm pretty much stuck with the situation from earlier but instead of being in a bootloop, it is now stuck on the kernel logo "Sony xperia". I can't make it boot in any kind of mode, I can only force shut down by power button + Vol up. It When trying to boot by using power button + vol UP it doesn't do anything; when using power button + down, it directly gets stuck at kernel logo.
At all attempts to boot there is no LED apprearing, LED only goes on for about 5 seconds when plugged into laptop or charger, and last the phone is not detectable by flashtool(or xperia companion).
Currently following this thread and waiting for the battery to drain: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
But I wonder if that will do the fix...
In the meantime I'd like to know if there is anyone who might have some tips of what I can try?

Can you enter flash mode or fastboot?
nope, I can't enter either of them.. Unless there is a way to acces flashmode or fastboot mode without using the button combinations?
I've never stayed in your situation. Try turn off, wait the flashtools send the messenger with instructions to plug the phone, press vol. down button and plug in usb.
personally, i don't like end the whole battery in Sony's 2013>2015, because my fist sony, a M2A, after shutdown by low power, never turns on again... only tree reed lights - uhh, sony with jealous of xbox -, i change the battery and the bricks continued. Not healthy to sony hardware do this, i mean.
https://www.engineerthink.com/blog/2015/11/how-to-unbrick-hard-bricked-android-phone/
But if the last option, do that.
What you are discribing to do with flashtool, I already tried, it doesn't recognise the phone. I even tried "tricks" of different buttons and tempo's bu tthat doesn't help making flashtool recognise the device.
Also I was not able to make the phone completely decharge itself. This morning, after it drained the battery all night long by letting it stuck on the Sony logo, it came up with the battery empty logo when pressing power button. It is not possible for me to drain the battery even more, except if I keep pressing the power button every minute to activate the battery logo...
I tried the instructions from the link you pasted, to get it into fastboot with adb, didn't work, at the first command it already said it couldnt find the device:
C:\adb>adb reboot fastboot
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device '(null)' not found
So, when You have powered off phone, hold vol- and plug it to computer does led on red than green and off?
And fastboot when phone powered off (hold vol+ and plug usb) doesn't work too yes?
@yaroszek, no when "powered off phone, hold vol- and plug it to computer" the LED goed red for a few seconds and then goes off(no green at all), and the screen will show the Sony logo.
when trying to fastboot with "phone powered off (hold vol+ and plug usb)" exactly the same happens...
2 years ago I was trying to download an app that my Sony Xperia LT30at wouldn't allow me to download. I somehow ended up in the build.prop file changing something, I don't remember what, and when I rebooted, the phone was ina bootloop. I did some research and found out I could fix it with ADB. Well that didn't go well as my phone wouldn't boot into recovery. This phone only has volume+, volume-, both, power, and a dedicated camera button. I have tried resetting the battery by holding volume up and power until the phone vibrates once, doing the same until it vibrates 3 times, which is supposed to do something else, using the normal method of volume down and power to put it in recovery mode, and pretty much every other button combination possible. As for the bootloop, I turn on the phone, and the phones led indicator turns green and the device connects to my computer, then the led goes away, the phone disconnects from the computer, and i see the SONY logo, then after about 5 seconds the phone boots off, and then the whole cycle starts again.
So to recap, the phone is in a bootloop, and also won't boot to recovery, both after editing build.prop (from what i remember.), the phone won't connect to adb, even though usb debugging WAS enabled before this all happened. This phone has been worked on by me for 2 years now, off and on, and I just cannot get it to work.
Oh! And the phone should be on android Jelly Bean, if that helps any!
Thanks!
