Need some help. I saw a used i9305 yesterday. On the sticker behind the battery it said i9305. On the startup screen it said i9305. On 'about device' it said i9305. On the (IMEI matched) box though, there was a sticker of T Mobile attached to close the box (obviously ripped now, cause the phone was 2nd hand). Also I think the back had T-Mobile written on it as well.
So is the phone i9305 or T999 (T-Mobiles Variant of the S3)? -
Download from Play Store an app called Genuine Galaxy S3 or something like this and run. It will tell you what model is.

Not enough details to guess the answer .
Settings about phone may help .
Why would you think its not a I9305 does anything say T999 or are you confusing network operator / phone vendor with phone model ???
Probably an I9305 from T-Mobile Germany (or another European branch). Only T-Mobile USA sells the T999.

Hi I was wondering if there is any app or code to check and if so what to look for to see if LTE/4G is available on my Note? I have no idea whether is a hardware or frequency thing, or both, or none, or software (as in firmware enabled???)

LTE is definitely a Hardware thing.
But without driver it's not very useful
Like i know, there are different Models of Galaxy Note,
in the official american Samsung website aboute the Note, there is standing, that it comes with LTE/4G in the German website there isn't any information about LTE inside.
Also there is standing, that it depends on the Country, wehere you've bought it.
Sorry for my bad Englisch,
Schnizel
Yeah ultimately i know its a hardware thing...but from there is it the frequency or does something need to be enabled? possible settings via carrier. So i guess first step is checking it has the hardware...buy how?
thanks for your reply

I believe the only gNotes to have LTE will be the ones with a slower CPU.
The ones announced for ATT will have LTE support.
I'm pretty sure all the ones currently on the market don't have LTE hardware.

Every single N7000 doesn't and will not have LTE.
You want LTE? Just get I717 or E160.

Sounds like a simple question - is there anyone who has first hand experience of whether an unlocked i9305 LTE GS3 will for certain work with Three (3) sim cards?
I never though it would be so difficult to find out - I had some problems with an i9305 that was unlocked and wouldn't take my Three (3) sim, however there were a few other issues with the internals of the phone so I had to return it.
I've searched a fair bit on google for an answer and can't find one person who is on Three (3) who has used their sim with an unlocked i9305!
Just check what bands they use, surely if the I9305 can use those frequencies you'll be fine?

Problem is he seems to have been doing that, and it's not fine. Makes sense to pose the question I think.
I used to have a Note 2 LTE N7105 bought from orange and I used to use 3 UK sim card on unlimited internet (£12.90/month). I unlocked it using the service menu.
I'm sure it will be the same with the S3 if you bought the S3 from a UK authorised dealer and not gray importers like mobicity and the others.

Just popped my 3 sim into my new i9305 - it works just fine.
I bought the note 2 brsnd new condition but preowned .I am conflicted as to why I feel I may not be on a Official tmobile note 2 .My sim works fine I get H+ signal notification pull down shows Tmobile under battery white sticker says t889
But im wondering why my phone says gt N7105 in system settings about ???

This is what im seeing !
Is it at all possible it is am atat Note 2 but with t889 kernel
Could someone actually flash @ gt n7105 rom make it look to be the stock tmobile rom and never nandroid the stock t889 rom?Making this look like its stock
Im truly believing I was sold a atat note2 that simply supports tmobile 1900 band which they do since its penta band device cause I mainly get 3g icon rarely H+

Would it be easily possible to change out the firmware/software motherboard with the replacement part found and purchased online, making the phone unlocked assuming the new part came out of or is a new replacement for a non carrier specific S5. If so, anyone know where to find. Ill buy and do it within the next week dep on price. Thanks for any advice!! Also info on different 4g network chips that can handle more frequencies and still work with the firmware (custom or stock)

Are you kidding? ??? With what we have on ATT S5 with lock bootloader and no root make genetic phone? He is talking about to replace main board on phone. I think easier way is to buy t-mobile phone. Proof me wrong.
Swiping from dark side of Galaxy S5.

the board to replace is still quite expensive besides remember that some variants are slightly different on the inside and the frame might not fit perfectly with the board when you try to put it back together and even if it does i dont know how that will affect the whole ip67 water proof-ness......
