I was on 4.1.2 stock rooted, S-ON. It took me forever to try and update but I think I eventually flashed the right files through fastboot and upgraded finally.
But ever since the upgrade, I noticed my phone hangs a lot of the time. Before, as soon as I would use my phone, it was super fast and zippy to open apps, swipe screens...everything was very fast and fluid. Now it seems to hang doing anything, swiping notifications, opening apps, swiping screens.....it hangs all over the place.
Anyone else experience this? I've had problems with my wife's S3 when upgrading...something about things not getting flashed properly. I wonder if something like that is happening with my phone and I just need to flash again? I really don't want to have to wipe data.

Same issues here with international version of HTC One - try quick fix:
Settings -> developers options -> Advanced -> uncheck ANIMATION option.
Seems like animations causing phone to hang.

I have a few questions about my 4-day old Nexus One.... I'm totally capable of doing advanced stuff like rooting and installing custom ROMs but simple stuff has eluded me so far....
My device: rooted with n-One-sh0t
How do i manually merge facebook contacts with phone contacts if it didnt do so automatically?
How do I make it auto-login to WiFi when I get out of range then back into range
Thanks in advance for the answers, and I may have a few more stupid questions...
1. Phone -> click contact -> menu -> edit contact -> menu -> join
2. Leave wifi enabled, mine does this automatically.
OK that totally worked and was super easy, thanks so much for that....
One more question... on ROMs where swype is installed, i know how to flash the stock KB, but how do I get rid of swype, leave my phone alone swype, i want the stock KB, I tried uninstalling but the button is greyed out, and I tried killing the process and launching the stock KB but it said please launch a keyboard. Im doing something wrong.
Thanks
Please be patient with my noobness, I'm still learning. I recently flashed LiquidSmooth 2.5 to my Bionic, and really really really like the interface; simple and fast. Only a few problems I can't figure out:
1. Play store won't open. I've only found one way to it, by pressing menu while looking at the app drawer, and nothing happens when selected.
2. Home button doesn't work, both the hard button and when I activate the softkeys at the bottom of the screen. Back is the only way to the homescreen.
3. I can't figure out how to have a Google account in the OS.
4. The lockscreen settings have no effect on the phone.
5. The browser won't open, and Chrome claims to be missing some files.
Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?
Thanks for your help!

I figured it out, I forgot to flash gapps with it.
Now I'm not able to send any mms, I read on the development forum that a fresh flash solves this problem. Will reflashing the rom without wiping it restore the OS to the stock liquidsmooth, or will it keep my current apps and settings?
Why do you need to reflash the ROM? I believe it best to wipe everything to insure a smooth flash. Could be wrong though.
Hey,
I'm new here and don't completely know how it works here, so if this thread is in the wrong location, sorry.
I've update my HTC One to stock android 4.3 and sense 5.5 (software 3.62.401.0).
I noticed that when i open messages and i want to click on the three dots/+, in the upper right corner it won't open it.
It flashes blue really fast when i tap it, but it won't open, this also happends when I'm browsing through my photo's and want to share them.
Although I can share them when I open up whatsapp or gmail and the go in the gallery.
I hope someone can tell me if this is a bug or...?
I haven't had this problem with android 4.2
I hope my English is clear enough, it's hard to explain this problem when english is not your native language.

Enable "Animations" in SETTINGS -> DEVELOPER OPTIONS -> ADVANCED. That should get it working.

Thanks for the quick reply!
It's really weird, because sometimes it did work without animations.
I tried it already around twenty times with animations on and it keeps working! :victory:
Will there be a fix that it works without animations? I really hate them, it makes everything feel slow!

Probably somewhere/sometime some dev is gonna find a fix (oh maybe even HTC ), for now we'll have to live with it. It "was introduced" with the 4.3 update, 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 worked just fine.
Hit the thanks button if I helped and if the issue is resolved, please add [SOLVED] to the main thread title. thanks.

I think there's an app in play store for that called No Lock.
Thanks man, it works with No Lock !!
Hi all,
Maybe one week before I found that I have dots instead of name of the menu.
Sometimes I can see the name sometime I can see only 3 dots.
The issue is observerd on camera and mail HTC sense 5.5 applications.
HTC One M7 4.4.2 stock, latest updates
Can you help me how to solve the problem?
Please find attached two screenshots - one with the issue seen and one when everything is ok.
Try to reboot the device and see if that persists

I already tried that, it's ok for a while but then again the same issue. I found one strange relation (maybe) when my mail accounts start to sync the new messages and the issue happens immediately. I'm not sure if there is connection.
I have the same issue also. Only just got the One yesterday, and updated straight to 4.4.2 OTA and have noticed this. It seems to do it on random apps. Sometimes in Messages, sometimes not.
Also in Messages if the name is long, it doesn't sometimes stretch the little dropdown arrow for the entire name.
Looks like there are a few niggles in the latest update.
Wow sometimes Android shows with the strangest problems. See if clearing cache and dalvik cache will clear it up.

Can I do it without root and customer recovery. I'm running full stock 4.4.2 without root. I want to avoid reset to factory settings.

Oh I thought you were rooted. But wiping cache and dalvik cache needs a custom recovery. It's even more surprising to see this happening on a stock device.
Experiencing the same
Hi all,
I am experiencing the same issue.
Non-rooted, stock 4.4.2 running sense 5.5, Verizon
I've tried changing my system font size & the text sizes, anywhere from Small to huge, I've rebooted multiple times. I am still experiencing this issue.
Ive attached four images to this showing what I'm experiencing, the gray boxes are information I've edited out, but the dots are still there.
It's happening in most system apps, Messaging, Mail, Gallery.
FYI this is the official answer from HTC support regarding the issue:
=================================================
In regards to your enquiry, please try the following steps:
- Please try to Soft Reset the phone (restart your device)
If this doesn't resolve your issue then unfortunately you need to perform Factory Data Reset of your phone. You can do that by:
Please press MENU on the Home screen, then tap Settings> back up and reset > Reset phone.
NOTE: Resetting your handset to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory, please back up your files first.
We hope that this has helped you with your issue.
if it will not help you , you might have hardware issue , so we recommend to you to contact our repair center through our point of collection
==================================================
If I make factory reset who will install/configure all my applications/news/mail accounts.
Android should have much better system for deleting cache and dalvik cache other than root.
I spoke with HTC Support, they told me to run through a few steps, started with a reboot to safe mode, clearing the sense cache, and a factory restore.
The factory restore resolved it for a few minutes, but the issue reappeared.
It seems to be related to the pinch-to-change text size in the messaging application.
EDIT: I'm reaching out to HTC Support again-
LastPass is the culprit
I've been through multiple factory resets and adding applications one by one.
The problem is caused by LastPass. The auto-fill into apps feature.
I've sent a support ticket into LP, I suggest you all do the same, but it does not appear when that is disabled. Appears when it is enabled, and goes away once I disable it.
Seems like it doesn't play well with Sense :/

You are the saver !!!! Thanks a lot for this valuable information.
As soon as I disabled Last Pass autofill options in "Accessibility" screen everything went back to normal.
Thank you once again and have a nice day!
One ticket with the issue opened in Last Pass support system from my side also!
Let's see what will happen
It's funny. I'd kind of had a hunch it was that. I turned it off on my phone as all apps had been installed, and hadn't seen it since. It must be something to do with the new overlay feature they have, which is really useful! Good spot though
Hey,
Today I updated my HTC One to sense 6.0. (Software number: 5.11.401.10).
I noticed that my phone would react a lot slower during certain actions. It feels like I have an one second delay, just like input lagg on a monitor.
I noticed this when dragging down the status bar and clicking on the settings. It takes about 1 second between the click and the actual action.
Third party apps don't seem to have any delay!
I've tried switching off all the animations. I'have also switched off power saver and I even tried to fix the problem by switching on High performance mode (a developer setting). This all didn't fix the problem, so I went back to the normal power saver mode.
In this youtube video, the owner doesn't seem to have the problem. You can see it at 5:19 when he clicks in the upper right corner he doesn't have any delay. youtube.com/watch?v=ZE08kJ42_Os
How to solve this problem?
I hope someone has a solution, because I find it really annoying.
Thanks in advance,
Dark-shot.
*Sorry for my miserable English.*
Stop messing with the settings? Factory reset it and see if it works *before* restoring a backup of any settings.

I didn't really mess with the setting only animations and high performance mode, so I think it is really weird to have that lag because of that.
I'm going to factory reset it in the weekend. After testing when I switch to my back-up will everything be exactly the same? Hopefully without the lag.
this is not settings problem, my friend after update cant recive phone call, well send it to HTC or root and flash custom rom, Viper is amazing.

As a test case, if you browse a complex site using opera, then switch tasks to something else, does the problem get particularly bad? (If so, there's more I can tell you about this bug, but no solution.)

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to instal opera and test it. Do you know any complex site that has this specific problem?
Use a custom rom like arhd or Viper and install elemental x kernel. See if there's any difference. If no then there's something wrong with your phone, homie

The problem isn't particularly bad with opera, but the first two seconds after I switch task, my phone is a bit laggy overall (never had this before).
HTC One input lag, sense 6.0 fixed.
I fixed the input lag. When I updated to sense 6, the first settings which I enabled was magnification gestures. I disable the new magnification gestures setting and at this moment the response time is as good as it was with sense 5.5! Sorry for this stupid mistake!
I appreciated all of your replies!
thank you. this solved my problem
Thanks for posting your solution. Damn magnification. The minute I turned it off it fixed everything.
